★★You Do!:A Dasiy Book By Kes Gray

Well this is really a lesson to parents. Kids pick up and remember everything. So, lead by example or they will throw it in your face.

Daisy is a brat. I really wouldn't put up with her crap. Every time she is told not to do something, she back talks, throwing something in her mom's face. This would drive me crazy.

Of course my daughter found this funny. But said she knows better, she wouldn't want to get in trouble.

Most annoying book I've ever read! Not a great example for any child. A mother always making excuses for a bad behaviour. In which part does a 4yo learn a lesson from it? He will learn the obvious, always have excuses....good thing I didn't buy this book...it was a gift but sorry, it went straight to the bin.

Quite the debate occurs in this book, as observant Daisy talks back to her Mom.

Fundamental attribution error.

It's a thing. When Daisy grows up, she can direct her mother to read about this on the internet.

Meanwhile, thank you:

As a mum reading this to my kids I had a good laugh as my son regularly tells me ' But you do!'. It was a fun book that we borrowed and we will look for more of the 'Daisy' books next time. My daughter clapped when I had finished so thumbs up from us..

One of the funniest books I’ve read for awhile- especially since it rings so true! Laugh out loud book that also teaches kids something- not much more you can ask for!

Wonderful book. We can all relate to the smart backchatting child when being admonised over certain behaviours- nose picking, lolloping. ""Don't lollop"" said Daisy's mum. ""You do"" said Daisy. You've got to love wonderful English books using amazing words such as lollop.

I dunno...I thought this book was a refreshing change from typical picture books.

It shows the mom scolding her daughter, and the daughter says the mom does the same thing. And so the mom gives and excuse. Yes, we moms can be totally hypocritical and do dumb things!
