The publication of 108 Moons introduces one of Lithuania's most loved writers, Jurga Ivanauskaitė, into English for the first time. Before her premature death at the age of 45, Jurga Ivanauskaitė had published several works of fiction and non-fiction, but only two collections of poetry, Dancing in the Desert and Ode to Joy, which was published on the day of the author's funeral in 2007. In 108 Moons, poets Paul Perry and Ruta Suchodolskytė collaborate together to bring readers a voice which is full of wit, wonder and longing. 108 Moons is a book of compassion, humour and anger. It expresses Ivanauskaitė's deep engagement with Buddhism and records her reaction to a fatal illness with courage and warmth.
