Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.

I loved how this volume had Jojo finding Dio's true motive and origin and their fight even though Dio got powers, Jojo with his attitude of not giving up and superhuman reflexes and a determination to save his friend battles Dio and the result is epic, also the reunion of the love at the end wow! I loved the whole thing with Speedwagon and his changing nature and concern for a man he was now calling friend! Also the ending wow! The art is better here for sure! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We pick up with Jojo as he travels to Ogre street to find out about the poison and there he encounters some sort of gang and he fights them and fight he does with honor and when they see it, they see he is a gentleman and rather fight him they help him find the thing about poison and as Dio is outside, he is experimenting with that stone mask and through a fight he learns people who wear it gain extraordinary powers and become kind alike vampire and so when he returns to Joestar residence he is greeted by the police and Joestars and they have found the truth about him and Jojo and Dio fight byt he stabs the father but also wears the mask, Jojo pushes him through the window and thinks he has killed him until he comes back as a vampire and its an epic fight of 3-4 chs as we see JoJo fight Dio whose now more powerful than ever and he is killing police left and right. The whole house is burning down but Jojo gets the speed wagon (another guy there) out of the house and they fight and its a bloody one till one emerges victor and next ch is when Jojo and Erika reunite and she is so pretty when she is drawn here, but as fates will have it..Dio is there. Jojo s life gets more and more interesting. The art is again spectacular and this book keeps on firing on all cylinders!!

this is not really my genre, but i as i read every week when the chapter is up on the app, i get curious and go on. it's interesting enough, if only a little flat and i find it hard to connect with any character or to just like them at all. however, i want to see where the plot goes and how the antagonism between dio and jojo resolves.
Brutal.
*SONO CHI NO SADAMEEEE!*
Ah yes, this is where JoJo becomes JoJo. "I reject my humanity" is such a killer line because Dio has already forsaken his humanity long before he donned the mask.
Also, this is where Jonathan actually becomes the king of all JoJos. Dude has nothing going on beyond brute strength and still goes hand to hand with Dio. I know he's the distilled essence of good guy, but it's difficult to reject his resolve.
The camp, the exaggeration and the emotions run wild and I love it. For those who stopped reading because it doesn't pick up quick enough, this the true starting point of the adventure.
It’s always fascinating to see where this insane, constantly over-the-top story will go. The ultra high-contrast art style is excellent, though sometimes the action is rendered in so much detail that it actually becomes hard to understand what’s going on visually. I thought this was a satisfying conclusion to the volume, and I’m excited to see what happens next!
Al fin apareció el héroe más grande de todos, Speedwagon, jaja. Me parece curioso cómo al principio Jonathan no es capaz de dañar a Dio, pero después... bueno, ya no duda como al principio. Uff, pobre Jonathan.
To save his father's life, Jonathan risks battle with the violent souls of Ogre Street in search of answers and an antidote, while Dio learns the astonishing truth about the stone mask - and when the young men finally face one another, sickening twists will culminate in a battle neither may survive! Araki delivers a heart-pounding entry crammed full of over the top action and emotion start to finish. What will it cost the Joestar family to put an end to Dio's devious ploys?
Phantom Blood introduces us to the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and what an incredibly bizarre world it is!
Jonathan Joestar is a gentle young nobleman with a kind heart and good intentions. He vows to use his father's inheritance for good deeds and devotes himself to a life of virtue and selflessness. Everything changes when his father adopts the son of a dead man that once saved his life. Young Dio Brando wears the facade of a gentle nobleman just like Jonathan, but beneath this facade lies a power-hungry sociopath that abuses his step brother behind closed doors and seeks to overthrow Jojo's father to steal his inheritance for himself. A deadly rivalry that's been in the making for over a thousand years sparks to life as the conflict between Jonathan and Dio escalate to supernatural heights.
Phantom Blood is essentially a giant prologue to the actual meat and bones of the JoJo universe. It's written like an Agatha Christie Victorian murder mystery, but with a crazy fusion of thematic elements from the historical paranormal horror of The Mummy, the brute force action sequences of Conan the Barbarian, and the supernatural martial arts of Fist of the North Star and Dragon Ball Z. This was a weird and fun story with a few genuinely shocking horror moments with a nice balance of romance, comedy and explosive action. I also like how it draws real historical figures into the story like Jack the Ripper and the knights of Queen Mary Stuart.
The writing definitely shows its age. I've heard a lot of people say that Phantom Blood is the weakest story arc in the whole series and doesn't do a great job representing the series as a whole, and so far I can see where they're coming from. The characters are ridiculously over the top which makes them exotic and fun, but most of them have little depth. The lore of the story is very interesting, but the actual plot of the series itself so far leaves a lot to be desired.
I look forward to seeing how much better the future arcs of this series hopefully are.
Feels like every other generic shonen battle manga. All the fight scenes are won by miracles and pulling methods out of their ass to win. The dialogue and atmosphere reminds me of Bleach, DBZ, One Piece and etc.
Vaya historia llena de acción y momentos increíbles con perosnajes iconicos , si todo sigue asi estoy seguro que esta obra llegara a convertirse en una de mis favoritas.
