This is what happens when you have so many books on your Kindle and not realizing the unread gems you have on it.
Ross Marshall and Shanna Stiles a chance glance between these two would change everything for them. Ross is the head of "the Guarian Agency" employed 15 men who are bodyguards to Hollywood' elite and 5 who specialize in commercial security. Shanna Stiles was supposed to marry a man she had been seeing for 5 years and on the day they were supposed to marry, she is told her fiancé was seen kissing his best man (talk about a mess). So she runs and keeps running straight out of the church, running towards the limousine when Ross reaches out to open her door for her. A chance glance, a thank you and she takes off.
Sometimes we often think that is it or we will never see that person again. But life with its surprises always have something waiting for us. On the island of Margarita, Ross is there to conduct business with a clien. Shanna changed her original plans from where she was supposed to honeymoon to Margarita, unbeknownst to them both destiny is about to hand them another chance.
Ross sees her at the pool and Shanna as she emerges to dry off spots him to. A flash of what could be recognition flashes briefly in her eyes. But where would she have seen or known him from, remember this is a woman who found out her fiancé was not who he appeared to be. What happens next is Ross offer to help her dry off and then as a woman looking to forget the fiasco of her life accepts, she also wants him to help put back together her bruised pride.
Our gut never lies about a situation or a person, for me my gut is the Holy Spirit. Too often we ignore and keep plowing ahead only to realize once everything has not the fan, we then, recall the feeling or warning that rang so loudly that we chose to ignore it.
In this story you will encounter soul mates found, deception, betrayal, love, family and the white wedding. To say anymore will definitely introduce spoilers which I will not do lol!!
So I encourage you to read this gem of a book because you will not regret it.
LITTLE MYSTERY AND A FREAKIN HOT ROMANCE. WOW! THIS WAS ONE SCREAMING HOT READ, I LOVED IT. PART OF "THE GUARDIAN AGENCY" SERIES ROSS & SHANNON'S STORY, BY FAR THIS IS THE BEST ONE I'VE READ SO FAR. CHARACTERS ARE VERY WELL WRITTEN, A SERIOUS STALKER, DOWN-LO BROS, MENAGE, A SKANK AND SOME LOVE SCENES THAT WILL CURL YOUR TOES AND HAIR (SQEAK!). I HATED TO SEE THIS ONE END. THE GUARDIAN SECURITY AGENCY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TO ALPHA GUYS AGENCY. THAT AGENCY IS FILLED WTH SOME SERIOUS EYE CANDY,"CUM" IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT FLAVORS. UH HUH!!!!
A barely OK read for me...the concept had potential...because the story DEFINITELY grabs me in the VERY beginning...but it loses MOST of its pull as it progresses...IMHO the storyline is just too UNBELIEVABLE...the mystery/suspense, along with some of the antics, and comments from the cast of characters is simply RIDICULOUS...UNFORTUNATELY it's not at all what I expected!
The premise made me pick up this book. It sounded like a good thing but I was wrong. The book is poorly written and the actual plot forces the two main characters together so quickly. I tried to finish it but only made it 30% in when I figured out the ending without looking at it.
This had great potential. I always loved a failed wedding story. This one had the additional benefit of possibly the groom being gay. Winning. However, the author continues to ramp up and pile on and add to, but what happens is she falls short of bringing a satisfying conclusion to these reveals. It's like "What happened?" "Why?" Oh, and Shanna was just dangerously idiotic.
I like the inclusion of sex in my stories. I don't actually read the sex scenes, but I want to know they are in there because that is reality. Christian romance does nothing for me. This is "real" life. Still, not even great sex scenes require entire chapters to make them good and meaningful, even for the reader.
This book has been on my (To Read) List for more than 12 years after a blog’s recommendation. It was my shock when I stumbled upon a Kindle offer that included all 3 novels for Pennies , but I didn’t expect how bad this book is. I’m shocked that GoodReads reviewers are literally awarding 5 stars ; the equivalent of a MasterPiece to this predictable semi-thriller. A runaway bride who hooks up with a stranger less than a day after fleeing her fiancée at the altar. Annoying phone calls and a disturbing break in, lead to another encounter to that stranger and they rekindle their passion on her bed instead of moving foreword and solving the mystery behind the break-in. I’m not exaggerating when I think the synopsis to be better than the actual Novel. Such a waste 😑
I try to read the opinions of others when selecting reading material. I am glad that I didn’t let some of the more less than positive statements deter me. I liked both characters and their chemistry was hot. Ross was an exceptional leading man...he was a gentleman and showed his alpha side. The runaway bride was able to save herself but she was too kind for her own good. I enjoyed their story!
White wedding is an exciting , romantic suspense 📕with the perfect blend of a twisted plot, drama, humor, 🔥🔥🔥& 🌶️🌶️🌶️. Ross is an absolute dream of a man & I can’t wait to read about the other guys in the Guardian Agency 😍Happy Reading🍷
This was a nice story, but part of it were a tad bit unbelievable! Having a runaway bride go on her honeymoon alone, meet a man and fall in love is a bit much, even for a romance story.
What if running from the altar and that one man is just what started it all, or was it? Interesting plot. Sexy man snd hot sex. Secrets and complots. Twisted minds and obsessions. A very nice read.
I chose this book because I was intrigued by the blurb and I enjoy stories that have creative beginnings. In this case the story begins at the altar so to speak.
Ross is walking back to his business one day when he stops to observe with others to see what looks like a wedding at a church. Suddenly, the bride in her lovely white gown comes barreling out of the church looking very distraught. She is lovely and captures his attention immediately. Her bridesmaid hands her a case and her purse as the woman rushes to leave her own wedding. Ross assists her into the waiting limo. They make eye contact and share a moment, but then she's off. The bridesmaid announces to the crowd of on lookers that the wedding was off because the groom got caught kissing his best man right before the wedding. Ross continues on his way, but can't get the bride out of his mind and that's a first where he and women are concerned.
Shanna just needs to get away so cashes in her honeymoon tickets to Jamaica and takes off for another island to pull herself together. Not long after she arrives, she encounters the man who caught her attention when he helped her into the car. Shanna and Ross don't mess around and are soon upstairs in her room getting hot and heavy. It is a three-day affair in which Ross goes from attracted to smitten and where Shanna realizes that she's actually grateful to her ex-fiance because she never really loved him enough to marry him. But everything comes to a screeching halt when she talks to her sister and discovers that the announcement at the wedding had been a lie from a jealous friend who wanted the fiance all to herself.
Shanna cuts things off with Ross now more confused than ever as she arrives home. She has done some thinking, but hasn't arrived at a conclusion yet when she is met at the airport by Kevin. She tells him sorry for running out, but has made up her mind that she still doesn't want to marry him. Kevin still wants her so tells her he's not giving up. Shanna is reeling and not just from Kevin. The island affair with Ross tempts her with more, but she wants to get her head on straight first. Ross returns and knows what he wants, but respects Shanna's choice.
Over the next few months, Shanna acquires a phone stalker and other things start to happen leaving her on edge. She finally places the call to Ross, who's a security expert. Ross and his friends help Shanna track down all the clues that lead to a shocking result. All the while, Ross and Shanna come back together and pick up with the hot and steamy right where they left off. His feelings are strong and she doubts hers and his before finally acknowledging things. But the answer to her stalker question might leaver her with no room to do anything about it.
I have to say I was on the fence about this book. There were two occasions when I almost laid the book aside and didn't finish. The first happened when they literally jumped each others bones within five minutes of seeing each other at the island resort. I've heard of rebound sex and comfort sex and all that, but wow- grabbing a total stranger and dragging them up to your room and getting it on just didn't do it for me. I already thought she was a bit extreme when she just ran out of that church without verifying LaToya's word for what she was told. There is an explanation later of why, but still I felt she owed a guy she had been with for five years at least a confrontation. Her decision to put a temporary moratorium on her love life when she got back so she could get her head on straight made me decide to continue. I found the stalker plot a good touch as I love romantic suspense and I loved that it was Ross who was coming to help solve the problem. I didn't mind that they picked back up with where they left off because at least this time they were talking and looking for a relationship. There were a lot of sex scenes that I ended up skimming through after a time. But then when the clues finally led to answers I found it all a bit over the top. At that point, I finished because I was into Shanna and Ross as a couple. I didn't really care about the other angle of the story any more. When it came to who was the shadowy stalker and the antics, I felt like I was reading about out of control teenager not adults who were working with solid careers.
So it had certain aspects that I liked and others that bugged me about both the romance and the suspense side of things. Those who enjoy steamy romantic suspense might like this story.
3 1/2 stars is what I would really give it if 1/2 stars were available.
This was my first time reading anything from Ursula Sinclair. The story was not bad, just not very believable and I found I could not get into it. I loved the main characters and their chemistry. Ross and the other male characters were all very yummy! It was the rest of it that would not keep my interest. Good read when you want to try something different, just pass time or a new author. But not something I would make a regular occurrence to read.
Shanna's fiance is caught kissing the best man Ben by one of her good friends Le Toya on the day of their wedding. Not even a thought of approaching her fiance to see if it is true, she runs out of the church without a look back.
Ross is a security expert and has his own business. He is walking to his office when he sees a slight commotion by the church. Unable to resist he listens and watches what's going on. He sees the bride run out of the church and immediately likes what he sees. Since he is standing next to the limo she is going for, he opens the door for her to get in. They have brief eye contact and she thanks him for his assistance. Then they go their separate ways.
Ross and Shanna end up (unintentionally) meeting once again on a tropical get-a-way the following day. Shanna is just trying to grasp all that has happened and Ross is on business. Once they get into each others arms there was no separating them (or is there).
Many other things conspire as the story goes on. Tons of lies, deceit and mysterious threats to Shanna. Together they solve the mystery of who, what, where, when, how and why.
Moments before Shanna Stiles is about to walk down the aisle, her fiance' is found embraced with another man. Running out of her dream wedding and to a secret hideaway, Shanna bumps into a man who helps her forget everything she ran from.
Security expert, Ross Marshall, knew the moment he met Shanna, it was kismet. After a mind blowing few days, he plans to convince her to never let go. A call from home though has Shanna going back to a web of deceit and distancing herself from Ross while she tries to understand her conflicting feelings for a man she just met. When she finds herself in trouble though, she calls Ross who does not plan to leave her side again.
New to me author and I thought this was a great read. The chemistry between Shanna and Ross is intense, in their bubble they only have eyes for one another it's the outside influences that are trying to keep them apart. Would read this author again in a heartbeat.
I tried to like this book. I really did but it was just too unrealistic and unbelievable. Oh sure I can accept that Ross and Shanna accidentally meet on an island that no one has ever heard of the day after the wedding fiasco. But the whole stalker fiancee-slash-fiancee's best friend thing is just too much. It totally comes out of left field and is just ridiculous.
This is one of my favourite authors so I am well used to her writing style. I have had this 3 book series in a box set on my kindle since 2014 and I have finally got around to read it. The author has all 3 books on Kindle Unlimited as single books and she has revamped the covers.
Shanna and Ross's story is book 1 in this great series. I could feel the connection between Ross and Shanna. I loved how tender and loving he was towards her. The story had had intrigue and romance a great read. I would highly recommend the whole series.
I definitely get where Shanna is coming from. We have all been there, the place where after a major relationship ends badly we question our own ability to make the right choices in the future. And I know we have all had at least one fantasy where we fall in love (lust?) together with someone else and eat, sleep, and breathe hot sex with that person like there was no alarm clock in the morning. Mix it all up together with the ex that will never, never let go and you have one fun read.
This was a solid read up until half way through when the mystery was revealed. The storyline then became a bit far fetched to me. Throw in a strange earthquake and I was totally lost. The good part: Shanna and Ross were fantastic together. They had super sexy and erotic love scenes, and I could feel the passion jumping off the pages from them. I hope the series gets even more better because even with the weirdness it was still a good read.
It started out fine. The relationship between the Ross and Shanna is a nice one it starts fast but its beliveable. What I didn't understand was the harrassment of the heroine, it just never really made since to me.
Not sure why I waited so long to read this one. I've had it in my library for awhile. LT is a wonderful writer, no matter which pen name she's using. I didn't see the ending coming and I can usually guess these things. Great job.
A sexy new IR series for me. Normally I would have issues with the rushed coming together of couples, but this worked for me. I would actually give this 3 1/2 stars.
I liked the story line and the sparks that were between Ross and Shanna, but thought the story ended abruptly. Hopefully, things pick up with the next story.
