Knowledge and Knowing: One day you will realize your journey
I began this journey of discovery of knowledge at the age of 14 when my universe of knowledge was the books of my school library. The readings exposed my fertile mind to the vast, beautiful territories spread across continents and the livelihood, language and relationship stories of many a cultures. I loved the mystery, the novelty and the earthiness of the humans involved as they dealt with life and living. Their connections were mainly about earning a living, enjoying life and engaging with the challenges that life threw up at them. This intrigued me as much as fascinated me.
Perhaps that was the beginning of the realization that I was without knowledge. But I hadn’t known yet that Knowledge was all the while with me. I didn’t know that knowledge was waiting to give itself to me. I was running around reading books- all in an attempt to enter into a relationship with knowledge that I had brought from my ancient home but seems to be hiding itself behind a veil of ignorance.
Awareness and Knowledge
Knowledge is with me. Then where am I? Where am I in terms of awareness in relation to knowledge? Do I have the awareness of the knowledge that defines me- ....
We must find out early on what is it that we are passionate about and then go about setting to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be good at their area of choice. The inspiration will come from within if we pursue what we like rather than follow someone else’s dreams or what has succeeded for someone else.
