One side of the global warming / climate change "discussion" doesn't want to debate and resorts to fearmongering and intimidation. The other side puts forth solid, scientific arguments like this. The scary thing is that, even after "Climate-gate" and all of the exposure on talk radio of the absurdity of climate change alarmism, is that SO MANY people (especially in the media) keep parroting the same lies about man-made climate doom. At a HUGE cost to society. This book is a must-read for any politician preparing to vote on environmental policy, or for anybody else interested in the actual hard science of climatology.

Accidentally classed as science, this book plainly belongs in fiction. Bob Carter is a recipient of fossil fuel largesse and he has responded by dancing a merry tune for his big oil masters with this book.

This is an absolute tour de force by Dr. Carter. This is absolutely fascinating scholarship which scientifically and empirically challenges the conventional wisdom. In addition, the author provides incisive information on how the IPCC reports are flawed, how much money is spent by global warming lobbyists to fund "research", and lists of reputable and prominent scientists who disagree with the conventional wisdom on scientific grounds. I have read several books on climate and this is by far the most complete, scientifically competent, and convincing read I have come across. You should feel very confident you will be able to repel the usual suspects of climate alarmists after having digested this material. A caveat though: In some parts it can be slightly technical, but since the author is a paleoclimatologist, he is dumbing things way the heck down for us laymen. All in all, you should enjoy this book thoroughly as I have.

Giving this a 3 because I can't give it a 2.5. Carter engages in the same ad hominems he accuses climate change scientists of. He raises interesting arguments, and I think we should all know what those arguments are, but I'm searching for reasoned debate on climate change, not more name-calling.
