Some parts of the book were valuable, but some other parts tried to give readers a realistic view of Show Business, but it didn't coincide. It almost gave me a "Don't bother with Show Business" approach on the whole because of low/no income, unemployment, etc. but I guess this is the reality of the industry.
Feels like a compressed, 5 minute version of my college training: lots mentioned, but without any actual detail or specificity. Some of it is helpful, but a lot of it is outdated, especially the parts about marketing yourself/contacting agents/utilizing the internet. Was a good read to remind myself of things from college, but wasn’t mind-blowing or life-changing. I’d rather read other books instead.
The style of the book is beautiful and interesting Its design is beautiful and its content is useful in the simplest ways, it's a book for everyone اسلوب طرح الكتاب جميل وممتع تصميمه جميل ومحتواه مفيد بابسط الطرق كتاب يتناسب مع الجميع
When they say "for people experienced, or not experienced at all" they really mean "for people not experienced at all." This book is really good for basic understanding of theatre/film/vocal acting, but I have been acting for quite a long time, and so it was hard for me to get anything out of this. The structure of the book is a little childish and magazine-esque, which makes it extremely hard to stay focused. It took me a long while to get through. It's not terrible- and gives good advice, but if you're an experienced actor looking to delve into your craft a little more, look for things that are a little more advanced.
This book came to me at the perfect time. Right as I am returning to the industry. Followed by a full moon. So yes it was meant to be. As I read I found similarities to other acting books but I got a little bored mostly because I learn by experience but it’s a good read for beginners or someone who needs to refresh.
It was exactly what I needed. I was looking for a primer or broad overview, and that is exactly what I got, along with useful tips and the pictures added some entertainment and visual stimulation. This is a good book to start from in order to guide study.
