A fang-tastically funny new story about one of Jiggy's ancestors, set in the early 20th century What would you do if you were attacked by vampires? Edwardian butcher's son Jiggy Offal-Trype knows what he'd do—run! But he can't, he has to fight back. Luckily, he has some killer new skills.
My little boy brought this home from his first week attending the school library. Well, one thing I learnt is that there is zero filtering of appropriate books for five year olds at the library as he wouldn't be able to read this one for himself. Some of the themes are not really appropriate for younger children - alluded extramarital affairs, vampire killing and spitting in faces jump to mind.
Still, as a book for slightly older children this is a lot of fun - indeed I thought it was funnier than my son did. The vampire spit jokes do pay off with some laughs and I love how Lawrence structures the dialogue,
and he said..., so I said...then I said....so she said.... (actually it's quite funny to read and I can't do it justice here).
