This is a great little book. It’s not necessarily a straight read, but more of a resource to use when necessary.
The essence of this book is addressing fear, broken out into 3 major categories including facing, feeling and transforming fear. The whole idea of this is to see fear more as a ‘message instead of a monster,’ as the authors would say. By being curious about our fear and finding out what our fear might be telling us, we can find courage to do the things we never thought we could. In addition to addressing the psychology of fear, the authors weave narrative into each of the short chapters in a way that makes them feel more personal and accessible.
This book was suggested to me in the context of domestic violence, so I tend to read it through the lens of victims of trauma and abuse. However, this book can be useful for anyone.
