A short story influenced by classic American folk-horror tales, in which a small boy Tom meets the devil in the woods. This was an experimental and fun piece for me to write, and I hope you enjoy it.

I enjoyed the premise of this short story. It reminded me of the Puritan notion of the Devil in the woods ... which is pretty creepy. I would like to have felt the character (Tom) exhibit a greater fear factor to add an even higher sense of realism ... even if it is fiction. I still recommend it as a quick read for those that enjoy horror, or stories of this ilk.
