Elliot York has done it again! Another amazing book in the Detective Logan Cooper Series! And once again 5 stars is simply not enough! It is fast moving action and full of suspense and surprises! You can't love but love Reggie and Coop! I especially liked the funeral....not that someone died, but the way she was celebrated. Such a wonderful escape! I almost wish I had not read it so I could enjoy reading again for the first time! Looking forward to Book 3!!!
Another great murder mystery read. Detective Cooper and Detective Hawkins take you on a journey of twists, and turns that just dont stop until the very end. They never quite connect the dots all the way and just keep evolving the case bigger and bigger until that one clue they're missing finally pieces it all together. I'm definitely looking forward to the next adventure these two take us on.
I can usually figure out whodunnit, but this refreshing read left me guessing the whole time! I had one theory and it was completely wrong. This was a truly riveting page-turner that managed to very nicely wrap up seemingly unrelated events by the end. I would highly recommend for any mystery lover!
Book 2 of the Detective Logan Cooper series starts off with a first-person POV of the first victim. I really like what Elliot does with this, giving us just a taste of the victim's life and personality before it's ripped away from them. Logan and his partner Reggie are put on the victim's case, and it's a whirlwind of dead ends right from the beginning. Logan and Reggie's relationship and friendly banter continues on in this second book, and they grow closer as friends and work partners. There were some very emotional bits to it, and the funeral was extremely well-written and tugged at my heartstrings.
I cannot wait to see what their next case will be!
Detective Logan Cooper and Reggie (his partner) are at it again. This is the 2nd in the series about this police duo! Logan never wanted a partner, but he got one in motorcycle riding, hard hitting, Reggie. Not only that, but she is beautiful as well.
This time they are on the case of Judges being murdered. Love their interaction with their Chief. This is full of twists and turns as just as they are investigating the first murder, another judge has been murdered! Now they are going in different directions and this case is pointing to more then they bargained for!!
How can a story with six murders\deaths be considered wholesome. Reggie. Although the detective story is frought with sleazy people and crooked judges, the victims of the wealthy and crooked bring a sadness and understanding. Reggie adds a sense of growth when there is pain, understanding when there are challenge s and acceptance of others less fortunate. All around her seem to grow in character because of her.
I could have done without Logan "pining" for Reggie, they're great partners, so I'm not sure where the author is taking this.
Other than that, this installment of the series was brilliantly penned...the case was full of road blocks and twists. I really enjoyed watching the detectives peel back the layers on this one. I'll be honest, I had my suspicions and pointed the finger earlier, but it was more of a gut feeling than the author laying out breadcrumbs. Great fun playing whodunit!
It’s interesting getting into a new series. By this second book, I feel that I’m getting to know the characters, and like them. The story itself was a little hard to keep up with and the ending came up really fast, but overall it was a really good read. Looking forward to #3.
Someone is killing judges. But why? Cooper and Hawkins must unravel the ugly truth.
Good read. Like the comraderie between the partners. But there was a bit too much banter, eating and running. Not much suspense but overall a satisfying mystery.
This has so many dead end clues to it you'd think it would never be solved. Even though there is a detective partnership involved in this book there doesn't seem to have a great connection. Feels like the pair are hold each other at bay. A disconnect of sorts.
This is my second trip with Logan and I enjoy the series. Already onto number three. However, the graphic violence of the crimes are off putting. I've put down Double Edged twice due to the back and forth between the violent opening. Not sure if I will finish this one.
Big fan of Detective Logan Cooper! Elliot York has created another great story of murder and mayhem for Logan. I only wish it has mentioned even once the previous story/murder. Then it would have been perfection! On to book 3!!!
This book got me at the beginning and kept me spellbound until the end! The bodies are piling up and Detectives Logan and Reggie are on the case, their suspect has disappeared and they are yelled at by the police chief to find him, boy when they do it’s a shocker! Had my heart pounding at the prologue and it kept up until the end!
