The reason for distress in ten-year-old Shiva's life was his ancient bicycle, Kaala. In a town where flashy and modern bicycles were the norm, Shiva and his outdated ride had become the subject of ridicule. To make matters worse, the family's sweet shop, once the go-to spot for sweets and savories in Hinapur, had lost business to newer establishments. With a struggling business, a rundown home, and a pregnant wife, Shiva's father could not afford to buy his son a new bicycle. But what happens when the Sahibs from Mumbai visit Hinapur to spend a winter week in their old bungalow? Will they bring the change that Shiva so desperately needs? Will the new people who walk in as a breath of fresh air to his life, help him break free from the shackles of ridicule? Follow the journey of a young boy, his old and new friends, his family, and a bicycle from the past generation.
