King James offers a fascinating, inside look at the early years of the king of the basketball court, Lebron James.
LeBron is a six-foot-eight gift from the basketball heavens. In the early 2000's, at St. Vincent-St. Mary's, he was the undisputed finest high school player in America. The "Chosen One" NBA scouts drooled over, corporations dreamt of, event promoters begged for, and now NBA fans clamor after. With appearances on the cover of Sports Illustrated and features on ESPN and in newspapers across the country, never before had a high school basketball player been so highly touted or an eighteen-year-old athlete been the subject of such fascination.
In fact, no basketball player in the world experienced this level of attention. But believe the hype: there is no denying that LeBron James is a force on the basketball court, and his rags-to riches story is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Author Ryan Jones has written a book that incorporates everything during the early reign of King James: the controversy, the athletic potential, the jerseys and the Humvee, the hobnobbing with the world's most famous stars, the money, and, of course, the game.
This is a book for every fan of LeBron James and for anybody interested in reading about the NBA basketball legend in the making.
The book Lebron James Believe the Hype by Ryan Jones was astonishing book. I really enjoyed this book because this gave you a little sneak peak of how the media and your support group around you can either bring you down and cast a bubble of jealousy around you. Although it also showed the other side about how the media can help you show your talent to the world and how you can bring others that usually wouldn’t get the national attention that you get and you bring them into the spotlight with you presenting them with opportunities that they wouldn’t get on their own. This also showed how to stay loyal to the people that have been supporting you and by your side since day 1. When Lebron was entering high school they could either go an all white school that wasn’t known to the public called Saint Vincent or the black power house of Buchel High school where the coaches loved Lebron but weren’t all that fond of the players and brother coming with Lebron. So like the stand up young man he was he said if your taking us all then we will find somebody who will. In chapter two Lebron stated “ I treated every day was my last day with basketball.” Page 38. This quote reminded me of how your beliefs can shape your society. Lebron James came from a single mom home and had no idea who is his father was and could walk right past him on the street and not even know. In fact Lebron still doesn’t know who is father is. This quote relates to this essential question because Lebron came from nothing and was raised in one of the worst neighborhoods in his city. Life there was not take for granted because you could somebody earlier in the day and by the time the sun starts to go down they could be dead and nobody knows what happened to them. So this attitude and way of life rubbed off on him in a positive way in which he turned it from a negative to motivation to achieve a positive. He played every game like it would be his last making sure he left everything he had in the tank out there on the court. When he played so hard his opponents were in for a long night because he knew what he was capable of and when you played like it was your last there is not much anybody can do it about it. I would recommend this book to people that are in that constant struggle and just want to read some encouragement of somebody that made it out, no matter if you wan to be successful in sports or the medical field or legal field this is an encouraging book for all about how to put your family, friends, and city on your back and make something of yourself, your support group around you, and put your city on the map. This book is also for people that are facing adversity in sports because he faced many ups and downs but he stayed calm and never let anybody deter him from his manifest destiny. This was an astonishing book to read and it applies to people in life styles, social and economic backgrounds, and places. This is a book to definitely put on your need to read list.
This book was very hard to put down once I started to read it. Especially because it's about basketball which is my favorite sport. It was intriguing to me to read about one of the best basketball players of all time, LeBron James, and how the hype was true. The hype that he really was and still is that good of a basketball player.
"And as far as LeBron," he continued, "you could always see that even as a young kid...he always wanted to be in the gym. He always wanted to learn" ( Jones 26 ).
This quote shows a lot about LeBron and the type of person he is. This quote displays that besides the fact that he was young, he formed his identity of being the best player by applying himself in the gym even with the numerous negative influences that he was surrounded by on the daily basis. LeBron grew up with no real father figure just his mother raising him. LeBron looked up to his coaches and mentors in his life as his father figures. LeBron shaped his identity and who he was at a young age. He was always determined and hard working and made some crucial decisions that led to his success. He played both football and basketball in high school but at one point he decided it was time to focus on basketball and time to put in the hard work full time just on basketball and stopped playing football. As soon as this happened he became a star. He had all the fame, People asking him for autographs, he went to all the top basketball camps, he was ranked nationally in the top ten. The one thing people don't give LeBron credit for these days is even though he is athletically gifted he had to work hard for what all of those things it wasn't just handed to him. He was and still is one of the hardest working basketball players.
I recommend this book to people who like basketball and LeBron James. Not only do I recommend it to people who like basketball but to people who play sports in general. It's a great read and I feel that everyone will enjoy it!
Why i choose this book is beause i enjoy reading about my favorite basket ball players in books and how they become to be where they are in lif now adays.
The story had begone in a little town that Lebron and his ma lived in. They only had a household of one bedroom and also it was very tiny for the both.
Lebron James is one talented athleate. He is a person to look up and see that he will not give up on anything that he wants to accomplish, till he has it all done. The things that the kids like about Lebron is that he couldnt every say no to them.
They main thins about the story is that Lebron wants to make it up to the NBA big leagues. He is in the year of Freshmen and has to work his way all the way up to Senior year, before he could become part of the NBA.
The main problem in the story for him is that he has to keep compeating against other players to show that he is the one to be drafted to he NBA. The thing is that Lebron is the one to be picked, but the thing is that lots of others want to get the same position as he wants.
Lebron is a good man. He gets past his problems with the other players. The way for it to be solved was that he face all teams to really see if he is the onw to be in the next NBA draft.
My opinion on the book is that i absolutly liked how it was told. I like the way that Lebron never gives up on his dream to be in the NBA. Also the other thing that i liked is how he shows kids to never give up on your dreams till you set the goal to make them.

This book the Lebron James story is a good book to read. This book tells you a lot about Lebron and what he been through in his life. When you get done with this book you will know everything about Lebron from highschool to the NBA. This book is persuasive because it teach you that you can be anything in life that you want to be. Lebron was the number one player in high school when be became a freshman to a senior.
He was MVP all 4 years of his high school years. He was in lots of events. Lebron was the cover of lots of magazine one of them was slam magazine. Lebron went to a lot of camps and high school. Lebron broke his wrist so he had to sit out one of the biggest camps he ever went to. Lebron even got customized shoes Adidas got him in high school.
Some of the characters is his agent, his momma, him and his wife, carmelo anthony. He broke his wrist to he couldn’t play in most of his basketball games one season. They have lost their first game in a month and it was in a tourney so they was mad. This book is good because you get to know about one of the best players in nba history. I think this book is good because you learning about Lebron james one of my favorite players. It talks about his career and how he did his high school games.
“Them trying to get into it physical with us, we had to get into them mentally” pg 101. This team name is Brush high school and Lebron's school was playing them and they was blowing them out so brush high school start getting mad. They was trying to fight Lebron’s school when try was blowing them out. Then Lebron’s team was trying to stay in the game in the game ejected from the game.this is important to me because this happened to me before but on the football field.
People should read this book because it talks about Lebron’s life and how he grew up. Some people would have grew up just like how he did or worst just believe in yourself in you can be anything you want to be. So i would want anybody to read this book.
King James Story This story is about Lebron James’ life and his career. It discussed what he had to do to make it into the NBA and what he did before he was a NBA player. He was an amazing athlete who was able to play almost any sport well. I liked this book because it is very amazing to learn about how athletes got to where they are and what they did to do it. I did have a strong emotion while reading this book because he is one of my favorite athletes and I really look up to him. It made me think about why it takes so long to get where you are today. I can relate to this book by putting myself in Lebron James’ shoes. He loved what he did which was sports and spending time with family. I love what I do which is video games, sports and spending time with my family. We also are both willing to do anything to have what we love. This book reminded me of another book called “Drew Brees.” It was almost the exact same thing but just different people’s story. Readers who love to learn about athletes and how they got to where they are today would love this book. That is why I love to read books like this.
This book was one of the best books ever. I loved how it gave so much background on Lebron james to show u what he really came from. It was crazy to see how hyped of a player he was in high school. Any place he played at he would pack the place full. I loved how it would give the media quotes, it felt like you were really there. I also love how it gave a lot of his high school career and then it jumped to the nba. Also i love how it gave all of his game stats in high school and the NBA.
My experience with this book was welcoming and comfortable. Since this was a book relating to sports, my passion, I was able to relate to several situations in the book. This is most likely my most enjoyable book this year due to the concept, language and likeable characters in the story. The overall idea of growing up and playing sports was easily relatable to me.
My favorite quote of this book was when Lebron said, “ Knowing that I didn't have my father I knew I had to be mature from an early age.(125)”. This quote carries the entire idea of the book. He had to stand up for himself in his surroundings in order to surpass the temptations that were constantly attacking his dreams. He had to overcome bullying and other adversities since very young in his life. He knew he had to be mature and understand right from wrong if he was going to make it out of his solemn life. To this day, he believes the absence of his father was the key in his rapid maturing. He knows this process was faster than anticipated but at the same time he understand it was to a degree easy since the alternative for him was not acceptable.
I believe Lebron early life was not easy. He experienced many life changing events not usual for a young child as he explains in the book. I believe Lebrons turning point into adulthood came around the 8th grade when he was offered ‘a smoke’ and him, understanding where that would lead him, turned it down. He was only in the 8th grade when he made this choice. He overcame peer pressure and did what he thought was right. When he said no to this situation and chose better for himself as such a young age, shows how determined he was to do better for himself and how manhood had reached him.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in sports. This books is the story of a professional athlete from childhood to adulthood and in this case until drafted by the National Basketball Association (NBA). I would recommend this book also to the fans of Lebron James, they would get a true understanding of the person behind the basketball player. I would also recommend this book to people dealing with misfortune in their life. Lebron reveals in this book how he dealt with difficult situation throughout his life and how to aspire for better in times of hardship.

I like this book because it was about sports and about my favorite player LeBron James and from rags to rich. This story had a lot of personal struggles during his lifetime when growing with a single mother. So then he finds a way to make big for himself and that is playing basketball.
My first reason for liking this book was how his mother was doing her best to support her only son that she had. But then she sends him away to live with Uncle and Aunt for a while so Lebron can get back on track in school. Because in his fifth grade year he missed 70 days of school and passed. In that year he started to play basketball for his school and summer basketball leuages. By time he was in 6th grade he started for his middle school team and only and won a championship. In 8th grade he was the best player coming out of middle school.
My second reason is that year LeBron chose a catholic school by the named by St.Vincent and St.Mary who was a never a basketball force. During his 9th grade year he didn't start but came off the bench and score okay. During is 10th through 12th grade he starter when he became the number one basketball player in the country and made that team a powerhouse when they never was during the school history. In his 11th grade year he phone calls letters and everything. EVen the nba was coming to his games that how good he was during his high school career.
My final reason for liking this book was how he made it from the bottom to the top by playing basketball to keep himself better at it. During his 12th grade year the NBA came knocking on his door. So he had a big decsion to make during that season. So he held a press conference during that year and made up his mind that the nba was right for him. In high school nike signed him to a deal. In 2003 he was the first pick in the draft to the celevand cavliers and won rookie of the year. This is the reason why I liked it.
My conclusion for this book that it was great to read and had to deal with sports and my favorite player right now and that is lebron james. So I would like to read another book that has to do with him
King James No King James is not a real king of any known country or piece of land, however King James is the king of the court. Who is King James and what is the court? Well it's Lebron James and the game of basketball of course.
The story of Lebron James starts in Akron Ohio in the mid 1980's as a small town kid would soon pick of the very thing he would rule a basketball.
Most of everyone on the planet knows who Lebron James is even if you didn't know he was a basketball player, you probably have seen him on covers of magazines, advertisements, tv commercials, video games, books, Bill boards, practically everywhere. It wasn't always like him for that he had to earn his thrown on the court with many years of hard work in highschool
Lebron James gained his knowledge and skills as a basketball player in highschool. Lebron became famous in his junior and senior year as he lead his highschool and to many championship games and lead his team to beat many of the top ranked teams in the country. Lebron was in many all star games his senior year and was endorsed by adidas and Nike. Adidas was giving him everything shoes, sleeves, arm bands and everything. However Lebron signed with Nike because the money was to much for adidas. Adidas was as young as Lebron, Lebron however went with team Nike instead.
The story is centered around Lebron young at s young age. It is a story of a boy from an ordinary place like Akron Ohio can be an nba legend. The story teaches the reader that no matter where you are from if you put in the work and you remain humble you will be successful. Lebron James is a star but he never forgets where he comes from which is why he went back to Cleveland Ohio because his home is forever Ohio. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Lebron James or who needs a lesson on being humble in times of being a star and in times of hardship.
“King James: Believe the Hype” is not just book that describes how great of a basketball player James is, it is a book that follows LeBron James’ life from growing up poor in Akron, Ohio, to becoming a multi-millionaire NBA superstar. I love to read Bleacher Report, and I read articles on LeBron James all the time praising his work on the court. What I haven’t read before reading this book, though, is how life was for James growing up and how life is off the court. I really liked this book for the fact that it goes into detail describing James’ life throughout high school and how he rose to superstardom. “King James: Believe the Hype” is much more than just a book about facts. It describes James’ successes along with his troubles. I can relate to this book because I love basketball, and one of my dreams is to become a basketball star and reach the NBA. I think that nothing would be as thrilling and as remarkable than to be a high school basketball star and be drafted into the NBA straight out of high school. This book focuses on the fact that hard work and dedication pay off. I am a very hard working and dedicated person, and I believe that I am like James in that way. I also like the fact that author Ryan Jones wrote “King James: Believe the Hype” in chronological order. The book started off with James’ younger years and progressed into LeBron James’ NBA career towards the end. Reading about how LeBron James started off and was able to make it as far as he currently has makes me respect him much more. I liked this book a lot because not only was it about my favorite sport but it also inspired me to work even harder and believe in myself. “King James: Believe the Hype” made me realize just how far hard work and dedication can take you if you believe in yourself.
King James Believe the hype by Ryan Jones is biography following LeBron James young illustrious career. This starts at a press conference in New Jersey then jumping to his humble beginnings coming up in Akron and being taught how to play football and basketball up until the eighth grade. The book show LeBron’s career in grades ninth through his senior year showing his accolades, hard work, and the scrutiny from outsiders, then transitioning into his first two years in the NBA with all the hype to live up to from his amazing high school career and number one draft pick status. There are multiple things I like about the book, but not just because LeBron James is my favorite player in the NBA. One thing I like was just the author’s vast knowledge on the subject because it seem that he cover most if not all basis having the reader very knowledgeable on LeBron and his story by the end of the book. Another thing that’s great about the book is that simply it tells a great story of one the greatest players that plays the game, a hands down hall of famer, and arguably the best to play the game of basketball. The one thing that drew away from the great story was when the author would say I and talk about his thoughts. Even though Ryan Jones is part of the book, nobody reads this book to hear anything from you, they read it to hear the story of Lebron James in all his glory. Despite of Ryan Jones chiming in sometimes I still highly recommend this book; not just because Lebron is my favorite player. The great story grouped vast knowledge made this great, and if you can appreciate a great story about one of the most if not the most popular player in the world you will enjoy this.
King James Believe the Hype The Lebron James Story Written by Ryan Jones
The author wrote the story to tell the journey of Lebron James’s life and the hype and controversy about his basketball career. The author is writing to show that no matter where you come from you can achieve your dreams and persevere, if you work hard and believe in yourself. The author uses narration as the writing style in this book. Narration was used to tell the events of Lebron’s life in the order they happened. The author documents the story of Lebron James. Lebron played high school basketball at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. In 2001; when he was 17, he did a photo shoot for Slam Magazine. In 2002, Adidas made Lebron t-shirts and sweatshirts with his logo (“King James”) on them. In Lebron’s final 3 years of high school, the designers from Adidas asked for Lebron’s input in designing their gear. In 2003, Adidas put bill boards up in Akron to try and persuade Lebron to sign with them. In high school, Lebron won MVP of the Round Ball Classic, MVP at the McDonald’s All-Star games, and MVO at the Capital Classic. There was a lot of hype and fascination for Lebron James. Lebron was the #1 draft pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. I liked the book. I liked the book because I am a fan of Lebron James and it was interesting to read about him. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the book. This book is a lot like The Blind Side because everyone said that Lebron wasn’t going to be good enough in the NBA but yet has been greatly successful. This is the same thing they said about Michael Orr in the Blind Side.
A story about a man who was born in Arkon Ohio living in the ghetto growing up. Lebron James is one of the best in the NBA top 5 players. His story shows us to work hard and things will pay off for you. Even if you get caught in a scandal. The story takes place in Arkon Ohio where the fab 4 was started when they where in the 6th graded they started to play on a travel basketball team that was formed by Dru father it was a AAU ball. They started at the slavation army gym on Maple street. Fab 4 was made up of Dru,Lebron,Sian,Willie there travel ball team name was the shooting star right away they all had good chemistry and became from strangers to best friends that where at eachothers house every weekend and spending the night. They didnt have alot of money so they has to start a funraiser to get all the stuff they needed. There first big touranment was in Florida and they finished in second place better then anyone thought they would. Then Lebron got into a scandel because he was the best high school basketball player and his team was number 1 in the nation. He couldnt play for the rest of his senior year in high school cause he got gifts. He would cry everyday at practice cause he couldnt play with his team. But then Lebron took it to court and got re instated so now he could play the championship. And they ended up winning that title in his senior. This story shows alot of courage for a young man who was followed by ESPN at such a young age. Also to fight through the struggles that he grow up with as his father died so it was just him and his mother. He was drafted straight out of high school in 2004.
"King James: Believe the Hype" is a biography about a then high school superstar LeBron James. The author, Ryan Jones, does a great job of explaining and describing LeBron James' life from a young boy growing up in Akron, Ohio, to adulthood and superstardom. The authors' purpose for writing this book is to entertain and inform the reader what the life of an adolescent superstar is like.
The style that Ryan Jones used was chronilogical order, meaning that Jones went from LeBron's younger years, moving along towards his older years as the chapters ascended. I personally think that the way Jones used his style made the book much easier to follow because if he would have just scrambled random periods of times of James' life, the story would not have flowed or made much sense.
The theme of the book is to show people that hard work will pay off, no matter where you grow up from. For example, LeBron grew up in a poor family, but has emerged into one of the world's greatest athletes because of his hard work and dedication. Jones did a phenomenal job of describing LeBron's struggles as well as his success, which made the story much more intriguing in my opinion.
I personally fell in love with this book after reading just a few pages because of the way Ryan Jones described LeBron's life so vividly. For example, Jones very well described LeBron's personal relationships with his friends and how he has kept them throughout his life. I reccomend "King James: Believe the Hype" to any basketball-loving teen wanting to learn more about a worldwide superstar. I give this book a solid 5 stars out of 5, very well written, Mr. Jones.
King James by Ryan Jones is a sports novel about a young man to turn into a future NBA star. As the story begins Lebron james starts as a young man who is just now realizing his popularity. He has interview with popular magazines, sneakers deal, NBA stars asking for him even though he is still a High School student. With all of this going through his head at the time he doesn't let it get to him still maintains good grades and plays basketball and football. He is then selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers where he turns into a star winning the rookie of the year award also playing on the Olympic team. I really enjoyed this book on so many levels. The story is very entertaining and interesting. There is no twist each part of his life is broken down into different categories where everything is in order. Tells you the story behind the big 6 foot 8 NBA star . How he was getting endorsements before he got drafted. People was hype that he was attending a NBA game and he was not even playing. Shows how the man is humble and not being stuck up and cocky. For example, his personality is great he encourages others on the team if they get a loss. Even though he is a Star in the NBA he continues to have a positive relationship with the other on his high school team. Especially the the four that he calls his “Brothers.” I would recommend this book others that are around my age. Especially the ones who plan on playing any sports teams. The entertainment is this is high quality each page you turn the interest gets higher. Gives you the back story behind the NBA future Hall of Fame. I would definitely read any other books about NBA stars personal life before they got all the fame.
LeBron James is a 6'8" goliath for the Cleveland Cavaliers. This book takes place between 1999-2003. This story begins when LeBron and his friends the fab 4 make the decision on where to go to high school. One of the members of the fab 4, Dru Joyce lll wanted to go to St. Vincent St. Mary. SVSM had a great coach with very good role players. LeBron and the rest of the fab 4 agreed that would be the best decision for their basketball careers. LeBron played football as well as basketball in his first 2 years at SVSM. He was a tremendous athlete so he was a great football as well. Many people say that if LeBron stuck to football he would probably be one of the best football players ever too. During LeBron's basketball career in SVSM LeBron wasn't just a ball hog who had the ball in his hands every second (like you would expect from an amazing high school player.) LeBron was a very unselfish player with great basketball I.Q. As the story progresses you see all the attention a NBA player would normally get that a high school kid is getting such as interviews, magazine covers, and even people asking for his autograph. Some people believed that the NBA should get rid of their rule so that LeBron could go to the NBA after his Junior year. LeBron finished his high school career with 3 state championship wins, losing one to Roger Bacon High School. Whether you like or dislike LeBron he is the best high school basketball player ever and one of the greatest NBA basketball players ever. I gave this book a 4/5 stars because LeBron is my favorite player and I think this book did a great job showing his story throughout high school.
Lebron James is one of the best to ever play the game of basketball. I think that the author wrote this book to show how it all started. I think he wrote this book to show what he did when he was going through high school. Also the author talked a lot about what made Lebron the best to play high school basketball. He also talked about the media that he went though at such a young age. The theme of this book was about Lebron James and everything that he has made his life. It really shows what he went though as a kid and what he had to deal with. It is mostly about how good he was at such a young age and all the things that came with that. It also talks about what he did when he made it to the NBA. It talked about how close he was with his mom even when she was going though some things in her life that was bad for her and her son. The way that this book was told was in narration because it was told in a way that it kind of put things in order of what was going on in his life. It was also in a time line of his life from when he was younger to when he was older. I personal loved this book because I am a big Lebron James fan. I liked the book because it helped me find out more about the life of Lebron not just the basketball player that I watch on TV. I think that the author did a great job of getting everything in this book that a fan would want to know. I think that if you are a lebron James fan this is a must read book for you.
I think that this book was one of the best that I have read in my life. In this book it talks about Lebron and his life as a kid all the way up to his NBA career. When he was little he didnt really have a father involved in his life. He moved into a school friends house. There he was intorduced to the world of basketball by his friends dad. Then he played on a AAU team with his "brother" and there friends. They were really good and won most of their games. After middle school they all made a choice that would chage their lifes. They chose to go to St. Vincent-St. Mary highschool. In his highschool career they won 3 state championships. His highschool recored 101 win and 6 losses. He also won 3 Mr. Ohio basketball awards. When he was out of highschool the shoe company Nike offered him a 90 million dollar contract for 7 years. Lebron then entered in the NBA draft. He was the 1st overall pick in the draft, and he went to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I think that the author Ryan Jones did an amazing job writing this book. He put alot of detail in the story that I would never known about LeBron, but I know after I read the book. The reasons I liked the book are that it explained what he was going though as a kid and a teenager. It also told me that there is a lot more to life to him than basketball. It went beond the walls of LeBron just playing basketball. I would recommand this book to any LeBron James fans out there and even people who arent fan of his. I say this because he is a very good person on and off the court.
I actually choose to read this book because I am a huge Lebron James fan. Lebron James is one of the biggest basketball stars in the NBA today. He is different because of his immediate success from high school. I wanted to read more about his life and what he did before he became a star. The book is divided into different time periods. Each time period talks about a different thing, such as Lebron's childhood, his parents, his high school career, his first basketball tournament and much more. Basically, this is a biography which chronicles different phases that are important. Lebron was different from the surrounding players because he was so physically developed at a young age. He seemed to be much stronger, faster and more athletic that his peers. He was able to dominate at any stage and virtually carried his team. I think the book also shows how strong Lebron was in addition to his skill. He was able to remain humble, nice and become a even better person. Many players who accomplish a lot happen to lose it or fade because of their ego. Lebron supplements his success with extreme dedication which is why he is where he is today. I think this book is a good example of what it means to work hard and to not take care to what you are already given. Working hard is something that everyone should do no matter what success they have.
This book is about my favorite basketball player Lebron James A.K.A King James. Before LeBron James had completed his sophomore year of high school, basketball scouts were discussing his chances of playing for the National Basketball Association. Before playing his first regulation game for the NBA, James had signed deals with Nike and other corporations for multimillion-dollar product endorsements. Before he completed his rookie season in the NBA, sportswriters were discussing his chances of joining the most elite players in history in the Basketball Hall of Fame
sportswriters began calling James "The Chosen One," indicating the hope that the rookie phenomenon would revive interest in the NBA that had declined since Jordan's retirement. LeBron James, by age eighteen, knew a thing or two about dealing with pressure. James's ability to cope with that pressure has proven to be a critical factor in his success. Sportswriters and his coaches agreed that James has shown uncommon maturity for a player his age, handling his newfound fame and the extraordinary expectations of others with grace.

The writing is good but the story behind Lebron James’s youth leaves me with wanting more but know that there isn’t much more to know. This book is not boring but it does over decorate the life of a high school super star. I was surprised when LeBron decided not to attend college. I think if you read this book the main point that you must get out of the story is to never give up and to always follow your dreams. My overall opinion of this book is that I liked it. It pulled me in as soon as I started reading it. The whole book was great and exciting in most parts such as LeBron's final game in High School and the 2003 NBA Draft. It was about basketball and LeBron's life. I love the sport of basketball, but I didn't like reading LeBron's entire life. It was just tedious to read some of the chapters that I didn't think were necessary in this story. This is a book for every fan of LeBron James and for anybody interested in reading about an NBA legend in the making. But I won't tell you any more about this book, just read it.
This book is about my favorite basketball player Lebron James. Lebron James or known as King James. Number 23. Was a 6 foot 8 NBA star. Lebron James was a funny comedian guy who always cheers for the team and what makes him unique is because he isn't selfish. This book tells you his basketball life from when he was young to a now amazing nba superstar. lebron was a great athlete, not only was a early recognized in basketball but he was also recognized as a football player. this man could have actually been a pro football player if he didn't go to the NBA straight out of st vincent st mary high school in Cleveland.
I always followed my dreams, as Lebron Quotes.
I rate this book a 5 because this is like a biography about one of my favorite stars. It's one and only King James and I admire him. GO CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! or New York Knicks. WHICH EVER TEAM HE'S IN, I'LL CHEER FOR.
for the past couple months i have been reading a book about lebron james called "king james believe the hype". this book is about lebron's rise to nba stardom from highschool to the league.also this book details the life and journey for lebron to make it to the nba and his impact when he arrived.
for the most part i really enjoyed this book it really taught me a lot and i could see that the journey was not easy for lebron.i learned a lot about lebron and what he had to go through it really inspired to not stop and follow my dreams.i liked everything about the book there was nothing i disliked.
i think people that play sports would really enjoy this book because i feel like that could relate to this book in a way and that it will have a positive impact on them.
This book is all about LeBron James' life. His ongoing success through life...his struggles....his entire life is wrapped into this book. Once a highschool star at Saint V's in Akron, OH is now an NBA all-star. But none of it would have happened without LeBron's life. There isn't really a climax but visualization was key in this biography. The author almost made you feel as if you were LeBron on the court that night. You don't have to like LeBron or even basketball for that matter to understand and enjoy this book. I reccommend it to anyone. If you dont like long pages describing endorsement deals and struggles he went through this book probably wont entertain you or keep you informed.
King James , belive in the hype by Ryan jones is a inspirational and true story about a Lebrun James growing up and becoming a basketball legend. Lerner goes through conflict with the media and has difficulties that he has to overcome. Lebrun James has to make a big decision weather to go to th NFL or the NBA. In the book, jones doesn't only talk about Lebrun by all about the whole team and all the players and how they were a family both in basketball and in football. I really liked this book and whenever I rad it, it got me hyped. If you lve basketball and love true story's I really suggest this book and it is very intriguing.

Before reading this story I did not really like LeBron. I have more respect for LeBron after reading about all he went through as a young kid growing up without a father. I also admire how he handled all of the pressure like a pro when he was just a teenager. The only problem I had with the book was it got a little repetitive at times. I still find it hard to believe that LeBron became one of the best basketball players in America when he was just a few years older than I am now. I think anyone who dislikes LeBron should read this book because his story will change your opinion.
I read this book because I like basketball, and I'm interested in Lebron James's Life. There are lots of pages, long book to read, but I think it is very good to know who Lebron James is. Even Lebron James got special talent as a basketball player, he did practice every single day. How much he put his effort for practice related what results he got in games. He did his best to make himself as a very special basketball player. It is very important to remember that we need to keep efforts if there are something we make it come true. I highly recommend to my friends.
