This is the first Kira Sinclair book I've read and won't be the last. Caught off Guard kept me thinking as I turned pages. The element of suspense I didn't expect but it added so much to the story. I like how Ms. Sinclair didn't sugar coat the mother in this story even though she was sick. People simply don't change all that much in thier lives, even if they're on their last lap in life. Blake was a wounded hero, and Anne really needed him to put her life back in order. The sex was hot, and the emotion easily felt for this reader.

I enjoyed the book, but it was hard to be sympathetic toward the heroine. She wasn't very likable until halfway through the book. Once I understood her motivation behind the behavior the book was a lot better!
It was a good story. I enjoyed the chemistry between Anne and Blake. Some hot scenes..which are always nice. It was a quick read. Liked not loved it...it just needed a bit more punch to get it in the 4-5 star range for me.
