In the final installment of Billy Dering’s Utopia Project trilogy, the truths uncovered and the twists that follow, will rewrite history…
The battered survivors of the apocalyptic event, losing cover at their new hideaway, are attacked and trapped in an underground tunnel system by hostile Utopia Project troops. A small contingent of survivors flies to the last area of the world left unscathed in Italy. Unfortunately for Kid Carlson, Sara Hyland and her father, General Hyland, the enemy is one step ahead and they are being guided by the traitorous Heidi Leer. A dogfight ensues, and the survivors take refuge under the Isle of Capri in a series of Roman-era secret chambers. After torpedoing their combatants, the survivor group limps back to America.
Back in New Jersey, the enemy has restored communication with one of their satellites. Now unable to hide, the survivors hastily develop a life or death plan to wipe out the leaders of the Utopia Project and take control of the 20,000 project members. Their offensive nearly succeeds until one of the three massive Utopia Project ships, commandeered by the escaping Elder-3, pulls up anchor to make a break for it. When shocking revelations about General Hyland’s past and Sara Hyland’s mother start coming out, a distraught Sara runs back to her home on the mainland. There she is ambushed by familiar, hostile enemies who also have miraculously survived. A colossal clash ensues when Kid and General Hyland desperately try to save Sara. The outcome, the truths uncovered, and the twists that follow, will rewrite history…
After experiencing the pandemic, the rise of post-apocalyptic stories resurfaced, and this whole series uses that experience as an anchor. The 3rd installment of the Utopia Project provided us with all the closure for this series. When all the survivors travel to the remaining safe place which is Italy, and there they conspire to fight back against the enemy and reclaim peace and order in the world.
This book has such a great plot that gives you the vibes of post-apocalyptic stories but it hits closer to home because we lived it. It is kind of scary but also it fills me with so much hope that in the end the good prevails. Sara’s character has progressed so much in this story and the author built us a champion that we deserve. It is a great story and since this is the 3rd book, I would highly recommend reading the first 2 books so that you feel the story as a whole. Great writing to the part of the author he wrote such compelling dialogues and scenes worthy of a miniseries.
Reading Utopia Project by Dering provided me with an entry into a world of fantasy, painted so realistically that characters and emotional content become realistic. The battered survivors of the apocalyptic event have been described as heroes. The bond the author has portrayed between them and the other characters challenging encounters their mutual admiration and interdependency. This tale is one that has enhanced my appreciation of this type of thriller where the impossible and the possible mingle. The book is perfectly well-thought-out and written, it is insightful and digestible. Action, wonderfully imaginative atmospheres, and a solid character development make this an important novel to cherish and enjoy during the winter season.
Honestly, I loved the story concept, characters and descriptions that made me fall prey to the story which is fast paced, exciting and well written. Wrapping up a long, complex trilogy isn’t an easy thing; however, I strongly believe that Billy made an incredible job with this third installment as well as with the previous ones. I like that the story is extraordinarily developed in many different places such as The Isle of Capri, New Jersey and Italy, among others. This gives a very interesting point of view. I'd been dying to read how it all ends for the main characters and this last chapter of the Utopia Project series didn’t disappoint me. To conclude, this title is full of tension from beginning to end. Undoubtedly, we’re in front of a fascinating book.
Utopia Project: The Arrow of Time is the final chapter of the trilogy, written by Billy Dering. In this delivery, we find our heroes Carlson and Sara running and hiding from the Utopia Project troops. This novel changes completely from the first two books since it reveals the final truth, guiding the reader to understand what lies beneath.
I really enjoyed this book, especially the ending. I could appreciate the growth in the characters, the story gets deeper and deeper, which made me read page by page until the end. It's a medium size story, easy to read on an exciting afternoon. Definitely recommended for readers who enjoy a good war story filled with twists and turns!
Billy Dering is the author of "The Arrow of Time", the third installment in the Utopia Project series. In this series, we meet Kid Carlson and Sara Hyland, some young people who have to stick together if they want to survive.
The twists and turns of this dystopia are super engaging; author Dering is a great creator of scenarios and a great storyteller. Each of the scenes is very well described. As regards the characters, they are very well portrayed and it is easy to emphasize with them.
I really recommend this series and especially this last book. Certainly, I plan to stick to the full series over the weekend. Highly recommended.
Utopia Project: The Arrow of Time by author Billy Dering is the third part of the series and one that left me breathless. I must start by saying that I totally recommend reading this book and the previous ones too because I enjoyed them all. The story, the plot and the characters captivated me as soon as I started reading this book. The author excelled in narrative techniques, making the reader feel immersed in the story. I would undoubtedly recommend this book to those who enjoy fiction and a post apocalyptic story which is full of twists and turns.
