By writing down your worries and hurts you are putting your faith in God that he will use your writing to bring you to a place of self-knowledge that he can use to heal you. Today we face so many challenges that cause anxiety and distrust that leaves us miserable and afraid. By bringing our troubles in prayer to God we can find peace. We all need the peace that passes all understanding and that is what the gift of prayer can bring. People are suffering collectively and you may be personally carrying your own inner turmoil that is just as heavy and as burdensome. At times like these, peace can be found by relying on the goodness and grace of God. Journaling allows you to slow down and focus your thoughts, to unplug and disconnect as you pray and meditate on the Bible. Journaling can become a good way to connect with God. Journaling helps to persevere in the journey you are on with Christ and it also helps to open up to God. It helps you to be more honest with God and with yourself. Keeping a journal can be powerful. It is cathartic. It can empty your mind and give you peace. It feels good to get all of those thoughts and feelings out of your head and down on paper. The world seems clearer. Journal writing can be a daily habit where you download the thoughts out of your mind onto paper. In doing so you can bring to God the trials and tribulations of your life. This can be transformative. You can feel calmer, happier and closer to God as it is another form of communicating with him. Sometimes our reflection on a difficult day can be very painful. We can begin to see with clarity our own refusal to understand, listen, be compassionate and treat other people with kindness. Sometimes this is because other people would not agree or conform to our values – praising, and serving us and our ideas – so we reject them and treat them badly. Our pride and ego took pole position. The important thing is not to analyse our experience, but to contemplate it in Christ’s presence and let him show us where we have let him be in us and where we have refused to let him be. Thank him for the times we have let his glory through and beg his forgiveness for the times when we have not. As you pray feel Christ’s presence standing with you as you relive the day and giving you peace, understanding and forgiveness. Philippians 4 : 6-7 (6) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Daily prayer is a key component of our daily life in developing our relationship with God. Jesus would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.—Luke 5:16. Please consider leaving a positive review so that Christians may find this book. May Christ walk with you in any wilderness that you know. And the blessing of God; Creator, Christ and Holy Spirit be with you and remain with you now and always. Amen.
