This book is simply gorgeous. It made me nostalgic for my Star Cowgirl days.
Short essays for a quick and easy history lesson in each section and tons of beautiful photos. Nice closeup shots of cowboy gear, just as the title implies. Maybe only horse people would drool over this the way I did, but I absolutely adored every shot of the saddles, the hats, the scarves, the chaps, the boots, and everything else the author captured on film.
There were action shots also, giving a sense of the type of work a true cowboy used to do and even the conditions they had to do it in. Snowstorms, rain, crossing rivers. It's a mini time capsule inside an impressive coffee table book.
I loved it.
