Amanda's Texas Rangers

Rate this book
[#214 Siren Menage Erotic Western Menage a Trois Romance, M/F/M] Amanda Keller's only goal was to help her mother and sister escape her father's abuse. She certainly didn't need the two hard-nosed Texas Rangers meddling in her business. Texas Rangers Zane Owens and Rand Sloane have their own mission. When they catch the raven-haired beauty about to shoot a man, they don't believe a word of her lies but have no choice but to let her go. Once they find her again, however, all bets are off. Amanda has no option but to lie to them and escape, only to find herself in more trouble than she bargained for. Soon, they not only rescue her, but outmaneuver her and make her an enticing offer of their own, one that would give her the escape she's looking for. But feelings have a way of sneaking in when she least expects it, turning her world upside down. In a town where their relationship isn't accepted by all, living the way they are could be risky indeed, especially when men are willing to do whatever they have to in order to satisfy their greed. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Tala’s Review

I loved this story. It has everything someone could want to read about. Amanda is a young widow who is trying to track down and kill the outlaw, Raphael, in order to get back the gold his gang stole from her father, so he will let her mother and sister go. Rand and Zane are the Texas Rangers who find her before she can do it. Their adventures after that, lead to lust, romance, and love for the three of them.

The characters drew me in right from the start. Amanda is a strong willed young woman who has survived a lifetime of abuse, by first her father, and later her husband. Rand and Zane are attracted to her spirit as well as her looks. The longer they spend with her, the more certain they are that she is the woman they are looking for. The two of them have plans that include a new wife for them to share, and they think Amanda is tough enough to fit the bill. Both men are strong, sexy, and tender at the same time. They allow and encourage Amanda's personality to grow and evolve as she comes to accept the love they offer to her and to return it to them.

There were no lulls in the storyline. It was fast paced and full of action from beginning to end. The romance was great, and the sex was hot, hot, hot! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Amanda’s Texas Rangers. The only thing wrong with the story was that it ended. I look forward to reading more by Lana Dare.

Well, not quite like what I expected.

Mostly because I kind of expected some "force" or at least misunderstanding between both Hero and heroine. In the start, both Hero mistaken the heroine as a spy yet the writer's execution is weak and seemed very "easy". I need more!

Amanda *scoff* is one strong woman with this strong willing to save her mom and her sister no matter what. Even though it means she has to steal. Zane and Rand are Texas Rangers who thought that she's spy because she pointed a gun over a guy they brought.

I didn't really pay attention to this book, in fact I skipped a lot. Not that I hate it, no, it was because.. This Amanda girl's unstabble. In my opinion. Why? One time she refuse to surrender but then she meekly falls to both Zane and Rand's arms. And it seems only Rand who "enjoyed" Amanda's body. Zane were left behind. I don't like it.

But, there are some points that I love from this book. First Miss Brooke bring up the issues about "one woman marry two men". I've been wondering since reading Maya Banks books, especially Miss Banks put that situation very "normal" and acceptable where in fact in real world it's unusual and, let's be real, it's weird. If you're doing threesome, it's okay. But marry two guys? Not yet, I think. Or maybe it's just me, I don't know. Second, the angst is max! How I wish at least Amanda hurt even more right when Rafael captured her. Hmmmm.

Anyway, so far so good. :)

A young woman seeking to free her mother and sister from an alcoholic, abusive husband/father is searching for the gang and for the gold they stole in order to pay her mother's "ransom." Two Texas Rangers interfere, saving her from murder charges, but interfering with her plan to insure her family's safety. They are quite taken with her, agreeing to help free her mother if she will "marry" them. They plan to ranch as their enlistment in the Rangers is over. When they return to Austin they find out that they must remain with the Rangers as Captains, Amanda earns the ire of some of Austin's older matrons because she has two husbands, her father is jailed because he beat up her mother, and so on. A rather fun and romping Western historical featuring this historic law enforcement agency that is still alive and kicking today.

What can I say? I love all of Leah Brooke's books, some more than others, but they are all good and this is no exception. A fast paced story line, no dragging, some unexpected happenings within what could be a predictable story line. Interesting characters that are well developed without getting bogged down on their past but conctrating on their interactions with each other.
An overall good read that will definitely be on my 'to read again' list

It was okay, is all I can say about it... Some insta-love on everyone's behalf, lots of unrealistic stuff, and I didn't really connect with the heroine and I don't know whether that's because of me, because of the writing, or both. The sex, however, was pretty decent.
