The last two and a half years of Katie Price's life have been anything but quiet. And yet through it all, while her private life continues to be played out on the front pages of the tabloids, Katie has always stuck to what she does best - combining a successful career with the two biggest loves of her life: her three beautiful children and her horses.
In this, the latest dazzling instalment of her autobiography, Katie reveals the many highs and lows of the past few years, the challenges she has overcome, and the exhilaration of trying new things. Throughout a highly publicised divorce, her return to the I'm A Celebrity jungle, and her romantic Las Vegas wedding to Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid, Katie has always managed to make the most of every minute.
From the woman who always speaks her mind, You Only Live Once gives her devoted and loyal fans the truth behind the headlines, as once again Katie's unflappable nature, humour and incredible determination allow her to set the record straight and tell her side of this rollercoaster story.
Born as Katie Infield in Brighton, East Sussex, England on May 22 1978, I changed my last name to Price when my mother Amy remarried. I have an older brother, Daniel, and a younger sister, Sophie.
Although I had many interests when I was younger, a friend suggested that I should pursue a modeling career. So I sent a few shots to an agency and was taken on. I attended loads of castings, had my fair share of negative responses then one day, in a studio next to where I was working, a model failed to turn up for a shoot. The photographer asked around if anyone would be interested in doing a topless shoot… and the rest, as they say, is history!
My topless modeling career took off in 1996 when I appeared in The Sun as part of the ‘Page 3′ pictorial. The legendary section of the tabloid features a different girl each day posing topless. I was the first topless model to grace the Page 3 for a whole week – fully dressed on a Monday, then each day revealing more and more untill Friday – full topless. The exposure boosted my career and I soon became one of the UKs most famous models, under the pseudonym ‘Jordan.’
From there on I graced many magazine front covers , not just in the UK but also across Europe. My popularity soon reached even further afield and I posed for Playboy, landing on the front cover of the September 2002 issue.
I have been through many well-publicised relationships. And my illnesses, including the removal of a tumor from one of my fingers and complications with my pregnancies and family, have been very public.
After a bunch of boring books, Katie Price was just the thing for me! Read in under 24 hours. Was so looking forward to reading this and it didn't disappoint. Here she describes the end of her marriage to Pete, the way she was treated by the press afterwards. I've always thought Pete was an expert at playing the press after they split. Because without Katie who is Pete? Just after they split Pete came to the shop I work at, to promote his new album which thanks to all the saint Pete and sinner Katie press went to number one. We had to turn round all the magazines with Katie's face on and he was 2 hours late! And lets be honest, 2 years later what is Pete doing now? Hosting competitions on 'This Morning'. As for her marriage to Alex, well that didn't last. I think she must have been on the rebound big time. I guess we will hear about it in her next book, which I am very excited for :)
This was probably more of an insight to Katie Price than any of her other biographies. She says such a lot without actually saying it at all! For instance she globetrots without the children such a lot, as they are 'with Pete' how conveinient - no childcare to fund! She was her own worst enemy when she kept up with the filming for ITV although she positively hated the experience and told us so on every other page. So, although it would have cost her and Peter Andre money to bail - why didn't she? It was the main reason she gave for her marriage breakdown, and it may have even wrecked her life. Not that much though as she did another reality show (What Katy did next) when she split with Peter. After all what's money when she flies to LA at least twice a year to get her hair extensions done (£6000) her Botox, fillers and her veneers and of course the odd boob job!.
The sadest part is the ending where she waxes lyrical about the love of her life - Alex Reid. She was so impressed with his warm character and his honesty. Whoops! we all now know how that turned sour very quickly.
I didn't expect any literary gems here and wasn't disappointed, the style and prose was that of an average person with the audience pulling power of the average person. Readable but take it with a pinch of salt. She tells you only what she wants the reader to hear.
It was good to have an insight into her side of the story of the split with Peter and I do think that she has been unfairly judged. It's very strange to hear about how she feels about Alex and how quickly she moved him in etc seeing as obviously we all know now it never worked out. It was an interesting read and she talks about Peter an awful lot, it's an easy read. I am ready for the next instalment!
I actually enjoyed this book. It’s another installment in the many autobiographies Katie has written, this one focusing on the post–Peter Andre breakup years. Nothing groundbreaking, but it delivers what you’d expect: drama, honesty, and Katie’s side of things. I liked it, though I’ll admit I’m team Katie, so I might be a bit biased.
This book was good, took me a while to read as it was slightly repetitive but a good book to read when you're unsure about what you're wanting to read next.
I haven't been picking up my books lately because college is starting, I'm getting more shifts at work and I just haven't had the motivation nor time to read. Although, having just finished Katie's latest reality TV show, Katie Price: My Crazy life, it's inspired me to continue with my autobiography binge.
One thing I've got to say is, it doesn't matter what Katie goes through, she'll always come out stronger on the other end. And I can see what people mean by this autobiography being slightly repetitive, but it's mainly about her trying to be the best mother she can, divorcing and remarrying to Alex Ried and generally just having fun - something which played a big factor in the breaking down of Katie and Peter.
Yes, You Only Live Once was published in 2010 but I feel that it still rings true for 2018 because as of now, there are still incredibly negative stories being published about Katie Price in the media - and after reading this, you don't know what to believe. I don't know how she handles it, but she's incredibly strong to handle all of this, a divorce and the effects of having a miscarriage in such a short space of time. I really don't use this word, but she is such a trooper!
I had enjoyed reading this one of Katie prices. It just shows how difficult it has been for her to go threw what she had done with the divorce and miscarriage with Peters child yeah I am a fan of Peter andre but now I am becoming more of a fan of Katie Price at the same time. yeah she might have gone straight to another relationship while divorcing from Peter but life doesn't just stop there. The kids deserve both parents in life not one or the other. I had enjoyed reading this book like I had said and I would read it again and again I had enjoyed it that much she isn't just a mother she is also a business women who is supporting her family the best possible way in life
Well now I know KP's side of the story.. At the end of this book she is with Alex Reid and it's very strange reading how much she is in love with him knowing how that plays out.
I read this book in a few hours. Easy to glide through and lots of picture sections too.
A bit like popcorn chicken. Tasty and made me feel guilty but now I'm satiated and brushing salt from my tshirt!!
I'm a little biased. I think Katie Price is fascinating. The book is enjoyable. She obviously had a ghost writer help her, or write the whole thing. It think its interesting to see how she views the events that happen in her life. She says she's a strong woman, but I think she likes to portray that more than it being the truth.
this book I didn't like as much as the other but it showed that after recovering from her split she got with cage fighter alex reid and how there lover flourished and this took me quite awhile to read
Don't know why I continued reading this book to the end. It was so boring and she jus kept repeating herself this book did my head in and buy the end I just wanted t throw it through the window with temper
A good insight into the relationship and break up between Katie Price and Peter Andre. Easy read. Wasn't so interested in her relationship with Alex Reid towards the end though.
The saying 2 Sides to every story has never been more true than for this book. We all are guilty of believing what the papers say me included but after reading this book if there was a team Pete team Katie I am now on Team Katie. As she went through her break up from Pete Katie never spoke to the papers so if you want her side of the story then read this I think she makes some very good points about why Pete never stopped the press writing what they did about the mother of his children and just let people believe that she was the bad one. I for one have lost all respect for Peter Andre after reading this book
I find Katie Price to be absolutely fascinating as an individual - I have met her a few times and found her to be nothing but pleasant and polite, yet the media will have her portrayed as a bit of a car crash. This is exactly why I read this book; I wanted to hear her side of things, the side that hasn't been twisted by the media. As with her first autobiography, I came away feeling impressed and pleased with how well she handles things and how fiercely independent Katie is. She doesn't hold anything back and it's nice to read a biographical account with no holds barred! I'll definitely be reading the net couple - in fact I've already started on the next one!
This is the second book y Katie Price I have read. (Right now reading book 3) It is just easy to read and one thing is true, she is not boring. Well her life is not. She has a tendency to repeat a lot of things though. I do believe she does love her children in her way. Thankfully she has many people to help her. Her mum does most of the work and raising Harvey though and then she has the shall I say it... Nannies. (Whom the husband she has now apparently had an affair with against his will of course lol)
As someone else said, she is constantly harping on that her marriage with Pete failed because of them constantly having cameras filming them. (No it had nothing to do with her being so controlling and being egocentric and always wanted things to go her way. No mam ofcourse not.
The cameras were to blame and her production team . Oh and Pete of course.
Then for her to still making the same mistakes. She is not that bright because she is definitely not learning of her mistakes. In the second part of this book she is gushing over Alex Reid. How gentle he is. How original and brave with him being upfront with her about him enjoying wearing women's clothes. She married him after a very short time.
It was fun reading this (and more fun even when i began the next book and all that she loved about Alex she now hated.)
