I don't normally mark picture books. As a classroom teacher with 9 reading groups reading a book a day, I tend to read and have read to me quite a few! However, I had to rate and review this one. "Gasp!" was hilarious! I had a group of 7 first graders read this story. It is marked at a guided reading level J / DRA 18. They had a great time practicing their expression using this book. One ended up on the floor with her hands up in the air for dramatics! We were all laughing throughout the majority of this book and kids were quick to remind peers to put some expression in it. To quote Dr. Seuss, it was "lots of good fun that is funny."

The harrowing tale of a fish out of water... WHO did that to the toilet? Will he find water in time? Will he *GASP!* die?
