Hilarious illustrations, captions, and sidebars take away the glamour and romance of being a soldier in the Roman Army in the year AD 98 and illustrates the darker side of this profession. Simultaneous.
This is a great series for reluctant readers! This book follows the life of a average Roman soldier. It goes into great detail about what the soldier would accomplish during their life in the army and what their daily routine would be. Done with fabulous illustrations, the reader can learn as much in the drawings as they can in the written words. A great book for any fan of history or Roman culture.
An excellent book to fire the imagination of children. Packed full of interesting facts, the funny pictures and suitably gruesome information makes this a sure fire hit.
Great book with a lot of information about what it meant to be a Roman soldier. I wish it would have shown the Roman provinces though, some of them being: Iberia/Hispania (Spain), provinces of Gaul, Germania, France, Sicily, Cilicia, Italy, and one of the last being Britannica, etc.
You Wouldn't Want to
