When a horrible bug filled the land and everything stopped, the whole world went in to lockdown! Follow Alfie on his isolation adventure! What did he do? What did he learn? When would he see his friends again? When The Bug Came was created during the Covid 19 lockdown 2020. The idea came about during a broken night's sleep and completion was around 5 months later through self publication. All illustrations were hand drawn and coloured by the author and the featured dot work became a therapeutic process of isolation. The aim of the book is to inspire children to look at the bigger picture of life especially in challenging and changing circumstances. Although each child's story of lockdown will be different, this colourful version of events explores the given opportunities isolation had to offer. To slow down, to learn, to create, come together and appreciate people and the world we live in. To promote kindness, gratitude and an overall wellbeing of humanity and life. Along the way there is an overview of the ups and downs of Alfie's lockdown experience, in sweet colourful pictures to illustrate these unprecedented times. When The Bug Came - Resonating, eye-opening and encouraging!

I have a serious book addiction. I read all kinds of things. I write too. I love Goodreads because it allows me to interact with other serious book addicts like me. I never do the intro page in groups, because I figure you'll get to know me soon enough from my posts. Or you'll come to my profile page.
