Cameron and Blake have been best friends since elementary school. But everything changed last summer, when, just before Blake left for college, Cam kissed him. The two spent a year apart, unable to confront their feelings for each other. Now it's summer and Blake has finally returned home. When Blake visits Cameron during Cameron's Fourth of July barbecue, the two can no longer ignore the sparks between them, and with a little luck, not all the fireworks will be in the sky.

This is a great (much too) short story about two best friends meeting after the older one has been away at college for a year. I loved the way you could feel Cameron and Blake reconnecting, both scared their friendship would be ruined if they took it further. Their emotions were very close to the surface and I felt their love for each other clearly. Very well done!

A sweet, angst-free story about two young best friends falling in love. Mr. Cooper doesn't really add anything new to the topic, in this short story. I would've given it 3 stars, BUT, the cuteness of the younger kids is just too good to ignore. EVEN IF it sort of reminiscing scenes from his earlier book that I have read "Broken Bones, Mended Hearts".

Cameron and Blake have been best friends since childhood. Right before Blake left for college, Cam gave into temptation and kissed him…before fleeing to avoid facing Blake’s reaction.

A year later, Blake is back home and at Cam’s family’s Fourth of July barbeque. He’s determined to talk about that kiss and Cam is worried he’s going to lose his best friend forever. But Blake has a surprise for Cam this summer – one that involves creating some “fireworks” of their own.

Get ready for a story that has all the excitement and spark of, well, fireworks. William Cooper has delivered a delightful tale that manages to be both sweet and sexy at the same time. Cam and Blake are two close friends navigating their way into love and I was charmed by watching their journey. Fast-paced and fun, Fireworks is a treat worth savoring over and over and over again.

Cute, short read. Nothing really different about it and nothing all that outstanding. It is just that a simple, cute, short.
