One killer. Three missing women. Time is running out.
A young woman’s body is discovered in the remote Sussex countryside. A student, tortured and killed in the most heinous manner.
The savagery of the murder points to a deranged psychopath with a propensity for extreme violence. A killer with the darkest of minds.
When another female student is murdered in the same way, the race is on for DI Scott Baker and his team to stop this terrifying and sadistic killer before panic takes hold.
But when a face from Scott’s past resurfaces to haunt him, he finds himself between a rock and a hard place. His new life – already fragile – hangs in the balance as Scott is forced to put both career and relationship on the line.
Under almost unbearable pressure, can Scott close the case before he loses everything and everyone he cares about?
In Plain Sight – the fourth in the gripping crime series featuring DI Scott Baker.
Previously published by the author as Captive.

Crime Never Pays… Well yes and no depending on what side of the fence you’re on!
I’ve always had a strong passion for whodunnits, crime series, and books. The more I immersed myself in it, the stronger the fascination grew.
In my spare time, you’ll find me in the gym, reading, binge watching Netflix or taking walks in the forest.
Oh, and I’m an avid people watcher, I just love to watch people, their mannerisms, and their way of expressing their thoughts… weird I know, but I could spend hours doing that. It's funny, because watching people often gives me insights and inspiration for describing human interaction in my books.
Fun fact: My favourite, bestest place ever on earth? Any of the Florida theme parks and the mad coasters out there. Add the food, shopping and weather, and you've got the best place on earth... especially when I see the joy on the faces of my family when we're out there :)
Weird fact: Spending an afternoon in a mortuary to bring my books to life. Oops! poor choice of words there :)
Jay Nadal does it again, an excellent addition to a brilliant series.
DI Scott Baker and his team are faced with a case that sees a number of red headed female students being abducted and murdered ~ not just murdered, but mutilated and displayed for the unsuspecting to find. And as this wasn't enough, the team are still reeling from the loss of one of their own.
Scott also has to deal with an unwelcome face from his past, a face which seeks to rekindle a long dead flame. But Scott is no longer the naïve officer, who inadvertently fell for the charms of his superior, and he will not allow her to manipulate him ~ no matter the cost.
The story moves on a pace, short chapters building the tension.
An excellent read, could just as easily be read as a standalone as part of a series.

Book 4 in the series, the story works as a standalone. Following the rest of the series, the crime is revealed to the readers before Scott takes on the case from start to finish. In between, the chapters switch between the criminal and the investigation until they meet. The story is gripping and doesn't stop, the short chapters pushing the narrative forward.

To me this series gets better and better, book by book. Scott leads his team plus one new member in the hunt to find a depraved killer of redheads. Scott and his relationship with Cara flourishes but hits a little bump thank to the appearance of a DCI from his past. Abby is there to guide him through and the banter between these two always raised a smile. The next novel is calling.
Congratulations on yet another brilliantly written book which once I started reading it I could not put it down. I Absolutely enjoyed reading each and every one of these books.
Really enjoyed this the 4th installment with Scott and the tream. Kept me gripped throuhout and guessing what's going to happen next! Highly recommend this series but start at Book 1.
