The Man and His Family
Adam First and his family have been running the Number One Ranch in West Texas for generations. But now his daughter, driven by spite and revenge, has sold controlling interest to the local bank.

The Woman with Their Fate in Her Hands
Sheila Malone, a consultant for the bank, has to determine if Adam is managing the ranch properly and whether he should continue to oversee its operations.

The Choices They Have to Make
Adam can stay on - but only if he agrees to Sheila's recommendations. That's asking a lot. Adam is as inflexible as Sheila is strong-willed. And the heat between them isn't just from their disagreements about the destiny of the ranch.

This is a nice little harlequin romance story. Set in West Texas, on a hugh ranch owned by Adam First. Who has been betrayed by his daughter, Kerry. She sold her shares of the ranch to the bank. Now the bank has controlling interest and has sent a management consultant, Sheila Malone, to determine if Adam is managing the ranch properly. You can probably guess at the rest. A lot of twists and turns but a predictable happy ending. My favorite kind.

A bit erratic but mainly enjoyable read..I liked the main characters being older. There are nice TX descriptions and plenty of drama and action.
