A Woman's Forbidden Emotion

Rate this book
Did you know that it is OK to get angry? In fact, anger is a proper and godly response to some of the challenges we face. Written specifically for women and counselors, A Woman's Forbidden Emotion displaces the popular notion that good Christian women shouldn't get angry. Not for any reason, not at anyone, not ever. While the Bible instructs that believers should be long-suffering, it also shows how anger can be a vital tool in God's hands for bringing about needed change.

A great practical and useful tool to be aware of one's own 'anger style' and how to own, experience and express anger (and other compound emotions) in a healthy way.

I've been keeping an anger log which has helped me to observe the times and situations that make me prone to become frustrated and then, eventually angry.

Although I believe some issues and concepts addressed and presented were quite repetitive throughout the book, they could've wrote a good book with half its pages ;)

I recommend it! Although I didn't take much time answering all the Take Action sections I'll keep revisiting some key points and practices when needed.

Far longer than it needs to be and a lot less focus on spiritual transformation than I expected. as the final solution for anger issues. I found the most value in chapters 5 (as it relates to rage and resentment compared to indignation), 12, 13 and 14. While this isn't a bad book on anger, it's not one that I'd add to my women's small groups.
