Minutes before walking down the aisle,Princess Alyssa Sutherland—possible heir to theVerdonian throne—vanished into thin air. Rumorhas it that the lady in question wasn't marrying forlove. Did Her Highness catch a case of cold feet?Perhaps a certain oh-so-uninvited guest crashed theparty. Sources say Merrick Montgomery was spottedon the scene…and gossipmongers are buzzing withtales of a secret elopement. Did the dangerously sexyrebel kidnap the princess for political gain? Or didhe simply sweep our royal beauty off her feet?
I love family first and foremost, which is why writing family sagas and stories that involve family is so much fun. Maybe you can tell that from my books since they always feature the warmth and joy and ridiculousness that comes from having a close-knit family.
I also love animals and have taken in rescue dogs and cats and fostered dogs for the local animal shelter.
And of course, I love writing. All I need is a functioning brain (batteries not included), a pen, and paper, and I can write anywhere. Please don’t let a conversation with me lag because my imagination takes over and I. Am. Checked. Out!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my books. If you'd leave a review, I'd very much appreciate it. Authors are dependent on reviews in order to obtain ads and garner new readers. I love hearing from my readers. For a personal response, please contact me at Day@DayLeclaire.com.

While this is of the "Desire" imprint of Silhouette, it isn't nearly as "graphic" as some I've read. The story line was good & obviously sets up for the rest of the series.
Dah lama ga baca Harlequin (ini baca setahun yang lalu, Agustus 2010, dan baru nyadar baca pas ultah) Dan ceritanya simpel banget.
Cewenya, Alyssa dpaksa nikah ma pangeran negeri tetangga, Von Folke, gara2 ibunya dsandera, trus diculik. Pas mulai respek ma penculiknya, Merrick, eh Alyssa merasa terkhianati gara2 tau yang menculik ternyata bangsawan juga kek dia. Merrick ternyata adiknya Lander Montgomerry, pangeran negeri sebelah.
Dipaksa nikah (walaupun akhirnya malah saling suka) nyelamatin sang ibu, setelah tu Merrick merasa dikhianati Alyssa gara2 ga bisa jaga rahasia, ketika dtanya Von Folke, siapa yang gantiin Alyssa jadi istrinya. Sadar kalo tu cuma salah paham, lalu saling bilang I love You. End of Story. Banyak banget sih mengkhianatinya? =))
Sepertinya kasus kerajaan Verdonia belum selesai.
This is book one in a series of 3 set in a fictional country that is trying to determine who the next ruler of the country will be. Alyssa Sutherland suddenly finds out that she is a princess and under threat of punishment for her mother, she is marrying a man she fears and really doesn't know. Half an hour before the wedding she is abducted leading her to believe that her mother will be harmed when the wedding can't go through. A strange woman takes her place while her abductor gets her as far from the wedding as he can and refuses to let her out of his sight. This book sets the reader up with some information about the Verdonian political structure and why Alyssa's presence (or absense) is so important. Will there be a love match or just a victim of Stockholm syndrome? The book does have a happy end but leaves enough questions unanswered to set up the next two books in the series.
In The Forbidden Princess Day Leclaire brings a light quick read with another story true to form of what can be expected in the Harlequin Desire: a hunky hero (head of his countries security), a smart gorgeous American who returns to her native country after growing up in the US with her mom (and find out she really is a Princess), a setting that spins fantasies of elegant old world euruope and a love story to inspire dreams.
This book is the first in Day Leclaire’s Royals series (although, there is a short story prequel that if you enjoy this book can be found in the free reads on the Harlequin website). The story is set in a small European country called Verdonia and introduces the larger plotline of a political struggle taking place to elect a new royal ruler from the eligible Princes after the last king died. Day does a wonderful job of vividly portraying the landscapes and customs of the country, making it so realistic and enchanting I want to vacation there for myself.
The book depicts the story about a couple who defy the odds that brought them together and have to learn to trust each other in circumstances designed to foster distrust. The HEA is feels earned, doesn’t feel rushed and is very rewarding.
I enjoyed this book a lot because it is a fun, easy read to relax with. I have read it several times since it was first published in 2007.
This one puts the guilty back in guilty pleasure. The last week of Alyssa Sutherland's life has been a whirlwind. After receiving an urgent plea for help from her mother and a plane ticket to the tiny European country of Verdonia, Alyssa finds herself in the middle of a political storm. It turns out that she is a princess of one of Verdonia's three principalities and the king of another principality has blackmailed her into marrying him. When Merrick Montgomery abducts her moments before her wedding, the intrigue has only begun.
The pacing in this story was perfect, the sexual tension played out as long as possible. Unfortunately the final conflict was a little sloppy, and after the number of choices made for the sake of plot convenience throughout the story, it kind of spoiled the whole thing for me. Still everyone's heart was in the right place, so I would recommend this one if secret princesses and the relatively safe political intrigue of a small country is your thing.
The Merrick family has virile males. It was good to find out what brought Merrick and Allyssa Sutherland together. I read book 2 first, so I had a vested interested in their story.
