Billed as a thrilling serial killer crime, it seemed more like the killer was losing it. A lot of talking to himself, rage issues etc.
FBI Agent Eve Hope is sent with her partner to track him down. There is a small similarity pointed out about her father (an incarcerated serial killer) but really it doesn't seem to relate to him at all.
The best part of the book is Agent Eve confronting a biker gang in order to further her investigation.
I've read the first 3 books in the Eve Hope series and liked each one. This number 4 is such a let down. I found so much too far fetched to overlook. I don't doubt a dogs tracking skills, but keeping up with a motorcycle and RV? And the thoughts running through the dogs mind, come on.
Odd story of a serial killer who drags his young family along on his killing spree. This guy rents an RV for the family and then rents motorcycles to go off and kill. Eve is still breaking in a new green agent as her partner. The original suspect puts then afoul of a biker gang who run a tow truck operation. Lots of suspects and chilling moments.

Another good mystery from Kate Bold. She continues to expand her world building by having the FBI agents go over different areas of the country. Her murder mysteries are concise well thought out and enjoyable in that “serial killer “type genre. I will continue to read her books, including this series.
