I’d made it impossible for anyone to shatter my heart after the day I caught my ex-fiancé in bed with my best friend...

But then I meet James Dunsmore... the man who knows how to make the impossible possible.
He hires me after my ex’s big betrayal and my family’s abandonment.

In some strange way, that grumpy man in a perfect suit begins to feel like the only family I have.
One that is extremely dysfunctional, of course.

But the real dysfunction hasn’t even been revealed to me yet.
My gorgeous boss has the brilliant idea to offer me a promotion.
Great, I think – no more of that “assistant, grab me my shoes” BS.

He wants to change my job title from “assistant” to “fake wife.”
I am way too quick to nod and accept.
I am also too quick to break the rules of that agreement and jump into his bed.

And then, my crazy pastknocks at the door while I stare at the two pink lines that can ruin my future forever.
FML, there are two buns in the oven.

A happily-ever-after is impossible, but like I said...
James Dunsmore is the only man that knows how to make the impossible possible - for me and for our unborn twins.

I have to admit that I had my doubts about this couple. After reading the others in this series, they seemed the most unlikely not for their attraction but for the sheer amount of work that James went to sabotaging the fake and possible real relationships. And on top of that, it seemed rushed in some places or missing something that could have made the story flow from one scene to another.

While he was very sweet and caring at times, he was hard to like. When you did start, he would do something that made you want to slap his spoiled self absorbed face. Money or not, there is only so much yo-yoing you can do with your feelings. More power to Reyna for putting up with it.

Reyna put up with him and yes for the sake of the deal and contract made a real attempt even if she started to fall in love with him. She actually grew as a character finding her place in the world.

I am glad at the end they got it straightened and got together. But it goes to show you just how much being in a job you don't like and letting the past hang over your head causes so much unneeded grief.

I loved Ajme's books but this one it wasn't my favorite. I would recommend reading it just to see the continuation of the other characters from previous books and how they are getting along. The book blended that well.

This is a well written book with strong characters in James and Reyna. The author does a great job building their relationship and weaves an intriguing story that had me glued to the pages with all the twists and turns along the way. She tells the story in the dual POV which helps to understand both characters thoughts and emotions. She adds in a hot and steamy romance and delivers an entertaining story. Her scenes are painted perfectly and the story flows fluidly. Loved and recommend this book.

What can I say….

I did not like this book, at all…. The H was weak, selfish, bratty,…. The h had no self respect and just rolled over for everyone. I didn’t like the secondary characters either. I tried so hard to finish this book but I ended up just skimming the last few chapters.

365 Days of Betrayal, Discovery, Hope and Love

When beautifully curvy Reyna Pearson with her deep dark eyes and hair set out in her car, left her affluent parents’ home in southern California’s Pasadena, pointing her car toward Las Vegas, she joyfully believed that she was on her way to her future. She and fiancé Dean Winters had decided to elope, despite knowing that their collective parents would be displeased by their children's circumventing the elegantly arranged wedding designed to meet and exceed all societal expectations. But, those societal expectations were the problem—at least for Reyna—she wanted the wedding to be about the union of two friends who had fallen in love, not about the power amassed by important families merging in marriage. She especially wasn’t pleased to be a sacrificial pawn offered to achieve the business merger of the two families. Reyna wanted the emotional merger between herself and her intended groom to take precedence over the financial mergers.

So, to amend and improve the plans of their parents, the young couple had arranged to meet up in Vegas and to marry. And, also joining the eloping couple to support the bride as best friend and attendant, Caryn, was on her way to rendezvous with the couple. So, upon arrival at the designated hotel, a pass card for the room was given to Reyna, the bride-to-be, happily and with excitement rode the elevator to the designated floor.

But after swiping her room card over the reader and entering the room, she was stopped in her tracks by sights and sounds that could not be mistaken—her naked fiancé and best friend and designated wedding attendant, Caryn, were engaged in lusty porn-style sex on the sofa. And even through her shock and hastily offered glib apologies and false promises offered by her fiancé and friend, it was clear that neither her now ex-fiancé nor her ex-best friend were truly upset at the discovery of their perfidy. Rather, Dean, while inconvenienced that the plans for elopement were spoiled, was not really sorry for the physical display, and assumed that while the elopement was spoiled, the arranged marriage endorsed by the parents would go forward as originally planned. And so, Reyna left, ignoring the excuses and apologies. As far as Reyna was concerned, the intended wedding was done, the friendship was done, and the business affiliation of families was also done if it were to be dependent on Dean ever becoming her husband.

And so, Reyna left with the intentions of starting over, no longer connected to her ex-fiancé, her ex-best friend or her scheming, manipulative parents. As a second-year law student, Reyna was only one year away from completing her studies, but she knew that that door had closed. Her parents would not pay for her last year if she didn’t marry Dean. But she knew that she was skilled and knowledgeable. She could be a PA or some similar position.

So, she decided to stay in Las Vegas, and after renting an inexpensive efficiency apartment, she began filling out applications online. And, when she gets a call-back from after interviewing with the current PA, at Mrs. Curtis who is planning on retiring, Reyna feels that maybe, her luck is improving—until she meets the CEO and tyrant in residence, James Dunsmore, a handsome hazel-eyed man with the body of a god and the distemper of a dragon. But, with the salary that Mrs. Curtis says the position will offer, Reyna can begin to see a financial pathway forward that will allow her to be truly independent of her controlling parents and her cheating ex. She only needs to learn how to manage her boss, the dragon whose gleaming green eyes look at Reyna like she is a treat to be consumed by him.

Life Changes Keeps Hope Alive!

This is an angst-filled romance that Ajme Williams is known for. It's a fake marriage of convenience, unexpected pregnancy trope. However, this is one of the best that I've read. It's told from dual points of view - James and Reyna.

The main characters are James Dunsmore and Reyna Pearson. Both lives that had been adversely affected by business decisions of their parents. James's father was a evil, corrupt businessman who was sent to prison by James and his sister, Amelia. The board held James responsible and looked to fire him even though some board members had been complicit with his father. His father had been a cruel parent who raised James and his sister only for what they could give for the business.

Reyna's parents were upper middle class who controlled every facet of her life, even who she would marry. It was perfectly acceptable to her because she thought she was in love with someone who loved her until she caught him in bed with her best friend. She called the marriage off but her parents needed her to continue with the marriage because of business. She refused and they cut her completely off. She was in her last semester law school but lived at home and had nothing of her own.

In shock, but strong-willed, immediately started looking for a job. She was hired by James's assistant who was retiring. James was physically attracted to Reyna upon first sight as she was to him. He was moody, grumpy and angry because of the physical and emotional attraction that he didn't understand. She accepted the attraction to him and worked to help him with the board.

When he offered her a fake marriage to improve his standing with board, she accepted, after initially refusing. Of course their attraction took over and the marriage became more. James became angrier but Reyna accepted things as they were. She was a more forgiving, loving person and understood why James was the way he was. The story was full of anger, disappointments, humor, misunderstandings, hope and ultimately love. Of course, we know all the sex led to the unexpected pregnancy and caused even more anger with James and Reyna more disappointment.

The book was well written with a good plot and well developed subplots. The back stories were good but not as full as they could have been. Still it was very interesting and enjoyable and hard to put down. Yes, Reyna forgiving and loving nature and strong will overcame and helped James realize that he was able to love which was the beginning of their HEA

This is a great addition to the Hope of Heart Series and in this one we get to discover Reyna and James journey. Reyna’s parents have made every decision for her so as a college student she’s studying to become a lawyer and she’s engaged to a man, Dean they picked for her. With this marriage her father will benefit in a business deal with Dean’s father’s. When Dean and Reyna decide to get married in Vegas she’s surprised to walk in on him having sex with her best friend. Reyna walks out and never looks back. Starting a new life without any support from her parents she stays in Vegas and gets a job. Her new boss, James is a grumpy man with one goal to get the board behind him with his father’s business now that he’s in jail for all his shady deals. These two go from professional to a fake marriage to have James look respectable and a settled man. They are not able to keep it a business deal and it becomes more right away. James struggles with this until they come to an understanding to enjoy the year together until Reyna finds herself pregnant. When Dean returns trying to win Reyna back James hears it all and automatically shuts down not believing a thing Reyna says breaking her heart. Reyna does what she needs to protect her and her unborn and moves forward. It takes Amelia, James sister to show him what’s wrong with his thinking and his ability to see he deserves love to try and win Reyna back! 365 Days: A Marriage of Convenience, Secret Twins, Office Romance is part of the Heart of Hope series and I'm glad to see there will be more books. This is James and Reyna's story and it is told from each of their points of view in alternating chapters. I enjoyed catching up with characters we've met before to see what they are up to although there weren't as many of them as in some of the previous books.

Reyna and James start off on the wrong foot but they each show heart occasionally. Since she is hired by his soon to be retiring assistant to replace her and then quickly becomes his wife in a scam marriage of convenience, I wasn't sure how the story would unfold. But there are layers to the characters, as well as the story, with multiple threads being woven together.

Communication is key in any relationship and this couple didn't do it well. They took a half to one step forward and two or three back over and over again. Between the sheets wasn't an issue and they had quite a few steamy moments in places other than a bed. There are family and friends, an ex, a disgruntled Board of Directors, angst, anger, disappointment, sadness, some tears, lots of work, finding themselves, romance, loving and ultimately love. There is a happily ever after nicely portrayed but I wish the epilogue went on a little longer. The second epilogue give hints of what's to come in Ms. Williams next book and I look forward to reading more.

Their Truth About Real Love -
Reyna was only looking to work, so she could start her new life after her ex-fiancé’s betrayal and her parents indifference to the situation. James‘sole priority was getting the business back on track after the scandal of his father being sent to prison., but he knew he was in trouble the moment he laid eyes on his new assistant, Reyna.

The agreement between Reyna and James was meant to an act to subterfuge to placate the board of the company, but spending time together and living in close proximity of each other, heightened their attraction to the extent they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Unfortunately, everything became complicated when they received life changing news and her ex-fiancé returned to cause a disruption in their lives.

However, it would take possibility of James losing Reyna permanently, for him to finally acknowledge his feelings and realise what his priorities should be, which gave him the confidence to fight for their forever happiness. I absolutely loved this story and felt like I wanted to read more of their love story, when I reached the end. I am glad that Dax and Vivie will also be getting their own story, as the sneak peak of their story has me captivated. This is a definite must read book.

When a sham turns out to but anything but fake.

Ajme knows how to write a story that will keep you turning the page till the end. This one follows James Dunsmore and Reyna Pearson.
Reyna grew up with parents that decided everything in her life as long as it benefited them in some way. Apparently even her now ex fiance was a business deal that he acknowledged after she caught him in bed with her best friend. But the worst was her parents telling her marry him or don't come home. So she left everything she knew and stayed in Vegas with only handful of her belongings and the desire to start a new life. So she takes a job as an assistant but she never expected her boss to be rude, grouchy and standoffish on her first day.
James has troubles of his own as he tries to salvage his father's business and win over the board members after his father was sent to prison. Plus he has a new assistant that stirred things in him.

Their story takes an interesting turn when he makes her an unexpected and unusual proposition.
Absolutely loved this storyline and the characters even if some of them were pigheaded, sabotaged themselves, and were stubborn at times.

It has drama, heartache, anger, humor, passion, misunderstandings, forgiveness and above all else love.

This is part of the Heart of Hope series each can be read as a standalone a harden heart against love and the sexy who shatters all the walls she has built. Reyna is intelligent looking for a new job to reset so to speak after catching her fiancé cheating on her with her best friend and having to accept her parents’ position of trying to force her to marry a man who cheated on her or leave their home, so she left. James sexy as all get out determined to bring everything back in control after his father was sent to prison, trying to smooth things over with the board and knowing his assistant is in need of a fake wife so he makes a proposal that both of them can benefit from the attraction is there once she sees past his grumpiness the magnetic pull between them is strong neither of them can ignore it but remember the past has a way of showing up making life a little more challenging which is what happens when her past steps into the present will they get past all the challenges thrown their way, will they acknowledge that things are turning from fake to real, will he let her past continue to hurt her, will she wake up to the hurt her past comes to bring, and can these two with all of their issues, challenges still find happiness with each other?.

Reyna has her heart broken by her fiancé, best friend, and parents after she walks in on her fiancé with her supposed best friend the day before the wedding, but her parents still want the marriage to happen because it is for business. Having to leave it all behind, she starts over, including a new job as James’ assistant. James is not an easy person to deal with and under a lot of pressure. He has only one person her actually loves and loves him—his sister, literally the only thing he truly cares about other than work. When he finds out he needs to get married for his job, Reyna becomes a very convenient wife. She gets pretty good at handling him and understands a lot of his ways. There is definitely heat there and that heat leads to an unexpected addition that is not handled well by anyone. James is pretty messed up emotionally and Reyna is not much better. They really have a hard time giving each other any grace. Overall a good story though it dragged in some places.

This book is part of a series and follows Max and Amelia’s story with her brother James. James has helped put his father behind bars and is trying to turn this company around but the board is loyal to his criminal father. Rayna has been sheltered and controlled by her parents her whole life. When her world is flipped upside down and her parents disown her she decides to finally get her own life. Rayna is hired as his executive assistant the attraction is instant but James is a moody, workaholic who is constantly gruff and closed off. When he is told in order to prove he should keep his position of CEO he needs to be married he concocts a platonic fake marriage with Rayna. Keeping things within the agreement is impossible when their attraction is so strong and when a surprise pregnancy, her ex showing up and the board still trying to oust James complicate things even further it’s an uphopill battle to find their hea.

A well written romance read. Part of the Heart of Hope series but can be read as a standalone. This book is James and Reyna's story. Great characters told in a dual point of view. Captivating storyline with twists and turns. Williams gives us all the feels in this sweet and steamy romance.
Reyna has had her whole life planned out for her until on the day of her wedding she finds her finance and best friend. Needless to say, this is the wake up call to all waking up calls and she leaves and never looks back. James is Reyna's new grumpy boss who is only out to get the business board behind him now that his father's in jail for all the shady dealings he's been involved with. Reyna and James start a fake relationship/marriage only things start to feel real. Can these two come together and make it work or are the hurts and betrays they've endured make them incapable of a HEA?!?

This is the next in the Heart of Hope series, and once again Ajme didn't disappoint, it was full of love, hope and romance, oh and unexpected twins.

This is Reyna and James' story.

Reyna went to Vegas to marry her fiance Dean, but when she went into their room arriving early, she caught him in bed with her best friend, she fled, and her mother told her if she didn't marry Dean not to come home, so she didn't she stayed in Vegas and got a job working for James as his PA.

James had taken over as CEO of his father's company after his father had been arrested, but the board didn't approve of him being single so he offered Reyna a lot of money to fake marry him, and stay for 365 days, although she thought it was a stupid idea, she agreed.

like the other books in this series, this was really well written and had strong characters, it was easy to read and to fall in love with the characters, I can't wait for the next book.

This was a lovely story as soon as I started reading I was hooked god I killed have murdered fiancé Dean. When Reyna met James they didn't get off to the best start by she desperately need the job if she was to stand on her own two feet away from her parents who I also wanted to kill. James & Reyna's relationship was rocky but they needed each other then sex & emotions got in involved & everything began to explode when not only was she pregnant but then ex Dean turned up making James see red against Reyna . His sister Amelia who loved Reyna already making her part of their family tried to make him see sense about what was really going on with Reyna & I just hoped he'd man up & see exactly what he would be losing. This story was steamy, emotional with some great characters but then some not so great, definitely recommend this story.

Reyna's life is dictated by her parents. She is in college studying to be a lawyer and is engaged to a man they chose, so they can benefit from a business arrangement.
When Reyna discovers her fiancé cheating with her best friend, she walks out and starts a new life away from her family. She gets a job in Vegas and her new boss James is really grumpy, with one goal, to make his father's business his.
James asks Reyna to marry him to make him look respectable and settled to the board of the company.
However, its not long before their fake relationship starts to turn into something real, especially when Reyna finds herself pregnant. But what happens when Reyna's ex shows up trying to win her back making James think he has lost her. Will he realise his mistake before its too late.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

Reyna lived a life that was her parent's embodiment of fulfilling their wishes but at what cost to Reyna's happiness? When she walked in on her fiance with her best friend she knew that she would not be marrying him and when her parents stated she would marry her fiance or leave their house with nothing she chose leaving. It started her on her journey, but she met James along the way, and he had a set of his own problems. A fake marriage was his idea of obtaining what he wanted and asking Reyna to marry him set him up to do that. Their path is filled with emotional twists and turns that drew me in and had me all caught up in their drama to see how it plays out in the end! This is a well written story with characters that I connected with while cheering them on to finding happiness!

Reyna's life changes when she catches her fiancé cheating on her. Her parents tell her she either marries him or she is on her own, so she stays in Vegas and finds a job. She becomes a personal assistant to James. James is trying to turn the company around after his father's illegal ways. The board is fighting him every step of the way and even tells him that it would be better if he was married. He turns to Reyna for help and offers her incentive for helping him. Reyna agrees because the money would help but its not long before things get very real between them. Will they admit to their feelings before its too late?

365 Days by Ajme Williams is the story of James and Reyna. James has taken the reigns of his father’s business….that is now teetering on the cusp of failure. Reyna was just hired as an admin there…after leaving a horrible relationship…much to her parents chagrin. But, nothing could have prepared her for her new, rude boss. Now, she also has to deal with his bizarre proposition!!!

Loved these two characters….their strong beliefs…but, willingness to step outside of the box. Took awhile for me to feel anything but disdain for him….but, he SLOWLY gets better. I appreciate Reyna’s openness to new things, situations, and people!!! Wonderful read!!

Reyna and James’ story has them meeting in Vegas after Reyna and her Ex, Dean were supposed to get married but she walks in on him and her best friend. Reyna leaves him there and decides to stay in Vegas to get a job. Due to her and his parents wanted this marriage for business purposes. Now working for James he gives her a promotion which is a fake wife, to help him appear settled and respectable, because his father did shady business. When it goes too far and she ends up pregnant and her ex comes to ask for a second chance. This makes James shut down and leaves Reyna confused. Read to see what happens a lot is left to be filled in and more twists you need to read to see.

Is the hero for real? Respectfully, f*ck everyone in this book. Heroine was a doormat, hero was an asshole through and through, h’s parents were unfit as parents, h’s ex was a fuckhead (seriously can’t see the difference between the ex and H, h was forever cursed to be with losers), H’s sister was an enabler, h’s old BFF was pathetic and h’s new BFF was also not qualified to be a BFF like as a BFF you support your friend whole-heartedly for HER GOODNESS, NOT ENCOURAGE HER TO GIVE THE FUCKED UP HERO ANOTHER CHANCE

AND MENTIONING GROVEL OVER AND OVER DOES NOT MAKE THE GROVEL REAL.

Sickening.

I think I’ve DNFed this author’s book before. So, safe to say I will NOT be reading any more of her books. (NOTE TO FUTURE SELF)

Ajme is a great storyteller, her characters have a realistic quality and her situations evoke a reader’s emotion and she keeps bringing me back with her beautiful HEAs. James and Reyna have an agreement but real feelings start to take over their plans. I loved Reyna from the beginning, James on the other hand was a real work in progress and took me a while to find his hidden charm. He really was a bit of an alpha hole 😉. In any case this was a great read, emotional roller coaster, steamy, witty and of course the HEA.

She didn't expect to not marry her fiancé, but his betrayal broke her trust, now Reyna needs to help her new grumpy boss (James) out and have a marriage of convenience (or will it be convenient if she risks her heart again?). I loved James and Reyna's story, it pulled me in, and I loved the challenges and spark between this couple. I loved both of them, although they both had moments I had to tell them off, for what they were doing (none of it took away from my enjoyment of their romance though). I didn't like the ex fiancé, he was certainly a jerk.

Reyna was a strong character that I really enjoyed reading about. When faced with such a betrayal and no support from her parents, she chucks her whole old life and starts new in Vegas. James is more complex. It was enjoyable to read about the machinations of James' board and his solution their proposed problem. It backfires on them and James eventually gains a powerful partner. Of course not before their relationship is tested to its limits. Great read. Lots of hot and spiciness and some drama thrown in.

365 Days. I enjoyed this book thoroughly! It was exciting and very emotional. The characters were remarkable and moved my heart. I even had tears in my eyes. James was set on keeping his position in his father's company. Most of the board members wanted to get rid of him. So he decided to ask his assistant to marry him and have a fake relationship in order to keep his job. James didn't want love. He just wanted it to look like they were happy. Things get crazy when Reyna finds out she is pregnant. Life changes everything. ! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review of this book.
