Able Team's mission: a cocaine bust in Manhattan. But a crooked trail soon takes the three aces of death to Windsor Castle in England. Able Team discovers that the fanatical Irish National Army of Liberation will attack the Royal Family in two days. . . .
U.S. agent Leo Turrin, already in London to find an infiltrator in the British counterterror network, gets some wild help as the American hotshots make meat stew out of ruthless attackers.
The main event in this book has Able Team going to London to foil an Irish Republican terrorist plot to attack the Queen. It’s very silly, fairly reactionary and riddled with inaccuracies. It was still decently enjoyable though. The book also contains a Mack Bolan in Vietnam short story which is pretty great. Still pretty conservative politically (a leftie female journalist gets kidnapped by the Viet Cong and Bolan has to rescue her), but it’s tight and tense and the action is spot on.
This is actually two tales, the main at around 140 pages is Able Team in England. There is a terrorist plot against the Queen and they are there to stop it. Written by Stephen Mertz, overall it's fine. Also has a Vietnam days short story of about 40 pages of Mack Bolan. He has to rescue a silly female journalist who wandered off on her own and got caught by the VC. It's ok but it's pretty flawed and bout as silly as the journalist.
Can't really recommend unless you are just reading the series. It's fine, nothing wrong with it, just sort of middle of the road.
A non-stop action ride, all be it short, 138 pages. This book starts off quick and never lets up. The team under cover a plot by a off shoot of the IRA running drugs for guns. It turns out much larger than that. The Queen is under threat at Windsor Castle.
This book was one of the better offerings from this series. It's not bogged down with to much flag waiving. The English setting is also a nice change of scenery. The only problem is that even at 138 pages, the author still pads the ending. Still an excellent outing.
