He doesn’t do emotion, she lives by her emotions, how can they ever work as a couple?
Julia Garamond is a reporter who won't let go once she catches a hint of a story, and this one is personal to her. When she crosses paths with one of Prey Security's teams she knows together they can take down the powerful Mikhailov Bratva who she believes is involved in a plot to overthrow the government. The last thing she expected was to meet a man who stirs up new feelings. Feelings she won't run from no matter how much he wants her to.
Dominick "Domino" Tanner doesn't trust anyone. Especially not the fiery redheaded reporter who pushes his every button. He learned as a young child to lock down his emotions and that's how he lives his life, only sweet, stubborn, crazy Julia is ripping through those barriers without even trying.
But his past is about to come back to haunt not just him but the woman who somehow managed to creep inside his heart.
USA Today bestselling author Jane Blythe writes action-packed romantic suspense and military romance featuring protective heroes and heroines who are survivors. One of Jane's most popular series includes Prey Security, part of Susan Stoker's OPERATION ALPHA world! Writing in that world alongside authors such as Janie Crouch and Riley Edwards has been a blast, and she looks forward to bringing more books to this genre, both within and outside of Stoker's world. When Jane isn't binge-reading she's counting down to Christmas and adding to her 200+ teddy bear collection!
...Domino grew up in a house of darkness, death, pain, depravity and destruction, Julia is all sunshine and light. He holds everyone at a distance and only speaks if it is needed, she hugs everyone. All. The. Time and never stops chattering. Despite this you can see how perfect they are for each other, she smashes through his walls without slowing down, no asking permission, no hesitation, she just leaps and knows his protective instincts won't allow him to let her fall or fail. He grounds her and makes her feel safe in a way she has been missing for more than half her life. But their journey is not an easy one, there are kidnappings, they are blown up... repeatedly, shot at and hunted, there are also their learned behaviours which are defensive, self protective and not conducive to a relationship. But finding your soul mate doesn't have to be easy, it just has to be right and then what appear to be huge obstacles shrink to become hurdles you can help each other over. Another fast paced and emotionally explosive addition to the series. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
The plot is ridiculous, with massive plot holes and mistakes.
Wow, so the buildup of the tension, and danger against an unknown enemy leads to this book??? Wtf?? It was so bad that I was skimming pages to the end, just to find out what happens.
So on with the terrible plot….. Julia is a reporter, who has connections with Prey. She knows who they all are, she knows all the team members. So why is she following alpha team as she suspects that they are terrorists???? When the team realise they are being followed, they apprehend Julia, put a bag over her head, (For whatever reason.) and tie her up. When they take the bag off, she instantly recognises them!!! SO WHY WAS SHE FOLLOWING THEM??? COULD SHE NOT SEE THEM???? Aaaargh….. It’s just a stupid mistake to make and there’s loads of mistakes like it.
So anyway, for some bizarre reason Julia likes Domino even though he’s rude to her, as he’s scared of his feelings. As it becomes obvious that Julia is in grave danger, (By someone who can’t shoot evidently.) she’s put in a safe house with Domino and they fall into bed with each other. After a HUGE amount of misunderstandings between them, they decide that they love each other. After finally deciding that the other person isn’t a secret spy sent to kill them. 😂😂😂 The team don’t seem to go an awful lot in this book, apart from drive round to each others houses, eat their food, play with their kids, and that’s it!!! No meetings with their boss? No meetings to discuss who the terrorist is? At one point Julia thinks about a man who gave her some information about the terrorist, but it’s not mentioned again. So the whole plot about her being in grave danger doesn’t make sense.
They finally get to the bottom of the terrorist plot, and it’s so stupid that you can’t believe that you’re reading it.
Little Flame!! Holly Heck a lot of secrets came to light in this story. They where totally shocking. These alpha team guys can be real @ holes. I think I’ve wanted to smack them all at one time or another.
Domino has anger issues and big secrets that even his team don’t know.
A firecracker of a woman with red hair and green eyes. A woman who turned out not to be an enemy.
Julia is a spunky brave woman that’s for sure. Putting up with a man like Domino she had to be.
There was something special about the way she lit up a room. He had never seen anything like it.
Each book we find out a little more of the puzzle and the fanatics that wants to take over the world. These dudes are evil crazy whacked out bad.
Dom and Julias story was addicting from the start but I loved her determination and even though he acted unfazed my anything when Julia needs him there’s nothing that will keep him away
What I like about this series is that by the end of each book, you get a little more acquainted with the MMC of the next book and know who's story will be next. In the previous book, we got to see more of Domino, who had suffered a severe head injury whilst the team was captured and tortured at the end of book 2/beginning of 3 and saw how he became more withdrawn and quick to temper. However, in the previous book, we got an insight into Domino's softer side, when he became protective over Piper, the MC of the last book and took it upon himself to become her 247 guard whilst she was in danger. In his own story, he meets Julia, a journalist who isn't afraid to put herself in danger for the greater good, when she accidently follows the team thinking they are apart of the enemy organisation she has been tracking. Likewise, Domino thinks she is the enemy and takes her to his team to be interrogated which is when they realise that they are on the same side, despite Domino being more reluctant than his team to trust her. The two get caught in an explosion and Domino has to fight his way through the rubble to Julia, who was restrained from the interrogation and trapped as well. Following this, they believe Julia is a target of the organisation they are trying to stop due to her knowing information about them and the team take her back to a safehouse to be guarded. Domino has a rough past that even his team are unaware of and this comes back to bite them all in the ass later on in the book. The two main characters couldn't be more different, but it is nice seeing Julia bringing out Domino's softer side that he had to lock away to survive his childhood.
Book 3 had the series looking up — but this one disappointed.
Julia is a reporter and Domino gets into her car, points a gun at her head and tells her to drive. And she is attracted to him??? Who reacts that way?? Julia is overly bold, stands up to Domino’s team to defend him — after she’s known him for 5 minutes.
And Within a week they’re in love! What??? And the whole time he is being obnoxious to her. Then she runs away from him, gets taken by the enemy and suffers over 20 whip lashes to her back. And within a day or 2 of being rescued — she’s downplaying her injuries and wants to make love! Seriously?? She never even went to the hospital.
And Domino is a piece of work — easy to understand his mistrust issues. But he admits to being in love within a week??
Ugh. Lots of good, suspenseful moments, but frustrating overall. The relationship among the team is great, and all the women in their lives coming together is wonderful.
Loved it! Intense read with lots of emotions, hidden secrets, huge misunderstandings, revenge, action, danger, suspense, made family, brotherhood, humor, and sexy times. Domino and Julia were total opposites and I loved how open and carefree she was and how she kept getting in his face and calling him out forcing him to explore feelings he’d been taught from a young age to bury. He was a warrior removed of emotion and she was a grab life by the seat of her pants and live-in-the-moment woman. They clashed at every turn but Julia saw the good in Domino buried deep and never gave up on him or them. Loved the character growth, the rest of the team and their ladies stepping up and offering support and advice, and of course…the revelations that lead to both their well-deserved HEA. Looking forward to Surf’s story next.
The team’s not happy at all to be back in Somalia and Dominick ‘Domino’ Tanner gets the task to collect the tango following them around the jungle. But It’s not a tango, its reporter Julia Garamond and she’s workings expose the Mikhailov Bratva at any cost. Domino distrusts Julia while she’s happy to be taken under Prey’s wing, even temporarily.
Trained as heir to his family’s criminal empire Domino walked away when his father had the two women Domino cared about brutally murdered. Domino’s conflicted about his feelings for Julia but afraid his secret will be discovered. Julia makes no secret of her feelings for Domino and continues to manipulate her puzzle pieces. Thinking she’s solved the puzzle, Julia runs. Domino accepts Julia’s disappearance and though the team has his back they disagree on his stance about Julia. Rating: 4.5stars
Domino/Dominic and Julia/little flame. Dom really stood out in Pipers book and the talk about his anger and being closed off. Julia is new to the story and the connection she makes brings a whole new angle to the story of who Alpha is trying to find and the secrets Dom has. The story is full of action and intrigue with the bratva and terrorists. It is also full of love and redemption as Dom and Julia find their way to each other. The ending where they share their thoughts about the confrontation with Scar was sad and lovely for their emotions to be so open. Phoebe and Lolly get closer as we find out who Scar is and the team gets closer as Doms secrets are now known. The danger isn’t over so the team has all the significant others and children under protection as they gear up for the next book/adventure to get everything resolved.
Another brilliant book in this phenomenal series! What a roller coaster ride of emotions in finally getting to a happy ending for Domino and Julia! I had been looking forward to this book in order to find out why the brooding Domino kept his emotions so totally in check behind such an impenetrable wall. Domino certainly has found his match in the feisty Julia, and sparks fly at every opportunity. As usual with Jane Blythe books, do not expect a straight forward run to the happily ever after! An exciting plot line and brilliant characters make for a fantastic read. I recommend this book unreservedly and will continue author stalking until the next one is released
Dominick Domino Tanner has his emotions are locked down tighter than Fort Knox. He is a man on the edge and a man of few words. So why is he attracted to a woman that couldn't be more opposite of him? Julia Garamond is sunshine personified. She has no filters. She regurgitates whatever is on her mind. She wears her feelings on her sleeves and she is rarely quiet. She crawls under the armor that he's so carefully constructed. Recently he's been just one step away from losing it at any given moment and when his past comes calling, both Julia and his team are beyond shocked. Regaining trust means baring his soul but he knows that's what he must do. He realizes that cannot lose her.
This is another great book by the author and focuses on the emotionally stunted and suspicious Domino meeting the exuberant and captivating Julia on a mission in South America. It's really well written and the way the two opposites work with each other and their attraction builds is handled beautifully with the rest of Domino's team providing just the right amount of interest as supporting characters. No spoilers just praise for a great book and as always I'm looking forward to the next
Soo good. Domino comes from a horrible family that he escaped. He has made his new life with his team, his brothers. When he meets Julia, in the worst place, he only wants to believe the worst. Julia is in Somalia to find who is behind the explosions. When she meets the men from Prey who rescue her, she only has eyes for one of them, Domino. Through trying to have a relationship with Julia which he is failing at, the whole truth comes out about who he really is. Then the worst happens, Julia is taken. It's time to end this tie and bring home his love.
Wow!!! Awesome book!! Julia is a reporter working on taking down the Michailov Bratva when she teams up with Prey Security agent, Dominick. These two are fiesty as. Working together, is not plain sailing and hard work at times but their attraction is powerful and ultimately wins out. Full of romance, but non stop action, suspense and definitely a great thrill ride of a book. Julia and Domino are very much made for each other and his protective streak really kicks in as the danger ramps up. Great work Jane!! I highly recommend this book.
Fast read with suspense . Julia is working as a journalist to uncover a Russian father. And son who plan to rule a New World. These men have hidden their men everywhere to find Julia and see what she knows. Torturing Julia too. Domino has fallen for Julia but has secrets. Jane Blythe keeps continuing her books with a storyline until they find Scar’s girlfriend who plans to continue to rule a Russian New World. Does Domino let the Alpha team in on his secret? Does he get to be with Julia ? Read and find out.
Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Jane! This story is about Domino and Julia. It's amazing how opposites actually do attract each other. These two are actually polar opposite but people can change. This plot to control the world just keeps going. Prey teams just can't seem to catch a break. So glad Domino gave up his secret. As always, the ending was explosive! FANTASTIC job Jane! I would highly recommend this book!
Next book in this series spin off series from prey security follows alpha team Dom his team is still chasing the bad guys trying to get the high ups.this ends with a HEA but with a twist so the battle is not yet over.surf gets his story in the next book. Do the women have to always be violated in these storys.would of been nice to see a bad add worn get free because her broken finger helped etc.
I enjoyed the characters, but the storyline line is just a bit unbelievable. As with each of the men, he’s afraid of his feelings, doesn’t trust, blah, blah, blah. And just about the time the lady is facing death, he admits to himself that he loves her. Same story different character, but I enjoy her writing style and will continue to read the series. But I am hoping for a slight variation in the characters and/or storyline.
Another awesome story by Jane Blythe. Both Domino and Julia were great characters. It took Domino time to work through his issues but with his team's help, he was able to do it. Julia was strong in defending him and patient while Domino came to his senses. It was amazing what Julia went through, but she always remained positive. Looking forward to Surf's story.
Wow, this series is getting so intense. Really enjoyed reading this crazy, exciting, and dangerous story. Domino and Julia was so different. Domino described Julia as bewitching, because of her red hair and deep green eyes, stubborn, and his little flame. Julia described Domino as angry, big, and dangerous. Domino has a problem trusting, which upsets Julia. One thing I really like about Prey is their brotherhood, always watching each others back. What a page-turner, couldn't put down until finished. Highly recommend!
Domino was one I was waiting for, I wasn't sure why as all Team Alpha are awesome but I guess I know now. Loved Julia she was exactly what he needed and a ball of sunshine and light. Dual Pov plus a Villian Pov. HEA, Spice, Angst, standalone couple to Interconnected story. Can be read alone. Please Check your TW
Reading about Domino and Julia's first encounter to the end of the book was like a fast train ride with no breaks. It starts with a kidnap and ends with an explosion with kidnaps, explosions and torture. Somehow, A romance occurs in between these other events. It will leave you needing to breathe. Enjoy!
What is it with this author and rape? Its in every book so far. I'm sure you could have done a good story without so much rape. Its made it hard to get through these books. I've taken to skimming past the sex scenes...especially the rape. Add trigger warnings...
Jane Blythe did it again. Domino and Julia were so perfect together and so deserved a HEA . Their story was well written and the words had me holding my breath and tearing up and turning pages as fast as my eyes would move.
I really enjoyed this book. Julia and Domino were great characters to read. I enjoyed how spunky Julia's character was. She was spirited without being totally over the top and annoying. This was a good book and I can't wait wait for Surf's book.
Oh boy, these two! How much sweeter can it get. I love watching the tough guys fall. Julia is amazing, I just love her personality and zest for life. She's perfect for our tough guy. Great book, can't wait to read the next one.
Read books 1 to 4 Don’t know how I am going to manage to wait until June for book 5 Loved them all. Great Characters and Great Storyline’s for all of them. Love your Action Adventure mixed in with strong women. Thank you so much.
I understand insta love, but this one is too much. How could you point gun to a woman and attracted to her? And how the woman feel safe despite a stranger man point gun at you?
This one has taken me a while to read. Again alpha team are useless at their job, wasn’t overly sure why the 2 main characters had their argument. Was a bit weird. But was still an ok book. Wasn’t the best in the series
What I love about this series, so far, is the way it makes me laugh. Just some small little thing will make me laugh. The characters are well written the storyline easy to follow. The bad guys are the bad guys and the good guys win.
