Truly one of a kind in its openness, warmth, thoroughness and basis in empirical research.

I have read Sexual Wholeness in Marriage but the fact that this was written by an LDS woman, rather than primarily by LDS men, is revolutionary - especially when you take into account Tammy’s gift for being quite specific while also maintaining an attitude of sanctity and reverence about sexuality and the human body.

I will say that Tammy’s directness and candidness may catch you a bit off guard like they did me. But, that just goes to show that we all have different levels of comfort with our sexuality and experiences and with discussing them openly. Some parts felt a little long and I didn’t get fully into the book until maybe 1/3 or 1/2 way through. All of that said, I’m glad I read it and will for sure be referencing it in the future.

Listen, I’m not married nor am I almost married. I’m just trying to learn before I get to that point because I have a lot of anxiety surrounding intimacy. Tammy Hill is amazing…I trust everything she says, and I appreciate her candor in this book.

I was excited to read a faith based sexual health book, especially from someone who teaches at a college level and as a therapist.
I loved thinking about an eternal relationship and how important loving one another is, and that Heavenly Father planned for us to have joy, not just pro creation.
I thought some chapters were a little long.
She does describe things very well, and maybe uncomfortably (as most of the people reading are religious and don’t talk about sex in depth).
I have read some better books on the topic, I rated a little lower because I wanted the religion more entwined with sex.

This is a most surprisingly, different book than anything I've seen about sex and marriage. It is written primarily for any married (man/woman) couple but Tammy gives extra attention to members of our church.
She leaves nothing out. So take a look but just be prepared. She covers this extremely personal part of our lives in great detail and candor in a non=offensive way. She reminds us that one of our purposes on earth is to experience joy and how sex can become a vehicle for that. We have read separately and talked about the concepts but struggle with the time-cosumming journaling exercises.

I must recommend.

I've read and re-read this multiple times and constantly refer to it.
This book has been handy for me and my marriage. I wish I'd had this book years ago, but at least I have it now and can use it to help me, my marriage, and my family so they can learn about sex in a much better, healthier, and more positive way than I did.

This book is a great discussion starter and means to evaluate intimacy and comfort level in your current relationship - whether soon-to-be-married, newlywed, or many years into an established relationship. I happen to know this author personally and appreciate the candor and warmth of her voice. Her genuine hope to help others find sexual fulfillment in marriage clearly comes through the pages.

both broader and deeper than most marriage books

It is amazing how this book can be both broader in what it covers and go deeper into the sexual relationship than any other of the books that I have read.

A couple will get the most value from this book, if they take one chapter at a time and do the activities at the end of the chapter as suggested.

Loved it!! A book that teaches principles and then gives exercises to do too. Heartfelt, warm, and refreshingly honest.

I loved the aspect Hill took on our discipleship in relation to sexual intimacy with your spouse. Anyone could benefit from reading this book.

I wish we would have had this as newlyweds, but it really is beneficial for all ages.
