Bower Boys #3

6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You

Rate this book
He spent ten years in witness protection.
Now he’s spending every second trying to woo the woman he hurt.

In high school, Maggie had one rule for our secret relationship—we couldn't acknowledge each other in public. But every night, we’d meet at her family’s pond, where we'd talk and laugh and flirt.

Until I made a horrible mistake.

Over a decade later, I’m back in my hometown and some things haven’t changed. Maggie's still infuriating and confusing, and absolutely stunning. Our chemistry is also still hotter than a four-alarm fire, and she’s intent on denying it.

I don’t blame her. The last night we saw each other I broke her trust, then I vanished into witness protection for ten years.

But there’s something else going on with her.

I recognize a secret when I see one, and her friends say she doesn’t do commitment. If I can get her to forgive me and open up, maybe she’ll break her rules and give us a second chance. Or she’ll light my heart on fire and dance around the flames…

What I enjoy the most about this series is that we get almost exclusively, the male character’s point of view. Almost, because this time around, the author was afraid of writing a female character not immediately likeable and she offered Maggie some time to shine.

In this book, we follow Lennon, the jokester of the Bower brothers. Since the first book in the series, it’s been a gimmick for him to hide or run whenever he heard the name of Maggie Edelstein, but no explanation was given. Mostly because no one knew what happened between them. And now the time has come.

And they have a past, almost as serious and life changing as Lennon’s brothers and their significant others, though no promise was made at the time. They weren’t even in a relationship. The time they spent together was a secret they kept from everyone. To outsiders, it looked like they didn’t even know each other. Something happened–that is revealed later in the book–right before Lennon had to run away with his family, that makes their relationship now quite difficult.

Though pretty angsty, I liked the idea that something seamingly innocuous that happened a decade ago, a misunderstanding that they could never resolve, shaped their life in such a huge way. Trauma is real, and you never know what could hurt someone so deeply that they develop hang ups.

Maggie and Lennon manage theirs, but it isn’t an easy journey. They both have to reflect on their attitude and reactions, understand where they come from and how to change them before they can really be together. Lennon’s struggles of course revolve around his father, and we finally see the Bower dad. I think the author dealt with the confrontation in an interesting way, as it isn’t about the dad at all, it’s all about the Bower brothers and cleaning their system of the toxic man. Loved that.

I think the common theme was the image you project to others and how you really feel inside, and in Maggie’s and Lennon’s cases, how keeping inside who they really are hurts them deeply.

Being in Lennon’s head is quite the ride, and I loved his humor. The book was funny but also really heartfelt. I can’t wait for the next book.

According to Merriam-Webster:

Nemesis
- a: one that inflicts retribution or vengeance

b: a formidable and usually victorious rival or opponent

👎🏻 I’m not sure the author is truly aware of what a nemesis is. The two MCs weren’t nemeses at all but merely each other’s secret. Part of me was happy about that because I abhor enemies to lovers books. But I also had to roll my eyes each time Lennon called Maggie his nemesis. It was absolutely ridiculous! Minus a star for that crap. I honestly don’t know if the author mentioned it so many times in the book to convince herself or us, but it didn’t work.

👍🏻 I absolutely loved Lennon. He’s probably my favorite Bower brother. While I really enjoyed book one (E’s story) and E is a great guy, I felt more connected to Lennon. He would be my choice to date and I wouldn’t have treated him like Maggie did. Other than her looks, I never understood what he saw in her…even when I was finished with the book.

👎🏻 Regardless of the author’s note at the end of how harshly women are judged, I didn’t like Maggie. Here’s my note to the author: I would feel the same way if the characters had been reversed. It’s not the gender that makes me like or dislike a character, it’s their behavior. I don’t care for MMCs that act like that either. Maggie’s apologies came too late in the book and she never redeemed herself for me.

👎🏻 Character descriptions and details are important to me. Since I read book one almost a year ago, I can’t remember if we ever learned the birth order of the Bower brothers. It’s repeatedly stated that Jake is the oldest and we know that E is the youngest, but in which order do the other three fall? At one point in this book, Lennon says that Desmond is his second-oldest brother which led me to believe that Desmond is…..the second oldest. But later it says that “Callahan is the second-oldest Bower boy.” So which is it? Where does Lennon fall in the birth order? When all is said and done, I just assumed he was closest in age to E, therefore the fourth Bower brother born. But overall, this bothered me.

👍🏻 I was happy to see Sandra back as one of the secondary characters. She was an interesting part of book one and it was good to have her make appearances here.

👍🏻 The cover is very appealing! “Lennon” is very attractive! 😍

👎🏻 The sex scenes did not appeal to me. Too many “folds” and “wetness” and “slit”. 🤢🤮 I prefer there to be less mention of the girly bits. The scene can still be sexy without those.

👎🏻 The “epilogue” was no epilogue. It was basically chapter one of the next book. That’s lazy and cheats us out of an actual epilogue for the MCs. And yes, I double checked. It is, in fact, chapter one of Callahan’s book. 😡 I wanted more Lennon. Weird of me, I know, since it’s HIS BOOK!

5 stars for Lennon, minus 2 stars for all that other stuff I mentioned. I’m not sure I want to continue with this series. Callahan and Jake don’t really interest me.

This is book #3 in the Bower Boys series. The Bower brothers' lives were all interrupted when there were put into Witness Protection for over ten years. Now, they are free and back in the very small town of Windfall. This time it's Lennon Bower's story with Maddie Edelstein. This second chance, friends to lovers, very small-town romance is completely told in Lennon's POV, except for one chapter in Maggie's POV. (which I loved)

Lennon is known as the jokester of the family, but he is so much more. He and Maggie weren't really friends in high school, but they had a connection that led to an attraction. The night before he was whisked away to Witness Protection, something happened between them that caused Maggie to run away from him.

Lennon feels a great need to apologize to Maggie. Well, after avoiding her in a closet (though he is majorly claustrophobic. Not a good idea!) Maggie wants to avoid the subject of that night. Plus, he wants to see where they stand now and if there is still that connection.

I've enjoyed each of the books in this series. The author is so good at the brotherly banter/teasing--and there is a lot. Lennon is adorable, a "hipster" according to his brothers. This family and the small town of Windfall is fun to read about. I am definitely looking forward to Cal's story next.

Thank you to the author for an advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Starting a Bower Boys book is like reuniting with your family. You’re back with all of your pranks, inside jokes, family meddling, unconditional love, and sibling banter.

Lennon and Maggie’s story was so different than the two before them. Siskind has a gift for taking the problem that was WITSEC but using it to make a complete individual conflict and storyline for each of the boys.

I loved reading from Lennon’s POV. He is incredibly funny but also had me sobbing at some points. And other times, my jaw was on the ground. It was perfect writing to show Lennon’s aversion to conflict without being obvious about it. It was a great way of showing how someone is unaware of the mistake or damaging actions they’re making.

My favorite thing about this series is that each brother (and character for that matter) is written with their own, fully formed personality. They are all so obviously brothers, but each is different from the other. Amazing writing.

Each Bower Boys story is better than the last I absolutely cannot wait for Cal and Jo’s story! There was already so much angst in this one and it wasn’t even their book! I am on the edge of my seat to see what happens next…

Thank you so much for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I am loving this series. The Bower Boys each have their run at finding their own happy ending. Lennon and Maggie’s story is friends to lovers and kinda second chance. Lennon finds out more damning evidence into their piece of crap dad’s life which sends him into a spiral of emotions, not sure how to tell his siblings.
Maggie has her own insecurities and trouble dealing with them.
Together they help each other out and fall more in love with each other.
Can’t wait for Cal’s book next.

6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You by Kelly Siskind
Rating: 5 stars
Steam: 2 chilis
Pub Date: 5/3/23

Kelly Siskind has knocked it out of the park once again with her newest installment of the Bowers Boys series! I have had the privilege of reading these books early, and I have loved every minute. If you like small-town settings with steamy second-chance romance and strong family connections, this is the series you’ve been waiting for.

This is the third book in the series, and it’s about Lennon Bower, who, like his brothers, has been stuck in WITSEC for the past 10 years. Right before he was thrown into witness protection, he struck up a friendship with Maggie. A friendship that she insisted on keeping a secret and one that she still denies ever existed. Now that Lennon is back in Windfall, they’re bound to run into each other, and they both need to face what happened between them years ago.

Lennon is the jokester of the family, and I have been dying for his story! Each book has hinted at a relationship between him and Maggie, Delilah’s spunky best friend, but they’ve both been tight-lipped about what went down between them before Lennon’s family was swept off into WITSEC. The story that comes out is even better than I imagined.

This book has everything! It’s an enemies-to-lovers, second chance, small-town romance full of hilarious one-liners and banter, heartwarming moments between the MCs that will make you swoon, sizzling chemistry, and delicious steam! This book is much spicier than the previous two, and I was here for it!

This series is told strictly from Lennon’s POV, which is such a fun and fresh perspective in the romance genre. Siskind uses this to break down some gendered stereotypes, such as Maggie being the one balking at a commitment with Lennon and not the other way around.

Romance aside, the best part of this series is the relationship between the brothers. The way they embarrass and rag on each other while also always being there for one another is just perfect, and I hope the shenanigans never stop.

Overall, I loved this book, and I am already excited about Cal’s story. Thank you so much to Kelly Siskind for letting me read this early so I can keep shouting from the rooftops about this incredible series! 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You will be out on 5/3, so get ready to grab a copy.

The Bower Boys series gets better with every book and 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You is a home run for Kelly Siskind. Every book in the series is a beautiful love story amidst a journey that lifts the characters out of the ruins of witness protection and their father's betrayal.

Lennon and Maggie's story is one of romance, humor, heartbreak, and acceptance. I loved spending time in Lennon's mind and found his insecurities and use of humor to hide them very relatable. Maggie is my favorite heroine of the series so far and I found myself wanting to hug her and hangout with all at the same time.

The story of the Bower Boys' father moved forward in 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You and I was eager to learn more. I found those scenes hard to read with my heart breaking into pieces. Siskind nails these moments perfectly, especially after a huge secret is revealed.

If small-town romances are your thing, this series is perfect for you. I loved the moments I got to spend with Lennon's friends and family as they've become so familiar to me. While the town of Windfall is a fictional North Carolina town, I've visited places in NC that are so similar and gave me the same sort of feeling!

Thank you to the author for an early copy.

"She's part of the permanence I crave. Bursting sunshine in her sauciness, a windstorm of creative energy, lightning strikes of righteous indignation, a rainbow of laughter- that's the Maggie I want. All her seasons. The wild unpredictability of nature, beautiful and fearsome."

We're back in Windfall with the Bower boys, still trying to piece back together their lives after being forced into witness protection program for a decade. We are finally exploring why Lennon Bower and Maggie Edelstein avoid each other all the time, and why everything was a secret. It's years later and it's time for them to confront the antagonism between them and come back to what really happened between them a decade ago.

____________________

There's something so magical about reading a Kelly Siskind book for the first time. I am eternally grateful for this ARC, ever since 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover, I have been DYING to know what happened between Lennon and Maggie.

Lennon is the funniest of the Bower boys easily, but he's also subject to a plethora of hipster jokes from everyone in his life. The jabs everyone makes at each other are hilarious, but the banter?! It is top tier. Lennon and Maggie know how to push each others buttons and it's so good. Kelly Siskind does a great job of writing women that know how to balance out the chaos of these Bower men.

Coming into this book, I wasn't sure which way their stories would go. Lennon's backstory HURT. From the other books in this series, we already have a sense of the damage WISTEC has done on this family. Getting insight to how Lennon felt, being the closest to their dad growing up, broke my heart. Lennon is so damn soft and seeing him bottle up, internalize, and try to manage all that pain hurt my heart.

Finally understanding why their past was a secret, and how it all went down WAS HEARTBREAKING. Maggie has her fair share of trauma, and seeing the way it shapes their past and present makes complete sense when you understand all of Maggie's backstory. For a book that has only one single chapter in her POV, Kelly Siskind does a great job of giving us insight to how Maggie functions, thinks, and generally feels.

"You didn't leave me much of a choice."
"Do you really think we're a choice?"... "I think we're inevitable."

The communication between these two was undoubtedly my favorite part of the book. Realistically, when two people have such heavy trauma, one of the only ways to work through it is to talk to each other. They do such a great job of taking their relationship at a pace that makes sense for them, especially for Maggie. I also love that they apologize for hurting each other!! There's genuine conversation that happens. They hurt each other past and present, but aren't afraid to say sorry.

These two make my heart so happy. Even with all that time, they love each other so much. It was such a delight to finally read their story. I highly recommend this entire series to all romance lovers, but this book is perfect if you're wanting second chance romance, MMC POV, friends>enemies>friends>lovers, small town romance, a close family and friend group, great communication, and SPICE!!

I am a Kelly Siskind girly through and through. I cannot wait for Cal's book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much Kelly Siskind for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You is book three in the Bower Boys series. This series is about a group of brothers whose dad committed crimes when they were teens/young adults that caused them to have to immediately go into the witness protection program, leaving their lives behind and everyone they care about, without saying goodbye. This book is Lennon and Maggie's book. They met in high school but weren't really friends or in the same circle. Until one night, while going through his own teenage problems, he comes upon Maggie swimming in a pond in the dark. They slowly became secret friends, where they ignored each other at school but met up at nights to commiserate over their problems. Their relationship was just beginning to take a turn when Lennon and his family disappeared mysteriously (into Wit-sec). Now, it is years later, Lennon's family is free, as the cartel that was after them are dead. He and several of his brothers have moved back to town. He now runs a kids hiking and wilderness business. Maggie still lives in the town and has refused to talk to him, until one day they get locked in an elevator together. Lennon wants to clear the air between them and make sure there are no hard feelings for the way things were left between them, not to mention he still has feelings for her. But Maggie isn't very interested and she has a boyfriend at the time. Still, Lennon pushes for Maggie to give him a chance and finally she breaks up with her boyfriend and works things out with him.

This was a good story. It was more of a second chance romance than an enemies to lovers one. I liked Lennon, while Maggie was just okay to me. I did feel like they didn't have a ton of chemistry. Their relationship was high on the angst scale, which is not my favorite. Also, I'm never a big fan of books where the guy is cruel to the girl and constantly pushes her away. This book was the opposite of that, a role reversal of most books. Lennon was very sweet to Maggie and she hurt him a lot. He was the doormat in this scenario and kept coming back for more. I understood her fears of being with him, but she made him feel terrible. He was the one made to look like he owed her an apology, when she really owed one to him. He treated her so well, even writing her love notes every day, when she just kept hurting him and pushing him away. I definitely felt like he deserved better. The author noted in the author's note that readers are harder on heroines than heroes and she knows that people will be hard on Maggie. This reader personally is hard on any character who is cruel and treats their partner badly, regardless of gender. It is not because of her gender. I can name 10 books off the top of my head where the hero was a complete jerk and I never forgave him for it. That is the case in this book as well. I definitely was frustrated with Maggie and I don't think she quite redeemed herself to me. I needed more from her to forgive her for hurting Lennon, who was a lovable sweetheart. Still, in the end, she and Lennon managed to work things out between them and were happy together. I liked Lennon enough to overcome that I wasn't crazy about Maggie. And the story was good, as well as the side characters. I will keep reading this series and I look forward to the stories of the remaining single Bower brothers.

Overall, I did enjoy this book, even if it is not my favorite from this series. I look forward to the rest of the series and more to come from Ms. Siskind in the future!

Is it possible to fall in love with all Bower brothers at the same time? After reading 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You by Kelly Siskind, my answer is heck yes! This whole series of interconnected standalones delivers one second chance after another in all kinds of emotional adorable form. Lennon and Maggie had to overcome their own fears and emotional hang ups before they could give their love a real chance. The hilarious and heart warming bromance of the Bower Boys was the highlight of this book.

Lennon Bower is afraid of Maggie Edelstein. They were secret friends in high school and it was slowly becoming something more. The night they crossed the line, was also the last night Lennon could stay in Windfall as the whole family had to go under WITSEC programme due to their accountant father’s cartel ties. Now that danger is over and the family is slowly getting back their life. But Lennon isn’t sure how to process his feels about Maggie or how to make her fall in love with him...specially when she has emotional baggage of her own.

Lennon is definitely the funniest Bower boy. With his laidback attitude, epic sense of humor, t shirt with ironic lines, hipster ways and camping company life as a job..he is a guy you will instantly like. He can charm anyone. He made me laugh and swoon so hard. It's rare to read about a hero who isn't made picture perfect by the author. Lennon suffers from anxiety. He would rather use humor and bad jokes that having a confrontations. And that leads to lots of suppressed emotions. He had a special connection with his father and he is feeling guilty for having some fond memories. His father is still showing his true colors and the family had to face some shocking revelations but Lennon never worked out his anger and disappointment. And it transferred to his other relationships where he thinks people would leave her or that he is unlovable. Maggie has always been the goody two shoes..The perfect student, the perfect daughter, the proper event coordinator because she wants to make her parents proud. So Lennon with his sunshine happy sometimes impulsive personality makes her scared. But they have an intense connection and this time Lennon doesn’t want to hide their relationship. But he is ready to do it slow and give Maggie all the time. They have a lot to work through though and rather than hiding, they have to face things head on. It will be difficult. They will mess it up. But they have a beautiful love and above all, some amazing friends and families to rally behind them. This was probably the most entertaining story in the series so far! The LOL moments were priceless and the wit was well balanced with heartache.

Lennon and Maggie have a secret history, and now that Lennon has returned home after his 11-year absence due to WITSEC, he’s ready to bring their secrets out into the open and pick up where they left off. He needs to apologize for a trespass from his last night in town, but Maggie wants to leave their history in the past and pretend nothing ever happened.

Shared (almost exclusively) from Lennon’s POV, 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You details Lennon’s pain and grief over losing Maggie, friends, and his relationship with his father. He struggles with feelings of inadequacy and being unlovable. It’s absolutely heartbreaking at times. But Lennon is determined when it comes to Maggie. He wants her with every fiber in his soul and knows they are meant to be. This is where the story shines.

Maggie is a complex woman, and since we don’t get her POV, readers are left with Lennon’s impressions of her. Luckily he sees her true worth and values her friendship, but he doesn’t know her whole story. Over time, she explains to Lennon her worries and concerns, which are deeply rooted and hard to untangle. Lennon is patient and kind, but he also hurts when she pushes him away. He doesn’t share those feelings with Maggie out of fear she’ll leave him for good.

6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You is nearly a perfect story. I loved Maggie and Lennon’s journey. The author creates intense and honest emotions that I felt in my heart and soul. I laughed; I sobbed. The author writes that she worried readers would be extra hard on Maggie, but I honestly liked her and think she’s a relatable character. I LOVED how much Lennon loves her and sees the person she is and could be when with him. That said, what I didn’t love is that Maggie had to fail every time the author needed her to pull away from Lennon, creating emotional distance. I got extremely frustrated that every time Maggie gave a bit more of herself to Lennon something would blow up. Why? Why have Maggie “fail” over and over? It was predictable and aggravating.

I also feel the need to complain just a little about the fact that the author chose to include one small chapter from Maggie’s POV at an emotionally critical part of the story. While it was nice to see things from her side, this is a series written from entirely the male main character POV, including 99% of this book. So why make an exception? It pulled me out of the book and interrupted the emotional flow of the story.

In the end, I really did love reading 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You. Ms. Siskind works magic with her characters, giving readers something real and beautiful. Relationships can be hard, but worth the work to get to the HEA. Maggie and Lennon are worth the work.

I love this series!!! This book is a little more angsty, slow burn but is full of laughs. I love having the other brothers/family involved in the story. They are all amazing, love each other deeply but give one another such a hard time…funny stories from growing up. The banter between the brothers is fantastic! The brothers are fiercely protective of one another, their mom and those they love.

Lennon, sweet Lennon, was has been so deeply impacted by the actions of his father. He has struggled with his thoughts and emotions but needs to find closure.

Maggie is so wonderful but is carrying around a big burden…she also needs to find closure.

Maggie and Lennon are so wonderful together and make each other better. They give each other confidence, help each other trust again and are so full of love/passion for one another.

Kelly writes amazing characters/stories that give the reader all the emotions and feels. This book will do that…I had to keep putting it down because I did not want it to end.

I suggest reading the other books in the series first to understand the family background/characters.

I have loved this series from the beginning and each Bower brother just gets better and better.

I always love a good enemies to lovers story, so it's no wonder I fell in love with this book.

Maggie Edelstein and Lennon Bower were sweet, they made me laugh, and they set the pages on fire with their slow, flirtatious burn.

I am so in love with how this book had me laughing hysterically like a hyena one minute and then completely swooning the next. The rollercoaster of emotions were totally all of the best ones.

Lennon is soooo over the top on basically everything...I loved him! He can take a good ribbing just as much as he dishes it out, which is hysterical. His good nature made him extremely easy to fall for, so that even his nemesis came off with this easy breezy vibe.

While he and Maggie worked on being friends before jumping into something more, their chemistry always boiled and since this is told completely from his POV it all comes down to - Lennon is just a ton of fun to read.

Can I live in Windfall? Pretty please? This series is absolute perfection and as soon as I decide on a favorite brother, I change my mind with the next book. Without spoilers, this book made me absolutely laugh out loud (the tableau scene is all I can say), then threw emotional gut punches that took my breath away. Kelly Siskind is one of my favorite authors for many reasons, but one of the most prominent of them is that she's just brilliant at crafting characters who are multifaceted and quirky with loads of emotional depth. These Bower boys have a lot to unpack--and plenty of work to do in finally reaching their HEA! And dang, but they do it beautifully.

Kelly Siskind hit it out of the park with book 3 in the Bower Boys series! Maggie and Lennon are just amazing and I loved their story. What I’m loving most about this series is that Siskind is able to give each of the brothers such a unique voice and she’s crafting absolutely beautiful love stories for them.

Each story is distinct and remarkably told. I have a feeling anyone I ask will end up with a different favourite book in this series.

Siskind isn’t reusing tropes or plotlines. The stories are what each of our beloved Bower boys deserves. They feel fresh and like you could easily (and happily) binge them back to back.

The tease for the next book definitely whet my appetite for more and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Each new addition to this series somehow seems to get better than the last! I was eagerly anticipating this book because Lennon and Maggie’s “chemistry” had been expertly teased in previous books in the series. After that build up, their book did not disappoint!

One of the things I enjoy about this series is the predominantly male first person POV. And with this book specifically, I think Siskind really worked to break the stereotypical mold for gender roles. Lennon is all in, whereas Maggie is the one who’s okay jumping into the physical but has qualms with her emotions. It was refreshing to see that dichotomy for once.

Maggie and Lennon’s chemistry and banter are fantastic. I found this book laugh out loud funny but also quite heartwarming. The spice level also didn’t disappoint.

I’m looking forward to the next Bower boy in the series!

Lennon's been avoiding Maggie since he got back to town after having been in WITSEC for the last decade. But now he's decided he really needs to talk to her. They had a connection before he was taken away, and now that he's back he feels they should explore that connection. But given that she wouldn't admit anything back then, why would she admit it now?

Maggie has lots of insecurities and refuses to admit feelings for Lennon. She refused back then, and refuses now. But she underestimated how Lennon's sweet charm, his sense of humor would chip away at the walls she keeps around herself. If she could just get over what holds her back, she and Lennon could have something epic.

Lennon is definitely my favorite Bower Boy so far. He's so sweet and has such a great, hilarious sense of humor, that he uses to shield himself from pain. I admit to being upset with Maggie for hurting him so much by keeping him a secret, but really she's just as lovable, and so relatable. I think that's Kelly's real strength - creating not only lovable, but realistic and relatable characters like Maggie. I think any of us could see some of ourselves in her, with her own insecurities and baggage that guided some of her less positive choices and behavior. This series just keeps getting better, now I'm really excited for the next brother, Cal and his bestie, Jo's story, 4 Hints You Love Your Best Friend.

'I can't get enough of the Bower Boys! Each book really does keep getting better and Kelly keeps on delivering the good stuff. This might be my favourite of the series so far! - The British Bibliophile

Forget the Backstreet Boys, the Bower Boys are back and they're not saying bye bye bye this time. The third book in Kelly Siskind's Bower Boys series is here, its hilarious, its swoon-worthy and packed full of what we've grown to know and love about these boys, their town and the lives and people they've left behind whom they're now reunited with.

Book one, 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover kicked off the series with 'E' & Delilah, book two 10 Signs You Need to Grovel followed with Des & Sadie and now book three, 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You is handed the literary torch with Lennon & Maggie. Lennon's story has been a short while coming, but was oh so worth the wait for the story that has been carefully and meticulously laid out for us with everything from avoiding people in stores, costumes with all the gore and plenty of lip-biting swoon.

Back from the group ten-year stint in WITSEC, Lennon Bower is more than ready to pick his life back up from where he'd left it--while creating a new one for himself--, but there's one thing from his past which he has no immediate plans for picking up with and that's his old high school--and secret--flame, Maggie Edelstein. Their past relationship was simply that, theirs. Known to no one one else but each other, they were able to make memories between stolen moments with one another in the privacy of their secret haven but as all things must, their time together came to an end.

Maggie Edelstein, Lennon's former infatuation, is aware of his and the other Bower Boys' presence that have chosen to return to town and much like the rest of the town, is curious about what happened during their time away. Yet as curious as she is, she is unable to explore her curiosity. Why? You'll have to pick up a copy and read for yourselves. Curiosity thought and as always, kills the cat. Eventually Lennon's reluctance to see Maggie mixes with her caved curiosity and the two naturally pull right back into each other's lives. What will the result be this time? Will it be second time's the charm or will lightening strike twice and split them apart? Only time and fate will tell.

The two become nemesis' of sorts. Though not enemies by nature, there is now a budding and buzzing chemistry between them that at first Lennon is the only one to ignore, then Maggie, both teetering on the edge of them becoming who they once were but at the same time something new entirely. Neither are willing at first to take the plunge due to the reminder of what pulled them apart in the first place. WITSEC. Unable to tell or warn her that he was going to be pulled out of town and her life, Lennon indirectly breaks her heart and her secret that she's been keeping close to her heart even when she knew him, will soon come to light during their chemistry-fuelled reunion.

Lennon and Maggie are as right for each other as night is to day. There is no denying that they were always meant to be together, but are they willing to risk both hearts this time as they navigate all that was left behind as well as what is to come? We as readers go on this journey with them and it's all thanks to the lovely woman who created them and this world the Bower Boys & everyone else was born into. Kelly Siskind. As of yet, I've yet to dislike a character that she's written and even though if fell head over heels for 'E' and Delilah, my heart currently belongs to Lennon and Maggie. Every now and then, there are characters that are created that just resonate with readers, and these two are it for me. I can't describe how much I love them but what a pair! They won't be forgotten any time soon, no matter how many books I'll read since finishing their story.

Though this book was less on the heavy in terms of outside villainy and influence than the other two, it didn't make it any less pleasant to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the wholesome, laugh-out-loud and small-town feel to it and the focus on Lennon and Maggie specifically. They have their own little world within the small town and the bringing of them back together again.

If you're looking for a book that you'll one-hundred-per-cent up binging and finishing with in a day because it is THAT good, then this will be the book for you as it was for me.

What am I happy about now? I'm glad you asked! Though this chapter is done, we're lucky enough to have another Kelly Siskind book on its way to us. Here's looking at you, 4 Hints You Love Your Best Friend

I'm a HUGE fan of Kelly Siskind's Bower Boys series, so I was extremely excited for 6 CLUES YOUR NEMESIS LOVES YOU, especially since Maggie and Lennon have been teased about since the very beginning...and it was just as wonderful as I imagined!

First off, I adore the Bower family! The brothers are all so wonderful, and their mother is fantastic...and it's always such a joy to see their antics and just how much they truly love each other and enjoy each other's presence! I also love their small town Windfall--it adds such a fun element to the story, and it's just as lovely seeing all of the townspeople as it is seeing the Bowers in each book!

Now onto 6 CLUES YOUR NEMESIS LOVES YOU specifically, I loved Lennon and Maggie! Out of the brothers, Lennon is the brother who tends to make jokes....especially when he's uncomfortable or lighten the mood, so seeing him open up and be honest with his feelings was wonderful! And Maggie! I loved her sass and I loved seeing her open up to Lennon, too. The way that their relationship grew throughout the story was truly wonderful, and I also loved that we saw snippets of their past, too!!!

From secret friends as teenagers who were flirting with the potential of something more to "enemies" who were constantly antagonizing one another to friends...and finally to lovers. It was quite the journey and I loved seeing it all!

Overall, I loved 6 CLUES YOUR NEMESIS LOVES YOU! It was a wonderful story with fantastic characters and I'm seriously loving this series as a whole—because of the basic premise of this series (a family getting their lives back together post-Witness Protection)—these first three books have all been second chance romances, and while that's not typically a go-to trope for me, I have to admit that I've been loving every moment of them and these books have quickly become faves of mine with that trope! I'm also so excited to learn that Kelly is continuing on the series with the two oldest Bower boys, and Cal's book, 4 HINTS YOU LOVE YOUR BEST FRIEND, is next and it's coming out in September 2023! Highly recommend this book and the series in general to all contemporary romance fans, especially if you like some spice in your sweeter romances!

Okay but how could we be teased with Cal's issues like that and you're telling me I have to wait until at least September to find out how things go?! That's just cruel! XD

Now back to Lennon and Maggie.

Overall, I kind of actually wanted a little more of the two of them ducking for cover whenever the other was mentioned/walked in. We got some of it, but it was mostly Lennon (granted, since this was his POV, then that does make sense but I wish there'd been a couple where like he walked in to Delilah's shop to see Maggie jumping behind the counter or something) and at least the physical avoidance got resolved fairly early on. I will admit that I rolled my eyes at both of them a lot, especially as things were revealed. Maggie was too hard on herself to be 100% perfect 100% of the time and Lennon was kind of a mouse honestly. Like he didn't seem to mind ribbing his brothers/other people but for most of the book, any time true conflict arose, he'd step back and then talk about being extremely anxious and guilty about everything under the sun.

That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy things though. While claustrophobia is a problem, I did kind of find myself cheering (is that the right word?) when Lennon followed Maggie into the death-trap when they had to wait for Doug to get back from Tokyo. And I did like that for the most part, he might have pushed for a relationship with Maggie, but he also didn't push beyond where she was comfortable. And if he happened to do so on accident, he'd (try to) talk to her about it.

Maggie was great but she spent so much of the book holding out on Lennon and making me roll my eyes. We got glimpses into her reasons on and off and then she finally told Lennon her big secret, which was definitely sad but also kind of made me hope someone would throttle her sooner rather than later. Acknowledging that her age when she found things out and everything played a part in a lot of her personality development, I still felt like it shouldn't have taken as long as it did for her to realize things. I did like how she ribbed Lennon and the others as good as she got and when she wasn't busy coming up with all the reasons that things weren't perfect, their relationship was pretty hot actually.

6 CLUES YOUR NEMESIS LOVES YOU by Kelly Siskind

6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You is book 3 in the series. While you could read it as a standalone to better understand everyone's backstory and dynamics you really need to read them in order.

OH my goodness the Bower boys will steal your heart. Once again you can't help but fall in love with Kelly's characters. She has a wonderful and heartwarming way she weaves you through her storytelling.

The Bower family is re-emerging from being in WITSEC, a.k.a. witness protection for the last ten years and beginning to regain their lives.

Lennon Bower and Maggie Edelstein started a secret friendship in high school. While they definitely had a blooming chemistry in private she would never acknowledge him in public. Now ten years later the denial is still there. He clearly still has strong feelings for her but she still refuses to admit what's in her heart and keeps him at arms length.

The story is only told in Lennon's POV but it works because the writing is so great. While the book follows their past and present trials and tribulations it is entwined with so much more. It's funny with their back and forth banter that will keep you laughing throughout, it's emotional as they open up their hearts, it's healing as they work through past and present hurts, it's inspiring and loving as they help explore and discover their future. Yet, that's not all you have in store in this captivating story you have the shenanigans between the brothers (hilarious), the family's love, support and commitment to each other. Oh and lets not forget the great and sometimes nosy community of Windfall.

I can't wait to see what's in store for Callahan and Jolene in 4 Hints You Love Your Best Friend.

I received a free ARC from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

5 beautiful written ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5 What Really Happened All Those Years Ago Stars!!

I’ve been looking forward to Maggie and Lennon’s story since the first book in this amazing series. Whenever these two are involved on a page or in a scene the smile on my face from all the stealth like hiding that goes on had a huge smile on my face. Imagine my delight when I read the first chapter and it was one of the best stealth moves LOL!

We all know that whatever happened all those years ago had quite an effect on both Lennon and Maggie. We just don’t know what it was… but when we find out…well things become so much clearer. I loved that while their were definitely hurt feelings, between them, their chemistry is still through the roof! And the witty banter between not only them but also his brothers and their significant others was phenomenal.

As I read this book, I found myself smiling quite a bit. The way Ms. Siskind writes the story bringing us on a journey of some forgiveness but also a reckoning of sorts thanks to the Bower’s father who is responsible for their being in Wit Sec for the last ten years. Their lives are understandably all changed in the most dramatic ways and coming to terms with that really affected Lennon I think, more than his brothers. While this man is somewhat of a jokester, he also is mushy on the inside.

I thoroughly enjoyed Maggie and Lennon reconnecting and all their bets/challenges. It definitely makes their lives interesting and fun! There’s some surprises in this book that I wasn’t expecting that also has an affect on the entire family, but in a good way I think.

Overall, I loved getting to know another Bower brother and I’m excited to see what’s next for this family.

Kelly Siskind does it again! Her Bower Boys series with it’s super unique concept of telling the stories entirely from the male character’s point of view is something I really enjoy. No other romance author is doing it, and it makes for such a different experience. I love that!

Book 3 is Lennox’s story - the hipster brother. He’s retuned to town to run the kids day camps with Des and is doing his very best to avoid Maggie, who he’s deemed his nemesis. They had quite a close, secret friendship back in school and the days before the family disappeared into witness protection, but she would not acknowledge him in public or at school… and he never knew why. The pair shared so many secrets and had some interesting experiences during evening truth or dare games at the pond on her family property, and it wasn’t until 12 years later and after their adult reunion that everything is shared and they can finally rekindle a friendship - which is all it can be, because she has a (limp handshake) boyfriend.

This is an extremely slow burn, second chance story. I found it really quite slow and don’t think I related to it as much as the first books in the series, and it didn’t quite hold my interest or attention as much as the other two (the reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars), but I still love everything I’ve ever read by Siskind so it’s not that I didn’t love it, I’m just comparing it to her other multitudes of books! I definitely do still highly recommend this one and the whole series (and all her books!) to everyone!! She’s a Canadian great!!

I received an advance copy from Give Me Books PR, and this is my honest feedback.

I had been waiting for Lennon's story since he first appeared in the series. And I was itching to know why the mere mention of Maggie's name sent him in a tizzy. Finally, we know why.

Lennon is the joker of the Bower Boys, he delivers a ready joke to lighten the mood and receives repeated ribbing for being a hipster. Like his brothers, getting thrown into WITSEC changed his life. Even through his paranoia in the program, he found a way to launch a successful business and move forward. Except where Maggie is concerned. The mere mention of her name always sends him ducking for cover.

The story is told primarily from Lennon's POV, but we do get a sneak peek into Maggie's near the end. And I think that helped immensely with providing insight into her character and what hides behind the prim and proper façade she shows in public.

I loved how the author took her time with their relationship. Insta-anything wouldn't have worked here. It takes time to heal old wounds and a whole heck of a lot of patience. Ultimately, it's a beautiful journey worthy of the series to see the care and love Lennon has to break down Maggie's walls. Because that woman is a fortress with fortified iron barriers.

I smiled in parts and raged in others. Some moments were painful, others were heartbreaking, but they were somehow balanced with other moments that were truly swoony. All in all, it matched the rhythm of Lennon and Maggie and their uniquely hard-earned happily ever after.

This was another wonderful addition to a highly recommended series. I can't wait to read Cal's book. I suspect the Peacekeeper causes a bit of chaos.

These Bower Boys slay me in the best way, while also bringing me to tears all in the same chapter! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this just might be my favorite series of all time by Kelly Siskind and that’s saying something.

Each of these books focuses on the struggles each Bower boy has and continues to have with the fallout of their years in WITSEC, while trying to adjust to living a normal life now that they’re out of WITSEC. We get some crazy, doozy new evidence that their father is really as nasty as we all think he is – these poor brothers. Each and every book in this series has been my favorite until I read the next one and I can’t pick a favorite anymore! Lennon may be the joker of the crew, but he touched my heart so deeply in this read. Lennon, just like E and Desmond, are really good guys with so much heart that you can’t help but love them and wish the best for them, so naturally I was a “tiny” bit upset with Maggie at times in this book. Since she’s dealing with her own baggage I didn’t hold it against her. These two deserve all the happiness they can grab. This is more than just a romance – the family dynamics, the small town feel, the ups and downs of running a business – these books are all-around perfection and I can’t get enough of the them. Truthful, genuine, well-developed characters that I really don’t want to say goodbye to when I finish reading each book. Another 10+ star read from Ms. Siskind! I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Every time I think I can’t possibly love a book more, Kelly Siskind then writes another in this series that has me falling over myself to eat my words. This is the third in the Bower Boys series but can easily be read as a stand alone.

Ten years ago the Bower family was forced into witness protection in the dead of the night leaving their small town with questions and upsetting everything in their lives as well as the lives of the people they left behind. This is Lennon’s story. If you’ve read the earlier books, you’ve gotten snippets about him and about his nemesis the dreaded, Maggie Eldelstein. Finally we get to find out exactly why Lennon balks every time her name is mentioned and why he hides from her when out and about.

Lennon is a breath of fresh air in this series! He is the comedic relief in so many ways: from the ridiculous attempts at hiding from Maggie, the constant ribbing of him about his ‘hipster’ vibe, and the joy that his brothers get from mentioning Maggie’s name anytime they want a rise out of him. In this book, we also get to see a more serious side of him. His prior relationship with his father, the pain of finally finding someone he can be authentic with only to have it ripped away, the pressure of being the only person with knowledge of just how far his father’s betrayal goes.

Kelly does a beautiful job of balancing the serious with the light hearted. We get to see the big emotions, but also the silly side of Lennon and his brothers. Not to mention that delving into Maggie and Lennon’s past and watching them try to navigate the future is everything I want in a romance. The searing chemistry between the two is a gorgeous balance with their biting banter. This was yet another moving and fun filled installment of the Bower family, and left me only wanting more.

Thank you to Kelly Siskind and to Gove Me Books PR for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Gosh how I love the Bower Boys! Each book I read in this series becomes my new favorite and 6 Clues Your Nemesis Loves You now holds that honor. That's putting a lot of upcoming pressure on Cal and Jake, but from what I've seen they're up to the task- I'm sure Lennon won't go down without a fight, though, or at least a well placed barb!

I thoroughly enjoyed Lennon and Maggie's story. It was sweet and funny and also completely heartfelt. The banter between these two was so entertaining and the sexual tension was through the roof. At last we get the story of what happened with them back in high school, (although I did love the hiding and about faces they did in the prior books!), and seeing them finally give into their feelings was so worth the wait! Don't think it was an easy road for them, though- they both had issues that they needed to face.

Lennon is such a doll! He made me laugh and smile so big for much of this book, but then he'd also tug at the ol' heartstrings. He had to figure out how to reconcile the relationship he had with his father growing up with the man he turned out to be, which really weighed heavy on him.
Maggie was a bit of a tough nut to crack, and there was a lot to unpack with her, but I really liked her. She's so determined and focused, although sometimes to her own detriment.

Maggie and Lennon were really good for each other. I liked how they kind of forced each other to confront things they might have otherwise let continue to linger, which wasn't good for either of them. I enjoyed the flashbacks, getting that glimpse into the beginning of things between them. I'm so glad these two found their way back together.

Lennon is doing everything he can to avoid Maggie. However, in a small town that's really hard to do. He also can't seem to stay away from the woman that they shared midnight dips in a pond with but them totally ignores him during the day. Now that he's back and here to stay, can she resist him?

What I loved about this? Every time I read this series I almost immediately want to watch Gilmore Girls. The small town vibes with all the nosey town folk are so charming. I also really love the dynamic with the brothers and Lennon being the tricktster goofball brother I absolutely loved his banter and shenanigans trying to woo maggie. He honestly doesn't ever stop.

What I didn't like? The beginning was really lacking in plot so it kind of made the story drag. but once Maggie starts taking chances and the relationship really gets going I loved it. Maggie can be a frustrating heroine with how scared and resistant she is but i think that makes her very related in a lot of ways. I do wish there was some therapy talk/rep in this for her at the end with how much her issues affect her. Also the title suggests an enemies to lovers kind of story, but they aren't enemies at all.

Why you should read this? If you love small town contemporary romance stories, friends to lovers, outdoor spicey times, a very tight night family of 5 hot brothers each with their own unique personalities, banter galore, just read this whole series. it has my whole heart.
