7.1 Doppelgängers - Crazy chaotic shenanigans as the Gang has an imposter in their midst. Who’s who, or who was who, or is that: whom was who? Too much fun. (4/4)

7.2 Jellyfish! - The Gang is on the run while Vastra recovers. It’s unrelenting chaos. What else would you expect. (3/5)

7.3 The Houseguest - Another fun romp with the Gang as they return to Paternoster Row. And we’ve got The (Second) Doctor here as well. Or do we? (3/5)

Right away, I liked this release better than the previous one.
Again, we have 3 stories, featuring the Paternoster gang and their fight against a mysterious trespasser / doppelgänger.

The first story is fun enough, but basically boils down to a doppelgänger farce where they keep running around in circles in their own house. The idea got tired by the end.

Second story, Jellyfish.
The plot about how the sinister costal villagers make money during the winter was not the most original (at least for me, but there are also a few German audioplays which use the same plot points, so I just might be a bit overfed on this). So the story itself did not win any novelty prices from me.
However, the play itself was fun and entertaining enough. Vastra is sidelined for a while, but this is made up by Jenny and Strax having plenty of action and things to do.

The last story was also okay.
It is interesting having the 2B Second Doctor meet Vastra (for the first time?) and there is a nice interplay between the two characters, because they do not trust each other.
Also, the listener is also held in suspense- is this the real Doctor? There is definitely something fishy and sinister about him?
For this alone, the story is worth it, just because it uses the Doctor in a very different way from any previous Paternoster encounters.
However, the reveal of the villain at the end comes across as a bit anti-climatic.

In these plays, I have really come to appreciate the well thought-out sound design and soundtrack. Works perfectly and really sets the atmosphere and mood.

All in all a fun and entertaining release that I liked better than the previous one.

The plot is finally starting to properly kick in with this box set with it being the best yet.

Story 1 - a good and really funny follow up to the first set that has a lot of doppelganger highjinx. It goes on a little bit too long but this was enjoyable.
Story 2 - fun deep dive into some Sylurian lore that takes us away from the main conflict a little bit.
Story 3 - fun return to the main story that really started progressing it. I enjoyed this one
