This is an incredible book! I thought because it was a tiny book that there wouldn't be time to develop characters and a great plot. Yet, I was proven wrong! I loved the characters, and I loved how the main character Allie developed throughout the book! The plot was also really cute, and there were times when I couldn't stop smiling!!! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a quick love story, that will make you want to read it all over again!
Fourteen year old Allie Morrison is looking forward to spending the summer with her father in Los Angeles. Since her parents divorced, she rarely sees him. For that matter she never sees her mother either, even though she lives with her. Her mom is too busy at work or on dates, Aliie lives basically on her own. The day before she is to fly to the West Coast, her dad cancels the trip because his wife is pregnant, and having a baby soon. From hearing the bad news Allie won't be able to attend California, so she applies herself to work at Sam's Farm Stand, to keep her occupied throughout summer. Sam assigns her to work with his younger brother Tad who is Allie's age. He is rude to her and mean, his eighteen year old brother Rand is much nicer towards her plus more mature. As Allie adjusts to field work from being a a glamor girl, her three friends bet stuffed bras as to whether she becomes the girlfriend of the younger brother.I really enjoyed the ending of this book. She truly ended up with the perfect guy! I recommend this book to all teen girls, wanting a great teen love story! :) -The book was about 189 pages, easy to get through & to enjoy!
Well the FMC was 14 and acted 14 so there’s that. But tbh I totally get why tween Erin loved this book. It’s fun and cute and very age appropriate. Also LOLing at the main boy’s names being Tad and Rand. Hahahah very early 2000s.
Reading back through this as an adult I feel bad for how Allie’s parents really failed her… no wonder she has mommy and daddy issues. I can’t imagine being 14 and being expected to completely fend for myself with no emotional support. At least the mom seemed to understand the error of her ways at the end of the book but I’m definitely the founding member of the Allie’s Parents Need To Do Better club
Stephanie Rowe has done it again and left me with my jaws aching (from smiling too much while reading her book). I totally recommend this to girls with ages ranging from ten to fourteen. You'll definitely find it fun, quirky and adorable.
So, the book is centered around fourteen-year-old Allie Morrison who has an absentee mother, a negligent father and only three best friends to support her. She was originally going to spend her summer in sunny L.A., but after her father cancelled on her (due to "complications"), she went and begged her Latin instructor for the summer job that her friends had also applied to. She got the job. She also met Tad Novak on the job, a guy who pretty much scowled at her and told her she was useless every single day. Her best friends Frances and Blue are convinced Tad's immune to Allie's charms. But Natalie isn't, and she and Allie work together to get Tad to fall for her by the end of summer.
Because of Allie's behaviour in the last two books I thought she was shallow, stuck-up, bratty and spoiled. But after reading this book I realized she was so much more than a pretty face. She had issues with her mother. And although her mother apologized to her at the end, I still didn't think a teary-eyed "sorry" was enough. Her mother had done nothing for the past three years but disregard her only daughter. If I was Allie, I wouldn't have been so quick to forgive that. Her mother's excuses for being a bad parent just sounded lame to me and I wanted her to do much more for her daughter.
I liked Tad, though. (Not as much as I liked Colin and Theo from books one and two.) He was sweet and patient and he made me squeal a couple of times with his "tender" moments with Allie. Natalie played a key role in getting them together. I'm excited to read her story next. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars. This author knows what she's doing when it comes to teen reads.
You’re classic teen summer romance. Allie ends up spending her summer a little differently than she intended. After Tad, her workmate, ruins her self-esteem she runs into Rand, a handsome gentleman who is just her type. And really the only relief she has from Tad’s bad attitude, her dad’s rejection and mom’s neglection. But a bet is on with her friends. Is Tad really Allie proof? Or will she be able to get him to fall? A cute book, and while totally predictable, and not exactly realistic, it’s a fun read. I giggle and even cried a little as Allie sorts through her teenage angst and life problems. A good easy read when you just want a something fun and don’t want to have to think too hard. Or if you’re fourteen, it’s just the thing to change your life and know that you do indeed have a chance of finding Mr. Right.
I decided to read this book because it looked good when I was in the library. The category this this book fills on the bingo board is my own choice one and i chose "A romance" My favorite quote from this book is "Sweet. Then he bent his head, and I stood up on my tiptoes and we met in the middle. And it was perfect." My favorite character from this novel was the main character because she acts like she doesn't care what boys think and that if they don't like her then she moves on but when she meets this one boy that all changes. Something I learnt from this book is people always need their mums and it doesn't matter how much money you give them, it still won't change the fact that they are unhappy.
Allie Morrison is a self-centered girl who always wants to flirt with boys. She is also a dependent girl after her parents got divorced and her sister left to study in college Her mom is always have a date giving her no time for bondings. This summer, her dad promised to be with her but for some reason, he dad backed out, giving her no choice but to have summer with her friends at a farm. And there, she met Tad which is kinda mean to her. But soon, they became very close to each other and they started liking and loving each other which revealed in the end of the story, specifically after the camp when they got back in work on the farm. blah blah blah. read it for urself. i like the story, appropriate for teenagers like me :)
After reading this book I sort of wished I had my own Tad. He was so sweet at the end of the book especially and the way he was described, he sounded cute too. Just the guy Allie needed.
At first I was a bit hesitant about reading this book because of the book series Allie was my least favorite character but that's because I hadn't heard about her personal experience with boys and I thought she'd never settle down. Allie though was a very nice girl and she seemed to be a bit misunderstood with the situation about her mom.
I recommend it to anyone that wants a funny quick read or wants to fall in love with yet another too good to be true book guy.
This is a very cute and typical for a youngadult book. When I first read this book I flew through it within an hour. The characters in this book were all so interesting and different. I love how the main character acted like she didn't care about what boys thoought. This book even though it is more for the young adult it does have it's lesson in it.
Very quick fluffy read. I really enjoy those kind of books though. They make me feel happy. Which frankly is what we should want. So I will stay with my silly fluffy books. Also this one had some pretty funny moments too.
It's so funny how I thought this series was quite lame as it droned on about stuff that I would have LOVED if I were sixteen yet I keep on reading it and find myself attracted to Colin, Theo and Tad in a way that only Stephie Davis can bring.
a pretty nice book. you should definitely read it if you're looking for a book to read. it isn't all that great, but if you have nothing better to read, then this is a good choice.
Realmente en los últimos capítulos es que vale la pena, cuando se profundiza en el personaje de Allie, pero al principio me parece que es la mocosa más tonta que he leído en mi vida...
Fun!!! I don't have much to add that I haven't already said after reading the first two books except I loved tad. He is definitely in the running with Colin for fav boy in these books so far :)
This book was quick, fun read for me. The kind of book you might want to read to lighten up your mood. The ending was a bit rushed and could have been better. One time read.
