I enjoy Berthe Morisot's art - first really noticed it during the Impressionism: The First 100 Years exhibit in San Francisco in May 1986. I was recently (July 2008) able to attend a Four Women Impressionists exhibit, again in San Francisco - excellent examples from the Morisot collection. The book is a good introduction for some of my French students into the world of Impresssionism and specifically the world of Berthe Morisot.
This book is loaded with fabulous color and black and white plates of her paintings. The text discussed her paintings and brief overview of her life. Unfortunately it didn't really reveal much about Berthe's character. I was hoping to learn more about her thoughts and feelings during her life.
