Strange things start to happen to sixteen-year-old Haley after she notices the Watcher. He looks like an ordinary teen, but his gaze is menacing as he observes her and her family at a restaurant. And then he's gone - vanished - leaving behind a pair of shimmering silver sunglasses. When Haley peers through the sunglasses, colors fade and her best friend becomes someone else. Freaked out, she vows never to use the glasses again.
But the Watcher returns with deadly intentions. And after Haley is in a near-fatal car crash, she realizes the sunglasses are her only hope to prevent a murder. She slips on the glasses and enters a parallel world where dead people live and beloved friends die.
To survive in this duplicate world, Haley plays out the ultimate masquerade-pretending to be the girl living a twisted version of her life: her parallel twin, Halee.

About the author

I started writing at 8 years old and when I speak to kids at schools or libraries I show them the stories I wrote as a child. I loved mystery series like Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew, and my DREAM was to write a series of my own. This happened when My Sister the Ghost was published by Avon books in 1994.

Since then I’ve been fortunate to write other series like The Seer, Dead Girl trilogy, Strange Encounters, Regeneration and Curious Cat Spy Club. I recently added a mini mystery to the Curious Cat Spy Club series titled Dog Rescue Time Warp which has a surprise ending.

For SEER and DEAD GIRL WALKING fans, you may enjoy this romantic
parallel world-YA where Haley must impersonate her other self in a parallel world to prevent a murder of someone in her family. Transported to a world just like this one, she meets herself and finds a different version of her life--while a killer stalks her through both worlds.

Even before the Kindle came out, I was experimenting with e-books and sold this YA to an e-publisher. The editorial experience was just like working with a traditional publisher; they had their own artist create the cover and I had lots of revisions. Also it took about 2 years to go through the process. I hope you'll check it out!

I devoured this book, the twists and turns were great, kept me turning pages.

The book had a Watcher, mysterious sunglasses, and a parallel world.

And suspense, what a great time I had reading the book!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought that it was very original. Kind of like a modern take on back to the back to the furture, but more intense. Loved the story. Have liked everything by this author so far. Definately worth the read.
