Daily Readings with George MacLeod

Rate this book
Many lives were changed by George MacLeod's spine tingling sermons and many more by his personal example. The extra acts in this book, which can be used to inspire personal or group reflection, give a flavour of the passion and poetry of the Celtic mystic who led the rebuilding of the Iona Abbey, and whose theology was worked out not in the study but out in the street.

Here's a book giving useful snippets from the writing of the founder of the Iona Community, George Macleod.

His mature and insightful faith shines through everywhere. One of my favourite reflections is entitled "Being Earthed" in which the author speaks of the need for a faith that is totally inclusive of all "earthly" things. He has no time for the "don't mix politics and religion" brigade, but insists that the Incarnation means that God is present in ALL things. Hurrah for that.

This is ideal as a source of daily readings.

A very insightful and inspiring collection of daily meditations. My only disappointment was that it was over so soon. I had expected that there would be enough to last the full year.
