I use this book as a guide and reference in making my thesis animation, it’s like a small pocket bible because it cover a lot of topics for animation, it also consist some practices so we can implement it from the get-go. Though some of the theories are outdated because animation industries keep evolving but it’s still a solid book

This was a school book for me. So I didn't have to read the entire book. What I did read was very informative, and the part that I appreciated the most were the checklists and the exercises after every chapter. The exercises brought a more creative aspect to this book, a few of the exercises were to watch movies so I thought that was pretty cool. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in writing for animation. It's a pretty well-rounded book. Some chapters are more in depth than others, but all around a great book to have.

An easy read, but mostly just describes examples, besides maybe the script examples, and what children like at what ages, I did not find it very engaging, to me this book mainly just contains fluff ... but maybe I was led to expect too much.

Super useful for writers, particularly screenwriters as well as comic book and graphic novel story creatives, who wish to better understand or write animation or animation-influenced scripts or stories.

Feels like an endless bullet-pointed listicle, written at a ninth grade level. Absolute garbage.
