I'm excited to put this book to use. Have been recently talking about doing upgrades. Then I remembered this was on the shelf. I couldn't stop looking at the tips and ideas. Before I knew it I had gone through entire book.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It covered everything from designing (Yes, Brandice, make a plan first before you start planting LOL), drainage, slopes, lawns (yuck), walkways and paths, fences, outdoor rooms, water features, outdoor garden features (fireplaces, firepits, gazebos, etc), accents, planting, pruning and maintenance. Of course for such a spread, you sacrifice detail, but they did include many projects in sufficient depth. Thought it was a great starter book for trying to plan all future landscaping ventures.

Beautifully photographed and gives great practical advice for such projects as how to build a fence,
creating garden paths, outdoor fireplaces, water fountains, edgings etc. This book is a wonderful reference book. It really is a "complete guide."
