Allow me to explain my rating. The story itself deserves five stars IMO. The editing a one star. Hence me trying to find some middle ground.
I'm not an author - I'm only a reader so there are things I don't understand about the process of publishing a book. Who deems who edits the book? The author or the publisher? Someone else entirely?
Poison 2 may have not even been edited. I honestly don't think anyone could find even one single page that doesn't contain at least one error, probably many more. Any sort of mistake you can think of is included in this book yet "Advanced Editorial Services" edited this book according to the credits. Why use this service if it's been proven time and again that the quality is so poor? And it has been proven because a lot of the time when I read a very poorly edited book I find that this "service" has edited it. Is this a ficticious service, made just to pretend the book was edited?
How sad that the editing actually knocked this down two stars for me. I'm going to say this and people may think I'm trying to be funny - I'm not. There are so many mistakes in this book that I found myself, over and over, being shocked when a sentence was written correctly. Can anyone understand how bad that is?!
I've been the first to say I couldn't write a book - I just don't have the talent I don't think. I'm not suggesting in any way that Harris should have put out a perfected manuscript. Hell, how many mistakes can one find in this review? The problem with this is: this review isn't edited. The book supposedly was.
We're not okay with buying a new car that breaks, or any product that isn't high in quality. Why are the authors or publishers or whoever okay with giving their readers such poor quality books?
Okay, enough about the editing, or lack of editing I should say. Poison 2, if you can somehow through all the mistakes out of the window - is awesome. Much as Poison was before it. I loved everything about the story - there were one or two minor things that didn't really fit, like near the end with Fatal and the hair she cut to implicate Nyse. The first thing police would have seen was that the hair was cut and not ripped from a head. But like I said, very minor.
I loved the entire thing with B.I. and who he turned out to be. Great twist there.
K.D. Harris has the talent - hopefully her next book will be properl edited so I can give it the five stars I'm sure it'll deserve.

** I forgot to mention that it's so awesome having an author from around where I live and grew up. This is the only book I've ever come across to mention the Bucket and Riverside and Governor Printz and the Thunderguards and all. Much more was mentioned also - anyone from in or around Wilmington will appreciate that.

Nyese the main character of the book goes through some really hard situations in life. Even though she is evil herself she does not know what it feels like to be stabbed in the back by her own family. By doing this they try to take her baby away which, turns everything into a living hell. Nyese calls up a couple of friends to get her family back.

Even for the baby's own safety Nyese does some really horrible stuff to her family that causes them to want to have nothing to do with her. Eventually she starts to think about her life situations.
Do you think that Nyese has changed or continues her old bad ways?
After they try to take her baby away what do you think that Nyese does; fights back or let them take her baby away. Nyese does not care about her baby.. all she does is drink and party. She does not come home after days or sometimes weeks. She leave the baby with the baby sitter and she's worried sick. No one calls to check up on the baby or even visits the baby.
Eventually in the end Nyse learns a big lesson about controlling her self and watching who her friends are.

This second installment didn't disappoint! Wow, I stayed up all night because I just had to finish. I read a lot of romance novels but now I think I will be incorporating many of the urban novels in my repertoire as well .

This was a fairly good follow up, although some parts are exaggerated and unrealistic. Worth the read though!
