Two superteams clash in this exciting tale of cutting-edge action and intrigue. The Covert Action Team known as the WildCA.T.S heads to the rogue island nation of Gamorra, where they battle killer cyborgs, alien invaders and an evil mind-controller known as Misery. They also must face the Cyberforce, a superpowered team that has a history with certain members of the WildC.A.T.S, and a score to settle. But when the teams finally go toe-to-toe, are they fighting each other because they want to, or because Misery is making them? And will they be able to figure that out--and stop Misery--before they kill each other?
Jim Lee is a Korean-American comic book artist, creator and publisher. After graduating from Princeton, he decided to attempt illustrating comic books, and met with success. Lee's distinctive, crisply hatched line art style and rigid, idealized anatomical forms established a new stylistic standard for superhero comic-book illustration and reinforced a popular trend away from brushed to penned inking in the late 20th and early 21st century. Lee is currently one of the most successful artists in American comics.
He has received a great deal of recognition for his work in the industry, including the Harvey Special Award for New Talent in 1990.
So much action! I love it! You can easily copy-paste it into a movie and end up with a right proper blockbuster. There are even some funny lines in this one and the artwork is simply gorgeous - you can swear those contumes are painted on. Yeah, yeah, I'm superficial. Say what you say, but this comic is coming into its own.
Grifter and Zealot head into Kaizen Gamorra's Biosynthetic Entity factory to disable it. It's desirable for the Deamonites since it can provide immortal host bodies. It's guarded by many robots and by Misery, a psychic who has history with Warblade. Her own team, Cyberforce, makes an appearance here to great effect.
WildCats is a very decent early 90's team book, taking famous Marvel Characters, twisting them around and putting them in a paramilitary setting with a nice mythos. Cyberforce is a X-book with another name.
The crossover is kinda OK, until you notice there are similar characters on both teams, then it is a moodkiller.
Crossover events are annoying in my opinion. This one was pretty good but the story is nowhere near as good as the trilogy that started off this series.
