My favorite part of this book besides the poems, are that there are NO illustrations. The poems are the treasury and they are enough. My 9 year old daughter loves this book. I've tried buying it but can't find it, so I'm guessing it's out of print. Boo! Looks like we will just have to keep it on our library rotation.
I was pleasantly surprised - poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson, Robert Frost etc. My kids love poetry but this was their first introduction to the classics. They kept asking for me to keep reading! The old language was a treat. Highly recommend!!!
I really liked this book it had a TON of poems with in it. This book divided the poems up into different categories which I like and thought was smart because you could locate what type you wanted to read very easily.
I really enjoyed re-reading some poems I haven't seen since my childhood, as well as being surprised by the authors of other poems. In particular, Robert Louis Stevenson was fun to read. I'm trying to figure out how I can effectively use these poems in a middle school poetry unit.
