i did not enjoy this book. Barely making it through the first, i only kept on with the series because: 1. i had already finished the first book and was hoping the second picked up a little bit 2. I don't like to quit in the middle of a series for fear that i will miss something good, and lastly 3. because i had already bought the second book when i realized the first one wasnt exactly worthy of my time. Sitting on a plane flying to Los Angeles from D.C., i had enough time to finish this book.

p.s. one of the books i read for Avery's class

Alexis and Helene go to Paris for the summer, to stay with Helene's dad and new stepmother. Alexis was supposed to go to Greece with her deadbeat mother but she cancelled at the last minute and upset her daughter. Helene's stepmother is nasty to Helene but sweet to Alexis, even getting Alexis an internship at Vedette, a hot fashion house. Very cute book, with another prince quest for the girls.

I thought the Vanessa/Alexis ending was a bit rushed, but otherwise the plot moved along at a really great pace. I liked that Helene and Alexis got along for the most part in this book (aside from a few weeks. And, really, Helene had been a bit insensitive to Alexis after the whole Greek incident). But I liked that they were working together for Vendette and able to get along. And I liked that this book was focused on Alexis's love life (since Helene had already found hers).

A cliched look at Paris life, which, ironically, misses much of the actual beauty of the city. It did keep my attention, the characters were interesting, and the plot well enough laid out, and there were even some good moral lessons, but some of them were annoying told more strongly than shown, but worse, they were hardly realistic, and ignored much of real human emotions.

this book was about to step-sisters/best friends, who, to their surprise, find themselves together in thew city of romance, aka paris, france. they both find love, and find professions in areas they love most. It was a great, short read.
