Seven delightful Bear in the Big Blue House adventures can be found in this special storybook treasury! Join Bear, Ojo, Tutter, Treelo, Pip, and Pop in this collection of books including: Best Friends
This book contains seven stories (which are also available separately) in one hardcover edition from "Bear in the Big Blue House," the Jim Henson series developed specifically for Disney Channel. Each story offers a gentle message - the kind that isn't patently obvious or sanctimonious but instead leaves you with a warm feeling and makes you wish you were reading the story aloud to the child in the next room (but glad you had the chance to enjoy it yourself).
"Best Friends" helps you understand you can have more than one best friend; "Mystery in the Big Blue House" uses deductive skills to trace missing items in the house; "The Big Blue House Call" is about a doctor visit (and getting through scary shots); A Surprise in the Mailbox" is about preparing for a relative's visit (and in the flurry of preparation, not forgetting to enjoy the visit itself). "Two Can Share, Too" is about finding ways to play together in spite of the different things you might want to do; "Spring Has Sprung" is about enjoying the changing seasons, while "The Way I Feel Today" is about focusing on what makes you happy instead of what made you upset.
Five of the seven stories are illustrated with photos of the original characters in their furry glory, while the other two have drawings. I love seeing the actual Bear and other Big Blue House residents in the book. Bear sniffs at the reader, talks to Luna, and does many of the things he did so often during the television episodes, while the characteristics of Ojo, Treelo, Tutter, Pip and Pop continue to represent the different stages and personalities of young children - just as they did in the broadcast series. Making me miss the series all the more - the book is delightful.
