This is vintage stuff, a collection of early pieces written when I was developing as a writer. Most of the pieces are fantasy, a couple are humor, and one--my favorite--is my journal from the nine weeks I spent on an archeology dig in Peru in 1987, when Peru wasn't a stable country. I chose the cover image because it looks a lot like the Urabamaba river, where I took a swim I didn't want to take to save the life of a man who also took a swim he didn't want to take. We both made it out...but it was a long time before either one of us wanted to swim again. I also included a partial Sexton manuscript that will never see completion. I included it because it has a fun premise, one you can play with in your imagination.

"I live with my wife and a couple of cats in the thumb of Michigan. I was born and grew up in Kalamazoo, and attended Eureka College as a Ronald Reagan Scholar. While in college, I had the pleasure of mentoring under authors Clive Cussler, Terry Brooks, and Stephen R. Donaldson. After seventeen years professional service with the Boy Scouts of America, I decided to try something new and write novels full time."
