Rabin Squire is on top of the world. At long last, everything is going his way. He’s about to go into the studio with none other than Brent Rose to put together a new album for his band, the Indigo Knights. Okay, so there’re currently only two members of the band, but with Brent’s help, that’ll soon change. Things are looking up.

Then there’s Izzy, Brent’s cousin. Rabin’s never been interested in a guy before but he can sure tell when one is gorgeous, and Izzy is that. He’s also funny, and sweet and...sexy as hell.

Since he’s not gay, Rabin never expected to have a fling with Izzy. But Izzy says their having sex doesn’t make him gay. Rabin’s not so sure about that but if Izzy’s good with it, what harm can come of it? Izzy agrees; no one else needs to know.

Then an even bigger opportunity means that Rabin has to move away. So if the thing with Izzy was no big deal, why does it hurt when it comes to an end?

^^SQUIRE ME GOOD!^^

COVER- I am a big fan of P.L Nunn, her artwork is always beautiful. I love the covers she does for Jet, and this one is no exception. The cover captures the very sexy Rabin with his guitar, and Izzy with his long hair and the best t-shirt that I someday wish to own, it’s a hot cover and I freaking love it. There is just something uber sexy about musicians, whether they know how to play the instrument or not.

So Squire is the first book in the Indigo Knights series, a spin-off of the authors Heaven Sent series. If you haven’t read the HS series, I would advise you get on it right away. It is just Hawt, Steamy, Sexy and so totally YAOI. Pretty boys getting it on with other pretty boys, I call that a good day.

Rabin Squire is a struggling musician, who just got help from one of the biggest name in music. Brent from Heaven Sent as agreed to help his band out and hopefully bring them back on top, and making good music. He has moved in to the house to work on the music, and it seems Brent’s cousin Izzy is also staying at the house.

Izzy has flirting with Rabin a daily routine, but Rabin seems unaffected, but how long can you deny yourself when you start noticing how pretty a man is. Rabin is getting the thoughts, but he straight, Right? Things get a little confusing, but things are very clear for Izzy he wants Rabin and he is gonna make his move. A night of steamy passion answers some questions for Rabin and leads to new ones like; Why does sex with a man feels so good? Why does he want to do it again? And when Izzy is around no one else compares.

A hush hush affair is going on, a bit of hiding, denying and a whole lot of other emotions. Is this relationship all about f*cking or is there more. These men have to do some figuring out and have some very hot sex. Welcome to the world of Jet Mykles.

I love GFY (gay for you), they are just 50x more sexy, its just so hot when a declared straight man gets the hots for another dude, I love it. Rabin and Izzy are hot, Jet is a genius, she could write about squirrels and I would buy it. For all my new to m/m readers, Jet is an author to read, she does pretty like no one else.

SIDE THOUGHTS- Zane, Rabin's bff is a little bit of a hater when it comes to gay relationships. My hopes and dreams for him is that he starts liking a man and that man is a top. Yeh baby, that would burn, it would burn so good.

Note: You could read this book as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend you check out Heaven (Heaven Sent, #1) by Jet Mykles .

Sweet mildly angsty yaoi-style romance. Rabin's got dreams of making it big as a rock star, the initial road has been rocky, but he's got a great chance with Brent's help from the world renown band Heaven Sent. Trying to find the right mix of band members is tricky and what you have to do to make it big.

Overall, fun bubblegum read that's Spin meets Hallmark.

If you’re a die hard Heaven Sent series fan you should definitely pick this up. It’s a spin off but you don’t have to read the previous series at all (though if you haven’t...you’re missing out). Instead Mykles offers another fabulous and delightfully breezy read with cute characters, slight angst, and hot sex. This is a twist on the gay for you where the point of view is from the top that turns gay for the adorable twinky bottom. The writing is typical for what you’d expect and the slight tension is predictable and obvious. However that’s not going to bother anyone since this scores on all the levels fans will adore and come back for more.

This time around focuses on the band Indigo Knights. They had one hit single but never really achieved much success after that and have been struggling ever since. Rabin is the guitar player and composer that moves to Chicago to try to re-start the band’s career. He teams up with Brent (from Heaven Sent fame) to record some new songs but gets sidetracked by Brent’s adorable and flamboyant cousin Izzy. Izzy is out and proud and gets a crush on Rabin. One late night Rabin can’t figure out why his growing attraction to Izzy is wrong and the two get it on. Add in some band drama, a homophobic fist fight, the introduction of new band members and a happy ending and Squire delivers a fun, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable story.

The characters and the story itself feels slightly recycled from the formula that worked so well with HS. Here the twist is that Rabin is the top and also he experiences absolutely no angst at his attraction and relationship with Izzy. They keep their relationship a secret at first, mostly due to Izzy’s issues and past more than anything. Rabin is easy going, kind, considerate, and caring. He’s a nice guy with little drama and angst in his life. Izzy is slightly more complex with a difficult past but this is mostly glossed over and Izzy comes across more plastic than he should. Izzy has more complexity than it appears and I wish the story had gotten into his past and few issues more than it did.

The sole tension comes from the band and its path to success. The drama is predictable and obvious and this is where I wish the story had some more subtly. I didn’t particularly like the resolution of Rabin and his best friend, even though the entire conflict is telegraphed very early on. I would have liked some more subtly and a less obvious, easy way out. However the story excels on sticking to what it does best – cute characters, hot sex, and a rock star vibe – so fans and newcomers alike are likely to adore this offering and re-read it several times.

The band is completely reformed by the end of the story and the new members will no doubt be the focus of the new series. As with anything there are likely to be fan favorites and while I liked Squire, Danny definitely caught my attention and I’m interested in his story. I hope any future tension is less obvious but either way, this is a formula that works extremely well for Mykles and her rock star series so I anticipate the entire series will deliver high entertainment. I can’t wait.

I have never read Jet Mykles's "Heaven Sent" series (yes, I know, I've been living under the rock!) so this one just flies my radar. But, since I read one of her newest one the other day and loving it, I feel like I must go back and read her older ones.

Can I say, I'm in LOVE?!? *grin*. I am not such a big fan of GFY theme nor the yaoi description of one big/sturdy and one lithe/girlish. BUT, let's just say that I'm shedding all that reservation for this because OMG, this story is a charmer!

The story tickles EVERYTHING I want and look for from a romance. Endearing characters (especially Izzy), charming seduction, hot sex, slight angst, intense climax, to a happy ending. While the point of view is from Rabin (the top) but I get enough feeling about Izzy and his past, and gosh, he's so adorable. Although I would love to know more into his mind considering the event that happen in his past is not one that just easily forgotten. Rabin is that one kind and caring guy -- and even if he is never been with any man before, he is so into Izzy that he is willing to consider.

There is an introduction to new characters, which I think will be part of this series. And guess what, let's just say that I already book my ticket for the next show. I'm SOLD, Ms. Mykles, and now I'm going back to buy my ticket for "Heaven Sent" performance :)

I'm such a fan of Jet Mykles and I loved the return to the music scene she had created in the awesome Heaven Sent series. This was a terrific introduction into the Indigo Knights stories and I enjoyed very much the fact that it was a GFY from the point of view from the top. That seemed quite unusual to me as I couldn't recall off the top of my head any others that were along these lines. The epilogue too was such a giant tease. I want more. Dammit.

Prettie plz to be writing faster, Jet Mykles.

Very good m/m romance spin-off from the Heaven Sent series, about the straight singer who filled in for Brent in Heaven Sent while Brent's wrist was broken, and who is now staying with Brent, Hell, and Brent's intriguing cousin Izzy while he works on getting a new band together.

This is a sweet story with a little drama but mostly just a smooth journey about falling in love.

Rabin is easy to fall for and Izzy was the perfect man for him.

It’s true that a Gay Romance novel can be serious and even a little bit drama, but I think that what can so many reader hooked on this genre were stories like the Heaven Sent series by Jet Mykles, or at least that was for me. I eagerly read all 4 books in that series, plus the bonus stories with all 4 pairs together; I’m guilty of not having yet read the spin-off, but it’s never too late. I admit that I was a little sad to see that series end, pretty and a little bit crazy guys playing in the show business field was a good treat for me, every time a new novel was out it was first in my reading list.

With Squire Jet Mykles comes back to that world, and starts a spin-off series, Indigo Knights; Rabin Squire already appeared in a previous novel of the Heaven Sent series, and he was for sure an interesting character; as other in that series, he was not openly gay, but let us say that he was at least bi-curious. In his own story, Rabin meets Izzy, Brent’s cousin (Brent is part of the Heaven Sent band and he is paired with Hell); Izzy is a bit of a stereotype: long, flowing black hair, lithe and smooth body, as much if not more pretty than a girl, if Rabin is bi-curious, Izzy is probably the right boy to experiment.

Izzy is coming out from a bad breakup and he says he doesn’t want nothing serious; he admits he has a crush on Rabin, and he is more than willing to be his buddy “f**k” friend, with strings attached. But saying and doing is different and without almost realizing that, both Rabin than Izzy develops a deeper feeling for each other, something that can easily turn in love if they give it a chance.

The story is pretty much on the light mode, there is really no drama, and I liked that, even if there was a little bit of thinking on the straight versus gay issue, in the end Rabin had more or less a “what feels good is good” attitude: being with Izzy is good, they are not doing anything wrong, no one will suffer from it, so, where is the wrong in that? They are young, they are free, and they are good together. True, someone could question Rabin’s easiness in accepting being involved in a gay relationship while he was “apparently” straight, but that is, the author suggests that while Rabin was fine in his “straight” relationship, he has never had anything serious with a woman since it was not really his fate.

Squire, and I suppose all the Indigo Knight series, like the Heaven Sent was, is a light show business themed story, with pretty boys, good sex and little if nothing drama, perfect for a R&R night.

Squire is the first book in the Indigo Knights series which is a spin-off from the author's Heaven Sent series. Rabin Squire comes to live with Brent and Hell from Heaven Sent for a few weeks while he tries to regroup after his band falls apart. Also staying at the house is Izzy, Brent's younger cousin, who's in culinary school. Izzy's super cute, gay and a total flirt and he's also trying to get over a really bad breakup. Rabin notices the flirting but doesn't have a problem with it. As they become friends Rabin begins to find himself drawn to Izzy sexually. A weekend alone brings those feelings out and they end up in bed. They decide to continue a no-strings attached affair but when Rabin's career unexpectedly takes him across country will they discover, before it's too late, that sometimes hearts don't understand the meaning of no-strings.

I really enjoyed this GFY story and look forward to the continuation of the series. Rabin and Izzy are totally likable, fun, sweet and sexy guys. The slow development of their relationship as they go from friends to lovers was nicely done and I liked the bit of angst in the last third of the book. I also liked the scenes with Brent and Hell as well as with Danny, a musician Rabin meets in California, who I hope will have his story told soon.

Well written and interesting this story is told in Rabin's POV and set in the music world but this time the band isn't world famous and rich. Instead it's one man trying to make his dream come true. He's getting help from people already well established in the music industry but it may not be enough to overcome some issues with his bandmates. I found the musical aspect of the story quite interesting.

Overall this was a really enjoyable story. Jet Mykles writes great GFY storys and this one is no exception. I liked the cast of characters and the sex was both super hot and sweetly tender. I definitely recommend Squire and I'm looking forward to the next story in this new series.

While Brent and Hell from Heaven Sent make an appearance in Squire (Hell very briefly), the plot is squarely on the shoulders of Rabin and Izzy. Rabin was a fill in for Brent in Genesis, after he hurt his hand. This friendship brings Brent to offer the use of his studio and his expertise to Rabin and his band, the Knights. The Knights have disbanded and RAbin due to serious personality conflicts with one member and a drug habit of another. Rabin and his best friend Zane are starting over, with the support of Brent. Zane is not completely on board with the plan, but knows it is a good move. While Rabin moves to Chicago to begin work with Brent, Zane is to follow in a month's time. During this month, Rabin meets Brent's cousin, Izzy. Izzy is a lovable, effervescent character, one who has been forced to hide his true self and his past love. Izzy has a love for life, and a natural sparkle that jump off the page. He is also protective of Rabin, and wants the best for him. When an opportunity for the Knights to get back together occurs, Rabin takes it, knowing it can mean the end of he and Izzy. Jet Mykles does a great rock story, and since this band is still unknown, it is a completely different feel than Heaven Sent. Izzy by himself is worth five stars. The epilogue leaves it open for the series to continue with Danny, which will be early anticipated.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!

Rabin Squire, from the band Indigo Knights, has moved to Chicago in this one. He was introduced in Genesis when he filled in for Brent. Now I’ll try not to go into to much detail and give it away. Basically he has come to Chicago with his friend and band mate, Zane, to go to the studio with Brent Rose to work on his new album for Indigo Knights (the band only has to member though, so far.) But with Brent’s help even thats looking up. Also, he meets Brent’s cousin Izzy Rose.

Izzy is gay and proud of it, and he shamelessly flirts with Rabin. Rabin has never been attracted to men before, but with Izzy its different, and well, one thing leads to another... then, a deal comes along but with it Rabin will be leaving Chicago. But Izzy and he was just a fling, Right?, but if thats true why does it feel like he’s splitting in to.

Again I loved it and look forward to a second one!

While not a bad book, I was expecting great things from the spinoff of Heaven Sent. My issue is not with the characters or the writing, I think it's that we spend more time with indigo Knights and less time in the actual love story. Just not used to that sort of thing from Mykles. A perfectly enjoyable book and it's great seeing the little bit of Brent and Hell. I kept searching for Johnnie and Luc, but that's my own personal thing.

This series is s spin-off of Heaven Sent with some cross-over characters. The band, Indigo Knights, is looking for its big break with some help from Brent from Heaven Sent. The story focuses on Rabin and Izzy with a GFY plot. The book focuses more on the relationship development rather then immersing in the musician lifestyle. A nice feel-good story. 3.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this gfy book. Very sweet, not too angsty and had my attention the entire time. Sex was pretty good, nothing earth shattering (for me anyway) but still pretty hot. My only complaint is that we had to wait so long for the sequel which is due maybe Sept.

Squire is the first book in the Indigo Knights series: a spinoff from the Heaven Sent series…which I loved. I remember that I held off on reading these, waiting for more than just a few books to be released, then I forgot all about them! And then we chose Jet Mykles to be our featured author for the month…

Squire tells the story of Rabin Squire (oh, now that is explains the title!) and Izzy (Brent’s cousin). Rabin was introduced in Genesis, book 5 of Heaven Sent…I think, when he had to stand in for Brent when he broke his hand right before a big performance. With Brent’s help, Rabin is trying to rebuild his band Indigo Knights and is staying with Brent and Hell until his best friend and bandmate Zane is able to move up to Chicago with him. Rabin has always considered himself straight, but he recently claimed to be “undecided”, but when he meets Izzy and discovers that sex with a man “feels right”, Rabin just might be gay after all.

I really liked this book. It’s easy, has good tension, and the romance is pretty believable even though Rabin didn’t have much trouble accepting his newly discovered sexuality. Plus, the bedroom scenes with Rabin and Izzy were pretty sexy.

There was a little bit of angst when Rabin decided to move away, but it didn’t get all that exciting…and it didn’t take Rabin long to come to his senses. There isn’t much else to say about this story, but it was a fun, simple read. It could probably be read without reading the Heaven Sent books since I could barely remember Brent or Hell and I don’t think it hindered my enjoyment of Rabin’s story at all.

My one complaint is that it kinda left Rabin’s friendship with Zane hanging, so I’m curious to see if that gets resolved in a later book…

I’m very interested in reading Danny’s story…which I see is the next book Champion.

I always struggle when it is time to write down my thoughts on any of Jet's yaoi style stories. I like them so much and in so many ways, that it is a challenge to pinpoint what makes it all work so well for me. Indigo Knights 1: Squire is no exception. So here are a few thoughts on Squire, but know that there are no words to describe just how much I love this story and the ones that preceded it.

I am a huge fan of gay for you (gfy) stories and in Squire, Jet delivers another gfy gem. By choosing to write from Rabin's point of view, Jet made the gfy aspect much richer and gave us a top's POV, a change of pace from what we are used to in the Heaven Sent world. I really enjoyed this change in POV.

The Indigo Knights are not an established band. There are significant developments regarding the band's lineup throughout this story and clearly more to come in subsequent stories. This brought a certain amount of tension to the story without making it overly angsty. I was glad to see that Indigo Knights balances the yaoi aesthetic I loved from prior stories in this world with a whole new dynamic surrounding the characters interactions. It's everything I liked before, but it's also new. Yay!

The characters are just to die for. Izzy in particular has now joined the ranks of pretty bois that have a permanent home in my head. He is sensual, energetic and freaking adorable. Lucky me! Though I must say, Danny was not far behind. I am hoping his story is next 'cause he really needs a HEA like yesterday. ...and yes, I even enjoyed meeting some of the not-so-nice characters. Annoying characters are something that really didn't exist in the HS world, but is probably here to stay in the IK storyline. I like the change of pace.

Last but certainly not least, I thoroughly enjoyed Brent and Hell's cameos. It is always nice to visit old friends. I got a really warm and fuzzy feeling reading about them and hope that we see more of them sprinkled throughout the IK series. Please?!?!

Really...whether you are die hard Heaven Sent fan or Jet Mykles fan or GFY fan, just go buy this book now!

This book is a spin-off to Jet Mykles' popular series Heaven Sent. I actually enjoyed this story more than the stories in the Heaven Sent series. I felt that this story was a little more developed and I was a little more interested in the aspect of the Indigo Knights being an up-and-coming band, rather than focusing on established superstars. I would definitely read more books in this series if the author chooses to write more.

In this book Rabin Knight is trying to get his band Indigo Knights signed after a one-hit-wonder and loss of two members made them fall out of the limelight. Now that he has the help of Brent and Hell, two members of the famous rock band Heaven Sent to help produce him, he feels his music is back on track. Dissension crops up in the form of his band member and best friend who doesn't like where the new music is going. Also, the other two members of the band that Rabin never got along with, have signed with a company on the West Coast. Rabin has to decide if he wants to get back with the original band members and a pre-signed deal, or if he wants to follow his musical instincts and work on the music he's developing with Brent.

To make matters more interesting, Brent's cousin Izzy is interested in Rabin and does not hide his attraction.

I liked this story and I liked the characters. It was a fun, quick and breezy read.

A delightful story from Jet Mykles who never disappoints me. I loved the Heaven Sent series and this Indigo Knights series started right off with a bang. Rabin Squire comes to stay with Brandt and Hell from Heaven Sent's Hell when he relocates to Chicago to get his band regrouped. There he meets Izzy, Brandt's cousin, a culinary student who makes no secret of being gay.

They become involved, even though Rabin has always been straight, and Rabin finds himself becoming more and more attracted to Izzy and less and less attracted to anyone else. These two make a sweet couple and I just loved that the author kept the pace fast, the story flowed quickly.

The couple had their trails, their angst and then their sweet HEA. I can't wait to read the next in this series!

I loved the whole Heaven Sent series, so a spin-off? Oh yes, this was an automatic read for me and I loved it as much as any of the books from the original series. Similar to the original, this one too featured one of the MCs trying out sex and a relationship with another guy for the first time after only having been with women (Rabin). Since Rabin was attempting to make a name for himself in the music industry and very much a struggling artist yet and Izzy was going to culinary school, this book felt a bit more down to earth and realistic (something us average folks could relate to). Looking forward to more of this series!

A sweet, uncomplicated fluff story that neither excited me nor bored me.

Like the first Heavent Sent book, I am not blown away by this first book of the series. The characters did not appeal to me. The sex scenes had a nice heat to them.

I found the view of the difficult life of a musician seeking fame quite interesting to read. Not as gritty as one would usually read about but not unexpected for a frothy romance.

I actually like this book more than the Heaven Sent. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the MCs in this book are struggling artist and someone who just emerged from a bad relationship, which make the story more 'down to earth'. In contrast, in Heaven Sent the band members were already rich and famous even in Book #1.

I haven't read many rock star books, maybe I was tainted by reading 1D fanfic, I'm not sure.
But this was sweet
Rabin - is lovely, a bit confused and just starting over in the music business
Izzy, is essence of cute twink

They skirt around each other, stuff happens...

I really enjoyed it
