Average high-school student Midori Shinomura falls mysteriously ill. While she wastes away in a hospital, she learns of another Midori - a fighter of terrible skill in the online game known as The World. There is a strange and close connection between both Midori Shinomura and game-Midori. With the sanity of both girls on the line, game-Midori will try to solve the mysteries of her past, and perhaps save the real-world Midori in the process.
This is slightly better than the first one but not good. It was more coherent and fluid, but there were so many points when it just described the same feelings/scenarios on repeat. Like within paragraphs of one another. The same shit on repeat for pages. Or, if not solidifying something, it was just completely contradictory! One page she feels unstoppable and she can do what she needs to. Legitimately one page later, she's in a complete state of despair and giving up. This was an absolutely exhausting read and I'm glad I'm done.
I really enjoyed .hack//cell Volumes 1 and 2. While set in the popular world of .hack//G.U. it seems that Cell takes it's own route. While we see some familiar faces the story starts out and stays with it's protagonist instead of falling into the all too familiar trap of focusing in on more popular or well known characters instead.
