My brother-in-law wrote this book for NaNoWriMo in 2009. Obviously since it was written in a month it's not very long and would need some editing and development.
Overall, however, it has great potential and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The characters have unique voices and the narrator has a deep inner life. There is an element of sci-fi/fantasy to it that I was pleasantly surprised by, along with some interesting ideas. I also wasn't expecting it to be so suspenseful, but it kept me reading past my bedtime just to see what happened.
