This whole book series was a JOY to read and as assumed it brought me great tears at the end. Even though I knew how most of it would end, it still unfolded so nicely. I really really enjoyed all of the characters.
It really reminded me of The Notebook meets The Five People I Met In Heaven.
I'm going to miss reading this series for sure but it brings me joy to know Mia has other book series that are similar.
I have not been this emotionally invested in fictional characters in such a very long time. I am going to miss these characters like I would an old friend that moved far away. Thank you Mia Kent for this well done series. I am sad to see it end, but very satisfied with the way it ended. Thanks for writing a good clean book series. Thanks for all the “feels.”
such a cute ending to this series! I got the first book for free and was not planning to read all six but I honestly got so sucked into the characters and their lives in this adorable little town. I loved how there were so many interpersonal challenges that needed to be worked out, yet every character’s story was so different from each other. I really enjoyed the historical aspect and getting to see helen’s role as a nurse during world war II, and seeing her finally get some closure and peace over john. robyn’s relationships with helen, levi, and delaney were so cute, and I wish we got to see a bit more from that couple farther into the future (same with owen and brooke though I think they must have had a lengthy conversation that we did not get to see lol). overall very cute summer story
The last in the Thistle Island series which definitely needs to be read in order. I really enjoyed this final book and found it very satisfying with the way the story ended. Nothing forced with the ending, just beautifully and sensitively written with conclusion.
I said in my review of book 5 that I felt, along with several others, that the series would have been better served as one book, thus avoiding the need for repetition with what had gone before. I did enjoy the series, greatly and would happily recommend them to someone wanting or needing, books for enjoyment, light, gentle reading that has characters you can identify with and in most cases, love.
In The Reunion, Mia Kent’s final novel of the Thistle Island Novel Series, most of the budding romances come to fruition. Helen, the 98-year old, makes her final journey and is reunited with her beloved John. There is a lot of food for thought as some things work out and others simply do not, but all are richer because of the encounters and interactions.Enjoy this series and follow the lives of Robyn, Claire, Paul, Jessie, Levi, Delaney, Helen, Owen and Brooke, to name a few. See how their situations mirror the lives of people you know. Mia Kent has a great way with words!
Love & Heartaches- so many surprises! So hard to put down!
I’ll start by saying that I’d much rather read 3 books in a series than six. It’s simply too disrupting to have to keep buying short books to read a story. However, the story was full of well-developed characters who really held my interest! And island life held beautiful surprises for almost all of them. In spite of every heartbreak! I really grew to love each of the main characters as I cheered them on in my heart.
The “Thistle Island” series was truly delightful. Each of the main characters brought so much to the series. I was so anxious to continue the story in each of the books, that I only took the time to review the series when I finished it. If Thistle Island was a real place, I think I would be moving there tomorrow. The entire series is a testament to the fact that true love can be found in many different ways. A must read series.
What an amazing series, Thistle Island, books 1-6! I loved every minute reading the book’s many love stories unfold on a beautiful island. The island was described in such wonderful details that I could visualize it and smell the salt air! I intend to read the whole series again, since I bought each book of the series and I will also be telling others to read it too!
Mia Kent, I will be looking into your other books too😍 Please keep writing good clean books for us.
The six books should’ve been one. I got the first one on Kindle, unlimited and paid for the other five in fact it was one book and irritating because each book ended at a place where you had to get the next one. All of that aside, it was a really great story with good characters and exciting storyline. I would recommend it much more fully if it was one book and you didn’t have to pay for five of them.
I so enjoyed reading “The Thistle Island” series. I liked reading about the seaside town, the friends that resided in Thistle Island as well as the romance. I particularly loved the romance novels story of John Sullivan and Helen. I am looking forward to reading additional books by Mia Kent.
First time I've read Mia Kent books and I was not disappointed. The Thistle Island series captures you from the beginning, I read all 6 books and I couldn't put them down, i needed to know what was happening next. I felt like I knew each character and the Island.
This six book series is well worth the investment! The storyteller is truly talented. Each story has you engrossed and won’t let you put it down until the end but wait, because each ending is a cliffhanger. Then you can’t possibly put the next one down as well! So get a warm drink and have plenty of time because you’ll need it! 🤗
This happens to be the first books of Mia Kent that I have read, and oh my goodness am I now a huge fan! The Thistle Island series had me experiencing every single emotion, and kept me wanting more. Can this be turned into a Hallmark movie? Asking for a friend 🧡!
I found Robyn and Helens friendship so touching. The friendship that Owen and Brook shared mixed and confused at times with a genuine love for one another, heartbreaking. Loved every page. Couldn't put it down.
You know you should never read a series when one of your fave characters is 98 because you know what is going to happen but it’s done so well in this book that you are crying as well as smiling to yourself. I have absolutely loved this series and am looking for Mia”s next one

A true to life happily ever after with a bitter sweet ending. An excellent story of love and loss that had my emotions on a roller-coaster. Grab your box of Kleenex and prepare yourself for tears of both sorrow and joy. I will definitely be reading this series again.
I absolutely loved this series and the small town island life's characters. This book should say reunions because there are several that have their reunions/ unions that they so desperately have been seeking for years.
As usual, I finished these books in record time! Mia Kent is a wonderful master of writing stories that pull me in and make me want to meet the characters. I laughed, cried, and everything in-between while reading the precious stories of Thistle Island!
I have read all 6 books in this series, and they are a lovely chilled out read, I do so love happy endings. Well done, Mia, on your excellent writing skills. I look forward to reading more of your books soon.
I was definitely hooked after book one and just added all the others in the series and had a readathon! Love the characters, love how they are all intertwined, and only complaint might be not having Helen actually reunite with John.
All loose ends tied into neat bows of satisfaction! Excellent series, I'm so happy I stumbled upon it. I'll read all of Mia Kent’s books now, after all, I've found a new favorite author😁
I would recommend this series to everyone who loves family stories. I will miss these characters. They are people who you would want to be friends with ❤️
Have just read all 6 Thistle Island books and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Lots of highs and lows . Plenty of romance but nothing too mushy. Highly recommended.
